Uppertown Farm. Fields with view of Carsington Water. Some sloping, some flat. Among fields, beautiful environment. Some road noise during the day, quiet at night. Easy walk to pub and the reservoir with its shops, cafe and visitors centre. Note: there is no shower or toilet block, bins or electricity - you need to be self sufficient. Update August 2020. Pitches are now marked/numbered and distanced about 7m apart. Cost is £10 per night.

Fattoria di Uppertown. Campi che si affacciano su Carsington Water. Alcuni in pendenza, altri piatti. Tra i campi, bellissimo ambiente. Qualche rumore dalla strada durante il giorno, tranquillo di notte. Facile raggiungere a piedi il pub e il bacino idrico con i suoi negozi, bar e centro visitatori. Nota: non ci sono docce, servizi igienici o elettricità: devi essere autosufficiente.

Gemakkelijk te lopen naar de pub en het stuwmeer met zijn winkels, café en bezoekerscentrum. Let op: er is geen douche- of toiletblok of elektriciteit - je moet zelfvoorzienend zijn.

Great site with great views. Very close to Carsington Water with fantastic walking and pub close by. Although the ground was waterlogged after weeks of rain, Paul the owner managed to get me on some hard standing and we spent an enjoyable 2 nights, definitely coming back hopefully in drier weather !!
easy to find, beautiful view, quiet, only tiny issue is little flat space ...road noise is a country lane and minimal. almost wild. we have a lovely night stop. 1 min from visitor centre. recommend and would stay again
A nice basic site. Local busses nearby for Matlock and Ashbourne. Two quiet nights.

Great location to explore Carsington lake with a 5 min walk to the visitor centre which has toilets which are open from 7.30am for that early morning penny There is plenty of space and you can choose where you want to pitch Fire pits are allowed Fantastic view of the lake Only a 5 minute walk to the pub and it has a fish and chip van on Fridays from 4.30pm until 7pm Definitely going to come back
Large site, but noisy from the road and the other campers. Dogs not on leads or very long ones, we saw several doing their business with the owners not noticing either accidentally or deliberately. Site owners friendly, but would not stay again.
Stayed here last night. Nice and simple £10 a night with decent view overlooking Carsington Water. Is on a little bit of a hill but with levelling ramps it’s fine. Road noise wasn’t as bad as expected. Would definitely stop over again.
It's an ok site for the price but the road noise is constantly until about 9pm - much busier road than you would expect so if you're parked in the top flat field like we were you can't escape it. The field with the views is very sloped so come prepared. No bins either so we probably won't go back. Could spent the same elsewhere for much more peace and quiet.
We stopped here and had a wonderful weekend. There was some traffic noise but that died down in the early evening. Its not fancy , just provides the basics but is well priced. some pitches have great views over Carsington water. nearly all are sloped so be prepared The mobile fish and chip van was good value and very tasty.
Paul was really friendly and helpful for a last minute booking and made the best out of the bad weather! Really great views of the lake and had a lovely stroll with the dogs in the morning! Deffo a 5 stars can’t complain.
Perfect stop off point top field is flat (right as you go through the gate) other field is quite hilly, friendly management, ** no facilities other than chem toilet empty and fresh water *"

Großartige Lage! Nachts kein Straßenlärm, nur Schafeblöken tags. Platz tatsächlich sehr uneben. Stand alleine. Bezahlung am späten Morgen aber die junge Frau hatte Angst vor Hunden, so dass kein Gespräch möglich war. Koordinaten sind einwandfrei, Name des Platzes lautet aber "Uppertown Farm". Kein WiFi
This is a great value site in a beautiful location! The owners collect payment in the evening and are friendly and helpful, explaining how they operate the surrounding farm if you ask questions. Main downside is lack of bins and grey waste disposal, which limits how long we can stay.
