Good spot for overnight. We parked in one of the dedicated motorhome bays which was pretty level. Nice little beach by the small harbour which leads tof the pier and very close to the local pubs and shops. Cost us £8.80 from 15.30 till 07.30.

Great car park, I only stayed a few hours in daytime plenty of space in Feb, I would imagine it would be hard to get a place in spring/summer as not many spaces for motorhomes, I'm in 7.9m

  • 4/5

Great location for views and convenient for town, toilets and pubs. Overnight 9pm to 7:30am £2. Hourly rate in low season £1.50. Dedicated flat spaces too.

  • 5/5

Great park up, very quiet overnight

  • 5/5

great spot with 6 or so bays for Vans probably better to find a space on the road then head here overnight as the daytime parking is a little expensive we stayed in the winter and it was very quiet. I would expect this to get very busy in the summer. the area is definitely getting better. a few nice pubs, cafe's and restaurants a short walk away (4 fathoms worth a visit)

  • 5/5

Stayed here over night on Saturday, very busy however we did get a space. The pub over the road was lively (great music though) was quiet after 11, no disturbance through the night. Great view across the sea.

  • 4/5

Nice spot for overnights. 5 designated motorhome/ campervan spots and a very empty car park. music until midnight but Nice spot with lots of amenities across the road.

  • 2/5

  • 5/5

We stayed here prior to sailing from Dover the next day. Flat pitch with great sea views. Loud music (mostly good) until around 0200 but this is to be expected on a Friday night so no real complaints.

  • 5/5

lovely view, quiet and free until the morning. automatic gate - very cheap.

  • 5/5

Great spot! 6 large bays specifically for motorhomes and lots of other parking, despite its location it was very quiet in the evening and overnight! Free water refill 2 minutes along the prom as well.

  • 5/5

6m van fitted back to the sea, arrived at 21:01, left at 8:20, for £2, very peaceful spot.

  • 5/5

Great spot! And perfect for walking the dogs in the morning. Was quiet & level.

  • 4/5

Great spot for a stopover. The carpark was empty when we arrived at 8:30pm.You can’t visit Herne bay without sampling their Fish & Chips. The Fish & Chip shop is opposite the carpark and the fish was freshly cooked while we waited. Payment for the carpark was easy, the APNR registers your number on entry, and you pay at the machine just before departing. The cost for us (20:30 - 09:30) £4.20

  • 5/5

Perfect overnight stop. £2 overnight (2000-0830 hrs) and £1.50 an hour at other times. ANPR so calculates the cost for you. There was music from the nightclub but not loud enough to keep me awake. Only one other Motorhome staying overnight. There was a 24 hour toilet 0.4 miles away next to Cain’s Amusements if you were really desperate!

  • 5/5

Stayed here 25.10.22 for 1 night . arrived 9pm left 8 am no noise , no late night hot hatches as car park has a barrier . Cost £2 only . Fabulous view , great place to park and sleep . So much better than sleeping in lay-bys. I couldn’t see the camper van spaces . I was the only vehicle in the car park that night .

  • 5/5

Walked here from Swalecliffe. Saw some great art on the back of the beach huts. Bit busier here due to kids attractions. Nice walks along the promenade and along the pier. Watch the seaguls if you have food outside.

  • 4/5

Nice spot close to the town. a bit cramped for the motor homes, but another van parked in the normal spots, and backed on to the sea. no late music, so a nice quiet spot

  • 5/5

Thank you Park4 Night. The first time we the first time we have used the app and it worked perfectly. The car park is exactly as described, even down to the loud music which was not too loud and really quite pleasing. We ate at The Wine Bar nearby which we'd wholehearte 4dly recommend if you are looking to treat yourselves. Looking forward to a walk on the shingle beach in the morning.

  • 4/5

Stayed here as a single mum with 2 young children. I felt safe with other campers close by. Lots to do for the kids during the day. Bars were noisy across the road. Didn’t bother us too much but was a little irritating when you can hear 2 lots of music at the same time. Cost for parking very unclear. There was a screen that I tried looking up tariff but glare was terrible and wouldn’t let me scroll down to have a look at rest. Looked online and seems like it should have been £1.80 an hour and £2 between 8pm-8.30am. I got charged £19.80 between 4.45pm Saturday to 12.30 Sunday and can’t work out how. Has put us off a little but it’s local and a nice spot so will likely return but will be conscious to only stay a few hours and set up/pack up from home.

  • 5/5

Stayed over night right on beach , there is aloud bar didn’t stop us sleeping though , very quiet first thing

  • 5/5

Nice spot in a car park. Very quiet in early April but is near bars and would be louder in summer etc. Van got a good soaking from the waves which was quite exciting. Cost us £12.70 from 7.30pmish fri to 12pmish sat. Toilets near pier in daytime. Recommend

  • 4/5

Great spot. Now uses numberplate recognition as you go in, then when you leave you put your reg no in and pay what you owe. I searched for tariff info and eventually found it hidden away on a small board at knee level!!!!!!;. So I put a photo on here. Toilets close but can't get water. 50m from Wetherspoons if you like that.

  • 4/5

Pros - Near the shops and cafes one on the corner does a really good full English - Friendly locals - Sea views Cons - Opposite a bar and night club with music and flashing lights till gone 2am but if you can't beat them join them! it didn't bother us too much

  • 5/5

Really nice park up. Easy to navigate, no height restriction and cheap! Fair few pubs and restaurants around and only a short walk to the public toilets at the pier!

  • 5/5

Excellent spot!! Close to pub and cute little town

  • 5/5

Great location right on the front with a sea view. Well placed for town. Came on a Tuesday and had a nice peaceful night's stay.

  • 3/5

Easy to get to, great views but due to the pubs across the road very noisy.

  • 5/5

A fabulous spot right by the sea. Dedicated parking for motorhomes and campervans, practically empty when we arrived at 6.30pm on a Thursday night. A great peaceful night's sleep with only a sea breeze and the odd seagull for company, given it's central location. Payment for parking easy and reasonably priced considering the location. Well done Canterbury City Council for the positive approach.

  • 5/5

Fantastic sleep overnight. Quiet sleep. Lots to do in the local area.

  • 4/5

As described. Had a peaceful night with little noise considering it's location.

  • 5/5

Brilliant quiet night, loads of amenities available. Cater all size vans. £2 for overnight parking 8-8.

  • 4/5

I parked up for the night, I was really happy as it was right on the front and was only £2 for overnight 8pm -8am. Toilets in pubs nearby. A great little spot you can watch the sunset from.

  • 5/5

Great easy parkup with motorhome bays. Not free. Photos attached of prices.

  • 5/5

Stayed here for 1 night arriving at 5pm leaving at 12am the next day! It cost £10 but was great as had public toilets open and situated in a lovely town with a good view! Would defiantly recommend!

  • 5/5

Quiet stop by the sea and near to shops/pubs, with public toilets close by. parking is cheaper from October, so £1.30 an hour, then £2 for overnight from 8pm.

  • 5/5

Very good spot to park up. Got there on a very windy night but no issues otherwise.

  • 5/5

Had the QUIETEST night! difficult to believe when there are bars and a road so nearby. we arrived late afternoon, watched the sunset. we left after lunch the next day and paid £16.50. nice Turkish restaurant nearby. public toilets were nice!

  • 5/5

Lovely sea view. Whetherspoons pub 30 seconds walk away. Toilets 1 minute walk away. £1.70 overnight.

  • 4/5

Very nice, if you like Herne Bay and car park. Allocated camper parking spaces. Really is "God's waiting room" Just have to see the bigger picture.

  • 5/5

Slept well here last night in our camper. Only £2 for the night and short walk to public toilet and shower on beach.

  • 5/5

Perfect spot with spaces marked for motor homes.

  • 3/5

Stayed one night - 6 spaces for motor home overlooking the sea in a large car park . Auto barrier takes number plate details . It’s £2 from 8pm until 8.30 am . Calculates cost on exit . Good value. Opposite lots of bars and shops and a bit noisy but ok after 11ish . Would use again

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

    Great place for low cost
