Great stopover. Really welcoming, good wholesome food. Phoned ahead but no need to as plenty of space in the car park. WiFi available in the pub. Food served until 20:00, one or two craft ale choices. Locals were also friendly and welcoming. Would stay again without question!

Cracking country pub. Great atmosphere with the locals . They put the rugby on and we had a meal . Simple menu but very nice and not dear.£12 roughly each mains .

Great stopover, no charge, very friendly welcome from the staff, and locals, it's a smashing lil English pub, good ale, didn’t get a chance to eat cos they weren’t cooking that night . Pub is Dog friendly. WiFi available reaches into the carpark too. A quiet night's sleep bar the rain. Car park a good size, no amenities but can use pub toilet facilities when open, defo stop there again.

Can very much recommend! We called ahead but we were the only guests that stayed over night. Owners and locals are very lovely and the pub food was really delicious.

Great stopover. very warm welcome from the owners, it's a traditional English pub with good pub food. steak pie and chips was excellent and also the scampi and chips ,with good portions. WiFi available in the carpark too. A silent night's sleep.

arrived too late for food (it was a Sunday) but a very warm welcome from the owners

Very friendly landlord and locals. The kitchen has just closed as business has been slow however the reopened just for us and we had an excellent meal of steak pie made with local meat and vegetables. Slept well and enjoyed a run on the Hadrians wall path which runs along the road.

Landlord and landlady very friendly. Called ahead as we were going to arrive just as they were closing the kitchen, they stayed open for us and provided great food which with drinks was very fairly priced. Fantastic stop off for driving up to Gretna, we will definitely be back.

Das Pub hat sehr leckeres Essen und nettes Personal. Nebenan ist ein Sportplatz und in 10 min ein schöner Spielplatz.

great little friendly pub. free to stop the night if you buy a meal. nice village walks and quiet over night.

  • 5/5

We arrived as they were closing pub, staff member ran back and asked if it was OK for us to stay. No issues at all very friendly & happy to help. Hope to get back again and try food and beer.

Kein Service.

Stopped over in the van on the way back down from Scotland. We didn't book in advance. Warm welcome, parked in the back corner of the car park, one other van already there, plenty of room and nice and quiet. Good food and drink. Dog walking field next door. Would recommend.

Stopped here on way back from NC500. 15 minute drive from A74. No charge for parking overnight. No facilities. We didn’t book ahead. Friendly welcome from landlord and landlady. Welcomed our dogs. Food menu was limited due to recent take over of pub. We did have veggie burger and chips which was delicious, followed by a couple of pints. Great little stop over. Highly recommended.

Arrived late but received a warm welcome from the landlord and landlady including welcome biscuits for our two dogs. There wasn't any food available but that is planned for the near future. We bought some excellent beer/g&t and we were welcome to stay in their car park overnight. We spent a peaceful night, found that the pub is on the coast to coast walk and the site of a battle -photosq

No longer taking campervans!!....Pretty rude about it too!

  • 4/5

Good spot for a night stay. I gave them a ring in advance and they said it was ok to spend the night in their car park. They didn’t charge us as we had a fair amount of drinks. Toilets usually open until they close the pub (around 11pm ish), we left at 8:30am and they hadn’t opened them by then. Perfect location for dogs as there is a field next to the pub

  • 5/5

I rang ahead of time & then turned up to find a warm welcome. Good selection of beers & great freshly made pizzas. The car park is small, only really suitable for small vans, ie VW type not motorhomes, as they’ve recently built a new facility at the back. They didn’t charge for the night as I ate & drank in the pub. Great spot to stop overnight.

Great pub car park camper van stop over. Electric available if needed and fantasy pub food

  • 5/5

Rang first really friendly Arrived and because we didn't need EHU we parked the other side of the village green in a quiet, tidy, flat area a short 2 minute walk and within view of the pub. Dogs welcome and food and service were fab. Spent £45 on food and drinks, good value and park up not charged as we used the pub. Toilets open early morning but we have our own. I would definitely recommend

Amazing food. Friendly staff. Good sized car park. Bit of a slope unless you can get across the bottom but level blocks can handle it. Enjoyed our meal and night there.
