Large part of the area is being used for storage in relation to nearby roadworks and remaining space wasn't sufficient for parking responsibly. We moved on!

murphy1109/12/2023Found on forestry Scotland’s website. Arrived in the dark on the 8/12/24. One other van present. Slight slope, but positioned well without using chocks. Warden came around in the morning, left note on other vans windscreen. Extended Stay the night scheme until 2024, £7 for the night. Great stop over on way home and so close to the main road. Some slight noise, but hardly noticed.

Great stopover at side of A9, quiet location and undisturbed, there is noise from the A9 but you soon forget this as you do for the passing trains. On arrival though car park was being used for possible " naughty" liaison. Yes the car park isn't level but it's no issue, isn't why you're parking in nature the reason for you being there?

There were 4 campers when we stayed and it was fine. You can hear the A9 in the distance but otherwise a really good site. Good access to some lovely walks. We saw 2 owls whilst parked there.

Part of the forestry commission stay the night scheme. It's not very level so you need levelers. But it's got lots of lovely walks and bike rides from the car park and it's great to have a cheap place to stay near Dunkeld. Get there early though, it is only allowed 2 campers.

frustrating... arrived at dark having found site on forestry Web site ..ridiculously sloping carpark .. didnt stop
DaveD10002/10/2022Very quiet easy to find stop over off the A9. Surrounded by trees you do feel back to isolated but very safe. Max of 2 vans and you are on a slope. Not much road noise and slept well.
bertiebuggie30/08/2022Very handy for the A9. A bit sloped so you will probably need ramps. There is some traffic and rail noise although less at night.

This is a very small and isolated spot. The ground isn’t level and there is noise from the train and road. I did end up staying but only because there was another van - I wouldn’t have stayed if I’d been the only camper. Having said that waking up around by trees abs birds was amazing.

Fine for parking in the day but we stayed here overnight and level ground. We found it very noisy at night from the A9 and passing trains but the surrounding walls are lovely.

we stayed after noting this was part of the Stay the Night trial. Very convinient for Dunkeld. some sloping and noise from the A9 but we found it fine. surrounded by lovely trees. someone before had left toilet paper which we cleaned up as don't want them to ruin it for the rest of us.
