Located at the bottom of a picturesque valley next to an old forge, bakery and village hall. There are several places by the stream in the parking lot of the Town Hall. No overnight parking allowed! Lovely place to visit, but in my opinion not a suitable place for an overnight stay unless you are in a small campervan. There are only a few car sized places before the hight barrier. And no phone reception at all. Other than that Branscombe is worth a visit.
The drive down from Sidmouth side was hard work. Single track, and it’s busy, it’s even a bus route. So expect to pull your mirrors in, and hope you meet the same bus driver who shuffled back and forwards to allow a vehicle into then out of a small passing spot. Eventually arrived and found it had a HEIGHT BARRIER… and no phone signal.
