I accessed via Fort Lower promenade Rd. Stayed 1 night 8/2/2024. There is plenty of room, busy during the day, but empties after 5pm. Very quiet overnight and felt safe.

Entrance is at the Turner end and is then one way. Drive through the pay and display and continue towards the dead end. Parking is free here. Nice and quiet overnight listening to the waves. This end is used by local businesses staff as they know it’s free so cars start arriving at 6 am. Nice dog walk if you walk through the dead end along the beach. Walk the opposite way into Margate.

If you are parking in the free section beyond the car park be careful of parking up against the barriers if it’s a very windy night & tide is in! The water hits the sea wall and sprays up and over and got a bit worrying at times!

If you pass through the first 'pay' car park you arrive in another parking area totally free of charge. Fabulous views and plenty of room for all vehicles. Would definitely use again.

Very Quiet, ANPR Entry/Exit. Slight charge for over night (£8 for 15hours) Direct Ocean View. Local to all main strip with restaurants, bars, shops.

  • 4/5

Large area of slightly haphazard parking, with no apparent restrictions or charges posted. Right on sea, beneath cliff. Tight access and turning so may be tricky for larger MHs

  • 2/5

It is now a one way system entering by the Turner Center and is a pay and display.

Still free as of 29/02/2020! lots of spaces and right by the beach. public toilets about 300m away.

Couldn’t see any restrictions. No ticket machines. No visible wardens/ attendants. Didn’t stay overnight as we had already paid for somewhere else but, I should imagine it would be ok, albeit, the area itself is a little run down and someone’s been very busy with the spray paint.....! Lovely sea view to wake up to though.
