Ländlicher Parkplatz gleich die Straße hinauf. Fuhr nach Strensall (großes Dorf mit guten Geschäften und Kneipen). Etwa 4-5 Meile von York. Ziemlich kleiner Ort mitten in Strensall Common. Größerer Parkplatz weiter unten an der Straße. Guter Zugang von der A64.

Stayed here last night with no issues and was fine this time last year too. There are some freight trains pass through the night but felt safe and slept well, hear some shooting in the distance from 830am but there’s a time table on display to tell you when they will be training for the week.
Stayed one night. I had no issues. But there are signs warning of MOD training.
Arrived late afternoon it looked like an ideal spot. However just after dark there was a noise outside, something hit my windscreen (possible a BB gun) which has left a small hole in the windscreen. Didn't stay, as didn't feel safe!
Stayed here a couple of times now with no issues to report. large off road lay by near to railway line and MOD. Road noise limited later in the evening and same with trains. lovely walks in surrounding area. No bins etc so please leave as you find
Large lay by just off road (quiet at night) had no problems staying the night here. Dog walkers late at night and also in the morning.
Stayed the night in the rest stop across the road from the buildings. The location is above average distance from the road so it's quite safe. Not too many cars passing by.There is a walking track next to the building which is also next to a railway line.If there is one thing to take into account it's the army troops training ground nearby. The signpost has a notice when they will be active.
Une nuit passée ici en dodo, voiture. Les militaires (il me semble) sont venus nous voir dans la nuit, sans sortir de la voiture. On est sur un terrain militaire donc ils surveillent mais aucun souci. Très calme
Ottimo luogo dove dormire gratuitamente per visitare York, nessun servizio.
Car Park Public, promenade toutou. Proche de la route, mais calme la nuit. Bien pour une étape nocturne sans service.
