Super petit endroit. Appelé parking Croix Blanche sur Google. Interdit la nuit.

Roads in a narrow I have 28ft m/home no real worry with normal care single track nice views loads of forest walks used by dog walkers but still superb hope you all find the great nature here quite. Awesome little spot. Called White Cross carpark on Google. Prohibited at night.

Toller kleiner Ort. Wird bei Google White Cross Carpark genannt. Nachts verboten.

police came around 8pm, didn't feel like a safe area after they made their presence known, police said it is a hotspot for people using drugs, horrible location to get to, and police were approaching every car or van to "check up" on people, they were just looking for reasons to search vehicles

  • 1/5

Extraordinary view, but there's a no overnight parking sign right at the entrance. Perhaps this should be reclassified as a Day Only lot, in which case it would get a much better rating.

  • 5/5

Great view and a hiking starting point. On a sunday evening two cars arrived in the evening with young people having a good time. We didn't mind. From 23 it was quiet all night. There is enough space for several vans. Dog walkers in the morning.

  • 4/5

Beautiful view. Great nature walking in the forest in the fields. Minimal cell service. DO NOT DRIVE FROM THE SOUTH (ottery lane) There are no signs for overnight camping. On the Saturday morning lots of people come by to exercise, walk their dogs, and go running. On Friday night a few kids came by to smoke but they were very chill. Wonderful spot. We left a shell for the alter we found

  • 5/5

Amazing view. From A375 don't take Ottery Lane, take Greenhead for less "we're gonna die" kind of road ! No signs prohibiting overnight stays in late may 2023. But some weirdo went by at 11pm, drifted and honked to bother us and the two others who choses this place tonight. Not usual I guess but saying it anyway, might helps.

  • 5/5

Prachtig uitzicht & sunset.

  • 5/5

Great spot with great views . Lots of dog walkers use the car park. Small narrow uphill country roads to get to it.

  • 1/5

    Helaas, geen overnachting toegestaan.

  • 1/5

forestry commission signs now say no overnight parking. such a shame, stayed for sunset and moved on.

  • 5/5

Lovely place to stop for the night. Amazing views of sunset and amazing views in the morning. Lots of dog walkers around 7ish. Would recommend

  • 5/5

Really nice spot, can be busy in morning with dog walkers. Great sunset and views, teenagers use this as a hangout who litter which is a shame. Try and keep it tidy

  • 4/5

We had a lovely 1 night stay, nice forest walks going off from the car park. The best sunset views from your van if you can get a spot overlooking the valley. The only downside was that there we’re teenagers who turned up in a car who left some rubbish. but they didn’t stay too long. No bins, so need to take rubbish with you.

  • 4/5

Wonderful views, room for several vehicles and totally quiet after 9pm. Fair few dog walkers early am and no trouble- just leave no trace. No signs saying no overnight parking like a previous comment mentioned - just a sign saying no fires and BBQS. Also easy to access depending on which road in you take - there's a narrow road and a wide road so check your route before driving!

  • 3/5

Beautiful views but very narrow road access, even in our T5. Was surprised how busy it was. We tucked ourselves out the way and stayed all afternoon to hide from the sun and there was a constant flow of dog walkers. Not the peaceful place I’d hoped and people didn’t seem very friendly. Prob not worth the drive

  • 4/5

great sunset views (but only a few spaces facing the view point). only 2 other vans when we stayed, a few dog walkers in evening and morning, but quiet through the night. no bins, keep it tidy.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

stunning views. lovely and quiet. thanks for sharing this beautiful spot.

  • 3/5

Repeating the comments if others it's a nice spot but the route in is narrow at best and depending which route you select you will have vegetation touching both sides of the vehicle simultaneously if in a larger vehicle (we are 7.5 x 2.35). it's a nice place, lovely view etc. but probably not worth the effort/aggravation in a larger vehicle.

  • 4/5

Lovely place to park for the night with great view and completely undisturbed. Only real problem is access roads, which is why 4* not 5*. Would happily sleep here again. Many thanks to Forestry Commission for making this car park freely available overnight. I wish National Trust would take the same attitude to public assets. Thank you. Well worth the effort.

  • 5/5

lovely spot. assuming it will be busy in peak season, I stayed for 1 night while working in the area. plenty of room, perfect for dog walk. :)

  • 5/5

Lovely spot nice views. There were 2 other vans parked when we stayed over bank holiday weekend in May. Dog walkers do start arriving from 630am but otherwise a perfectly quiet spot. There aren’t any facilities or bins and there were some people who didn’t tidy up after themselves so we did pick up their rubbish. I think if people are respectful there is no issue staying.

  • 5/5

Lovely level spot with a great view and even a small picnic area for outdoor eating. It's a car park for the local nature area so it's good for a walk too. There's pretty decent signal and absolutely loads of space.

  • 5/5

Lovely little spot - spent the night here no issues great view in the morning -

  • 5/5

Fantastic Sunday night here. Place to ourselves. Earliest dog walker was 8.15am. We’ll be back.

  • 4/5

Spend a lovely night here. quite busy with hikers, dogwalkers, tiktokking girls and people come to watch the sunset. but we weren't bothered, felt safe. beautiful view! there are about 4 spots overlooking the view and more facing other ways. public foorpaths nearby. the road to get there is narrow.

  • 4/5

Great stop over with lovely views, not the most level but didn’t bother me too much, shame it was sooooo wet when I visited!

  • 5/5

Amazing spot! Beautiful view and sunset. Dog walkers in the morning but no one bothered me at all. It’s fairly out the way so I imagine it’s used mostly by locals, so I’m not sure I’d want to stay for more than a night or two. Very handy as a stop over on the way down to Cornwall on the A303!

  • 5/5

Good place for our motorhome for the night , 6am dog walkers made a big issue about vans parking here being really loud and didn't realise I was listening to them oops lol , otherwise a good spot

  • 5/5

A beautiful spot with amazing views. As noted before, the entry roads from the south are very tight, but doable if you take it easy. The main car park can be quite busy with walkers/herb based enthusiasts! If you carry on into the woods along the gravel road (we’ll surfaced) for approx 500m and turn right there is a large flat clearing with loads of room. No views, but less traffic passing thru.

  • 5/5

Excellent overnight spot with stunning views. **warning approach roads are narrow and potholed** the best way in/out is from the north

  • 5/5

Beautiful views in the middle of nature.Narrow paths to get there especially when driving with a camper van. No one was there when we arrived at 9pm. However, another van arrived at 11pm and midnight. Also, just be aware people started to come to the car park from 5am to walk the dogs or go for a walk in nature. Still, quite nice to wake up to the sound of the birds and sheep, and beautiful.

  • 5/5

This is one of my favourite spots to stay overnight in the U.K. It’s such a beautiful place to stay as the views are absolutely amazing! One of the roads to get there was super narrow, but that’s to be expected in this area, however another road we took leaving the area was perfectly fine, If you park along the side of the hilltop you can open your camper door and look out onto the stunning rolling hills. There are a few walks surrounding the carpark so there are lots of places to walk and see around the area. We stayed a couple of nights ago where the wind was absolutely ridiculous! It kept my boyfriend up all night, so we turned the van around facing the other way so that the wind didn’t rock the van as much. Despite this, I still loved my stay and would definitely come back here again if I was in the area.

  • 5/5

Wonderful views and a nice flat surface for an easy nights sleep. Get there before dark to take advantage of the sun setting over picturesque rolling fields. completely free and no annoying signs saying "no overnight stay". It is a small road to get there however ww were fine in our -what used to be a- 16 seater LDV mini bus. Well worth a night's stay.

  • 4/5

Narrow road leading to viewpoint carpark. I had no problem but there isn't many passing places. Great view on edge of woodlands, another good place if you have dogs. extremely busy early evening with walkers etc.

  • 5/5

AMAZING! Long dark road to get in, keep the faith and carry on to the location on the map. Lovely spot, very quiet and dark at night. There were 3 vans parked up on a Friday evening. Stunning views in the morning, car park does get busy with dog walkers. Lots of space in the carpark, but there are 4 spaces that are nice and flat, please don’t be that guy that parks across all 4 of them!

  • 5/5

Stayed for one night. Great spot with stunning views. Narrow lanes leading up to it but we managed in our Motorhome. The dog loved it as great forest walks, picnic benches etc. There was someone that came up in a car in the early hours, flashing their lights and then driving away beeping their horn but apart from that a very night. Just youngsters showing off. There were 7 vans there in total. Would definitely stay there again.

  • 5/5

Stayed here for one night. Great spot with stunning view. Narrow lanes leading up to it but we managed fine in our 8.5

  • 5/5

Stayed here for one night. Absolutely beautiful view. Narrow lanes to get to it but we managed in our 7.5

  • 5/5

Great spot! Wonderful views and close to nature.

  • 5/5

Brilliant find. Fantastic views and quiet night. Hold your nerve if coming along the narrow lane, you won't regret it! One other camper here last night, lots of rain!

  • 5/5

Fantastic location with killer views. Deffo park up in one of the 4/5 spots with the best view....will become available once dog walkers have gone home so worth holding out for one. Some nice woodland walks and near by pretty villages. Local police stopped by for a break and said they would never move people on from this spot.

  • 3/5

Lovely spot but tricky to get to due to the narrow lanes and a lot of farm traffic. Beautiful view. Site is on a bit of a slope. There were two others overnighting here.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, amazing views, loads of parking spaces. We had no problems finding it. The postcode takes you to a smaller road but if you follow signs to white cross car park you will find it.

  • 4/5

Lovely view, plenty of space, there is a sign saying car park closed but no one bothered us, a couple of 4x4s in the evening and the standard dog walkers and horses in the morning. Peace out.

  • 1/5

Car park closed, looks like forestry work.

  • 1/5

Sat nav takes your wrong way and really narrow country lanes

  • 5/5

Lovely view if you can get a spot by the edge, we had a pleasant overnight stay.

  • 2/5

An otherwise beautiful spot ruined by the local chavs and their passion for skunk, donk music and honking the horns of their corsas. 2 stars.

  • 5/5

One of the prettiest places we’ve ever stayed. Wonderful views and very quiet at night. No signs with restrictions. Narrow road to get there from a southern direction. Try approaching it from the north. Superb location

  • 5/5

This place is amazing. I echo the comments others have made about the roads up to it, but it’s worth the slog. We had the place almost to ourselves after dark - you’re always going to get young couples in cars in these spots! Very quiet though, and stunning views in the morning.

  • 5/5

Tolle Aussicht.

  • 3/5

Access roads very narrow and difficult when meeting other traffic. Wonderful sunset view. Ground is not level. Evenings attract groups of boys in old cars with loud music, suppose they stay out rather than watch tv with their mums. Lots of walks in the forest. The car park is forestry commission. Many of the car parks in this area are privately owned, this one is not. No facilities, no bins. Don’t do this one in a coach built, our 6m Boxer was a tight fit.

  • 4/5

OK for smallish vans - ours is 6.4 metres. Pleasant night's sleep despite it being very windy early in the evening. Slightly sloping. A few cars came and went during the late evening but no real disturbance. Best approached from the north-north-east (Honiton) direction. Narrow road but at least it is straight and flat with a few passing places.

  • 5/5

Great views over the valley, nice wood. great for dogs. steep climb. woukd not be very level if it's busy. good 4g. Lots of lay by as well.

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot. beautiful to wake up in our bongo here

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot. Amazing views to finish the evening and really quiet.

  • 3/5

Lovely stop but take care not to go Fire Beacon way. Road is very narrow and overgrown, we made it in just over 25ft home but it scratched sides quite a bit and wouldn't have wanted to meet anyone coming opposite way... We left via Chineway Hill and Broad Street which was much better. Lovely view.

  • 5/5

    It's fantastic
