Loved this spot - very secluded and quiet. Lovely walks by the river & the Abby is stunning.

A really nice spot, next to the river and not far away from the ruins of an old Abbey.

vanlifefamily423/10/2022We’ve stayed in this location several times over a couple of years on route to Scotland. However, this time we noticed ‘No Overnight Parking’ signs when we woke up in the morning! Such a shame because it’s a lovely spot and we have always text a donation to the English Heritage as asked.

Nice spot near the ruins and river. 30 min walk to the town and lots of walks nearby.

Nice little spot. A few 2alkers gone past but not a lot of cars. Very quiet in the night and is very nice to hear the river flowing just down the hill next to the parking. Nothing here but a pull in to park but if that's all you need then spot on.

Lovely spot quite and flat. No bins or toilets. The Abby is fantastic and full of history.

pippym24/02/2019Quiet spot, just noise from the river. Very little traffic going by at night. Nice walk into Barnard Castle along river(took us 35 mins). Walked back via road, make sure you take a torch. No amenities.
