Great spot. Very quiet at night, and such a delight to wake up right next to the abbey which is beautiful. Car park gets busy quickly so staying overnight helps beat the crowds too. And highly recommend the Anchor Inn too. Great pub - hearty meals and good atmosphere!

  • 5/5

Arrived at 5pm with plenty of parking spaces available. Stopped into the pub to ask if ok to stay, nice welcome and informed no problems at all. Lovely pub with lots of food/drink choice! They will refund parking ticket if you spend over £5. Great walks in the area and fantastic park up right in front of the abbey!

  • 5/5

Spent two nights here. Pub were happy for us to park across two bays as bays are small. £5 parking redeemable if you spend over £10 in pub (easily done!) Very beautiful 5 mile hike (loop) up to the Devils Pulpit. Abbey impressive. Bins available nearby. Very popular at weekends, even off season.

  • 4/5

Quiet at night. Decent food. Super busy car park during the day with little to no space. Best bet seems to be to turn up extremely early or after 5pm.

  • 5/5

wonderful stopover. Beautiful walks and views. The pub is a bit of a let down in our opinion. The food is overpriced and of below standard quality. The drinks are also expensive but everywhere is nowadays. All in all this is a great place to spend some time. Spending some money in the town and pub to put back in to the local economy is fair so we can keep this wonderful little parkup going.

  • 5/5

What can I say. Beautiful area, great pub, £5 parking but redeemable in the pub. Even logged onto the pubs WiFi and it reached the van. Perfect!

  • 5/5

Pub food was good, very quiet Sunday evening. Parked with a rooftop tent, very quiet night.

  • 5/5

Stayed one night, parking cost removed from cost of meal at the pub, left by 9am. Pub food was good, quiet spot overnight.

  • 5/5

Great place to stayover in a motorhome. Busy during daytime weekend, but quiet at night and had restful sleep and felt safe. Stayed 2 nights and ate and drank in the pub for the two days during our stay and the food was satisfactory - what a great business initiative by the pub where everybody benefits. We would definitely recommend to others.

  • 3/5

We eat in the Anchor which was very mediocre. We arrived at 7.30 so didn’t have to pay for parking. The sign clearly say’s no overnight parking but there was about 10 vans overnighting. We had a quiet night.

  • 5/5

stayed the night £5 ate in the Anchor food was ok got the parking refunded a few vans there over night good sleep after pub closed it does say no overnight but pub is fine with it we went by 9 am as stated would recommend

  • 1/5

deel parking gesloten. Rest geen ruimte voor campers.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Lovely spot for a park up, right next to the Abbey ruin.. Signs say no overnight parking, however pub staff say it's ok to park overnight. Had a lovely meal in pub and refunded cost of parking. Quite a few vans stayed over. Would definitely stay again!

  • 5/5

Great place to stay and food at the pub next door is great!

  • 4/5

lovely stay. £3 parking between 8am and 6pm but refunded in pub or abbey when something is purchased. Great view of the Abbey. Great food at the pub and lovely walk through village. stayed 10.3 to 12.3

  • 5/5

Another vote for this as a great stopover. Car park is flat and very quiet at night. Lovely spot right by the river and abbey. Lots of lovely walks and Anchor Inn is very cosy and good food.

  • 5/5

Really lovely stopover - the carpark is flat, there are toilets avalible in the middle building between the anchor in and the entrance to the abbey building located to the left of the abbey. apart from some loud cars who came to look at the abbey at around 10pm for all of 15/20, mins it was pretty much silent Pub carvery was lovely! staff very friendly. I solo camped this and felt very safe.

  • 5/5

Great spot for an overnighter. Can confirm £3 refund from car park charge on orders at the Anchor pub. The pub manages the car park and staff always say it’s fine to stay overnight. 3 times so far and zero problems. Overflow car park is flat. It’s busy on a Saturday due to local footy match (from 1:30 until about 4pm).

  • 5/5

Lush hard standing car park owned by The Anchor Inn, £3 pay and display but is refunded if you the pub for food or drink, toilets over the road by the entrance of Tintern Abbey or the pub within opening hours. Stunning view of the Abbey from the Van, clean and peaceful, a good nights sleep had by us both.

  • 5/5

Sehr ruhige Nacht hier. Danke lieber Pub.

  • 2/5

Lots of signs saying no over night parking, even though the pub said it was ok. Pub food was ok, but a bit pricey for what it was.

  • 5/5

Brilliant location. Was really busy when we arrived at around 8pm but luckily a van left so we managed to fit in. Abbey cost £8.30 each but was great. Sunday dinner in the pub was absolutely beautiful and we had £3 off our bill with the parking ticket coupon :) some cute shops a 5 minute walk from the car park.

  • 5/5

Location is amazing! Pub is super modern and friendly. Public toilets are open early! Nice quiet stay for the night

  • 5/5

Impressive abbey, parked at the inner parking surrounded by bushes, very quiet at night. Signs say "no overnight" and "no motorhomes beyond here", we went into the bar to ask and they told us it was perfectly all right to spend the night. Got £3 back when we ordered beer. Watched local football team practise in the evening, very entertaining. Public toilets open before 8am. Really great spot!

  • 5/5

fantastic stop, stayed for 2 nights in April. quiet night, cycled the 1km old railway tunnel. stunning

  • 5/5

Overflow carpark vandaag gesloten. Prima plek.

  • 5/5

Quiet spot in corner of pub overflow car park. Level, super view of abbey. Good pub food too!

  • 5/5

super friendly beautiful place, 1night stay no issues.

  • 5/5

We stayed 2 nights, fairly quiet at night. flat parking possible on the main car park right next to the toilets, which were open 8am-6pm. pub serves good food £3 for 24hrs with coins only.

  • 4/5

Nice place to stop. Make sure you use the tarmacced car park directly behind the pub beer garden/kids play area and they are more than happy to let you stay overnight. Arrived late and left early so no ticket required - eat and drink in the pub. Other adjacent car parks are also used by Abbey visitors and the Abbey object to overnight campers

  • 4/5

I parked on the pub car park, went for a lovely meal and they said i did not need a ticket, So that was that - Very busy pub, get onsite as early as you can, This place is a must stay!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Parkplatz sehr stark frequentiert. Nachts aber ruhig.

  • 5/5

Great spot if self contained. The pub is more than happy for campers staying overnight. We eat in the pub good value and great food. Carvery on Friday. No services but amazing spot to wake up to.

  • 5/5

Spent a great Saturday evening here. Views and surrounding area beautiful. Good pub for food / drink. Couldn’t access toilet so made do without. Strong 4G on O2 so could stream Champs Lge final. Nice walk up to The Devil’s Pulpit the next morning. We’ll definitely be back!

  • 5/5

planned to stay here for one night but ended up staying for two. lovely place, good food at the pub and free drink with parking ticket. waking up to the view of the abbey way amazing. great spot

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Can’t believe this is a spot! What a place to wake up. Very quiet, despite there being quite a few vans. Lovely walks all around. Public toilets nearby are very clean and the views are amazing.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot nice level but we turned up at 2pm absolutely mental but be patient it’s worth it

  • 4/5

£3 for 24hrs (£3 redeemable by Anchor Inn if you spend more than £3 in the pub) There are signs for no overnight parking. However the pub staff were more than happy to let us stay as we were eating and drinking in the pub. They just recommend the first 2 carparks as you come in, not the other around the corner. Nice and quiet Saturday evening with about 4 other campers staying.

  • 3/5

We left at 23:00 as some drunks in another campervan where shouting and playing loud music. Seamed like a nice place otherwise… We could not find a place to pay however (after dark). Also don’t drive into the overflow through the exit as your tires wil be sliced!

  • 3/5

January most things are closed . But that doesn't worry me as its the views I am interested in. Views are lovely. £3 to park for 24 hours. Anchor carpark If you eat in The Anchor then you can have the £3 off your bill. win win. worth visiting

  • 4/5

Lovely little spot right next to Abbey . Parking free 6pm -8am , £3 daily. We had a meal in the pub before heading back to our van ( had to use our torch as car park not very well lit ) for a peaceful night's sleep

  • 5/5

Can’t fault this location. Very quiet after about 10pm, couple of other vans, but 2 large car parks, so not treading on each others toes. Public toilet right nearby (next to the cafe) which were 24h when we were here (November) views of the river, abbey and woodland are lovely. Didn’t have to pay as arrived late and no one checking for tickets still at 9am. However it’s only £3 for the day anyway.

  • 4/5

Great quiet spot to park overnight, was a bit of confusion over which car park we could stay in overnight as they all say no overnight on the parking boards but we stayed in the overflow to the main anchor carpark(even tho it says no campervans!) was lovely and quiet, just check with the pub to say your staying and they are fine with it …

  • 5/5

We stayed in the car park opposite the Abbey for £3, well worth a visit to walk around the Abbey, very peaceful. The Anchor Inn next door allows you to park in their overflow car park overnight, they are currently on limited opening hours due to staff shortages. There are other pubs and cafes nearby.

  • 5/5

13/10/21: Parking free 6pm-8am/£3 which is refundable if you use pub/Abbey. Back car park not for campers. Very quiet night. Pub closed Tues and Wed. Great stop over for us just passing through but we will be back to see the abbey and surrounding town. Pub looks like it would be very nice food. Note: A little tight for LWB vans if car park is busy but we squeezed in no problem.

  • 5/5

Amazing view of the abbey fairly flat and very sheltered and secure. the pub next to it serves great food but does get busy so you might want to book

  • 5/5

Nice quiet and flat spot for overnight parking. Very busy with motor homes. A short walk to a few pubs and public toilets nearby.

  • 5/5

Excellent flat parking. Very busy car park. only problem was 2 large motorhomes parked sideways across 5 spaces each. THINK PLEASE!! the owners will have only collected £6 off you instead of £30.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay, nice and flat and super quiet. Bonus to have a pub near by. It’s a great journey break heading from north England to South Wales. Will be using this spot again. We didn’t manage to see the abbey as you need to pre book. Perhaps that obvious, but we missed out this time. There were other people in the car park and some people cooking bacon in the morning with no fuss.

  • 5/5

£3 car park fee can be refunded if you buy from the Anchor pub or the Abbey. Free 6pm. to 8am. We checked with pub staff that we were allowed to stay overnight. Pub busy. Book a table in advance. Very quiet night.Cycle or walk along river.

  • 5/5

Great spot this overflow car park and main car park for pub / abbey does say no overnight parking but parking is expected and allowed. £3 a night - that £3 is returnable if eat in pub. Good food at pub. Plenty of other places to eat. Great for dogs, walking, cycling and foodies x

  • 4/5

It does say no overnight parking but if you eat at the pub and ask they are very obliging but don’t park outside the abbey. Nice quiet pitch by the river.

  • 5/5

Stayed for one night, toilets open all day (locked at night) and bins. We stayed overnight, (as did a few others) with no issues. Right by the abbey, a pub nearby and some lovely walks.

  • 2/5

Turned up here to stay tonight, says on the board NO OVERNIGHT PARKING. so having to move on.

  • 4/5

Direkter Blick auf die Tintern Abbey
