Good little stop off point near the town. Fairly quiet at night but cars still going past quite late. I woke up at about 5 ish this morning and already had a fair ish bit of traffic going by. I parked at the very end but did face my back doors (my bed) to the road (my mistake) but don't think it would make a huge difference in the noise level. I'm used to silence out in the sticks :D
Stayed here for one night and a lovely little location. Had no issues and would recommend for an overnight stay. 4G signal on both EE and Vodafone, local park near by and a co-op and fuel station up the road
The post code is a 'rough guide". it is a "picnic area" looking onto a huge field. It is approx 400 m either before/ after the post code actual location, depending upon your direction. The picnic area is indeed flat, but the left hand side, being the worse for wear, had a slight drop along its length with a 1m width. No height or other restrictions. A good place to rest up. a pub closeby.
Good location and safe, quiet parked at the rear. Close to the town with good pub selling food, and nightly offers. May fit more than 2 vans if parked sensible
great stop, nice walks felt safe overnight slight road noise but we were parked nearer to entrance. would definitely use again.
We stayed for 1 night, arriving quite late and there were already 4 vans parked up, another arrived after us. Good location and overlooks the cricket pitch. 4G connectivity good here.

We stayed here last night, if you park right it’s Level, quiet, good phone signal, short walk to the river, couple of pubs close by. Will return here when in the area again

Nice quiet spot. Agree with other users. Level, easy access. No restrictive notices and FREE. Used the toilet facilities at The Whitworth Centre just up the road, where we were greeted with a welcoming friendly face
Nice little spot. Some road noise but not a problem. A selection of dog walkers coming with cars. Close to square and compass. No problems at all. Owned by council, only sign says picnic area.
We stay here quite a lot and never have any problems. There are two pins in walking distance, the square and compass is okay but Barringtons is better.
The pictures above are actually of the cricket grounds next to the park up. Plenty of space for several campervans, carpark also used by dog walkers and fishermen. We stayed alongside one other van (and would have been space for more) however this is not level, some uneven surface and bumps on road. We managed to get flat by parking parallel to the grass verge
Very small car park. Not really suitable for anything other than SMALL campers
Great views and plenty of space on the grass verge as well. No amenities as mentioned but the cricket ground and pub may serve the public needs. Overnight noise was high over the weekend, mainly due to live music at the square and compass pub and for the heavy motorcycle use (to/from). Very near to campsite suitable for larger vehicles. That said, no height restrictions or barrier at this stop.
