Lovely spot. Corner shop about 2 miles away, easy access to road routes through cheddar & surrounding villages. Toilet was open 24hr basic but very clean and always stocked up. Goats made an appearance so great for nature lovers! Could hear the cattle grid but this stopped after home time rush hour, no bother over night.

parking très bruyant à causes des grilles anti passage d'animaux sur lesquelles roulent les voitures. Il y a beaucoup de trafic. Les toilettes ont le mérite d'exister pour les urgences.

You need to be a heavy sleeper here, or have a good pair of ear plugs, because of the cattle grid 30 feet away, on a very busy road even at night time. Toilets aren’t the best.

Stayed on the evening of 20th August 2023. Lots of traffic noise all night, made much worse by the cattle grid causing a very poor night. Heavy plant and farm machinery seemed to be active all night. The toilet block was ok when we arrived, though after returning a few hours later found someone had taken a dump on the floor in the middle of the main room. Absolutely grim.

Occasional road traffic and noise from the cattle grid but overall quite quiet, slept through the night in our car with no issues. toilets kept very nice and clean and free by the work of volunteers only, please donate to support if you can!

Nice spot. Bit noisy with the cattle grid but you get used to it. Few boy racers around but just leave them too it and they will soon go. There is a spot further up that may be quieter.

stopped off here after visiting Cheddar Gorge. toilets open 24 hours, and someone cleaned and restocked the toilet roll sometime in the morning. I highly recommend! road pretty quite from midnight onwards, and you get used to the cattle grid sound. a few dog walkers in the morning, and a group of people thought we were caving people, so might be a meeting point for people to do caving.

Loos are handy but the cattle grid is a bit noisy. Try the next layby 100 yds up the gorge.

Great spot - the place has goats roaming around so pretty entertaining as they come down off the hill. The cattle grid is only a mild issue. The ground though is not very flat

  • 5/5

Nice spot for a night stop - clean toilets with H & C running water. The cattle grid will make it memorable stay!!

Nice surrounding in the valley. Spent the evening watching goats on the cliff face. The Road is quite busy all night past 10pm so if you dont like traffic noise not suitable.

A god send to have toilets for us, nice views of the rocks and cliffs around. Cattle grid…. Ugh, I’d like to say you get used to it but it’s still loud through the night. Group of teens and adults arrived around 8:30 for rock climbing and heard them discussing tapping on my window to ask me to move. Felt a bit weird after that and did move on. But it was a good stop over.

Cool parking area under a cliff, layby goes quite far back from the road. Toilets open all night, with a contribution box. The road was really busy all night and the cattle grid was very loud. Nice park up if you are a deep sleeper.

loads of space to park all up the Combe. first car park has toilets where as the others dont. bit nosey from the cattle grid and lots of cars driving through but all in all a good spot.

  • 5/5

nice quiet location apart from cars going over the cattle grid. loads of room for a few campers. you'll have to move round a bit to find a level parking as some of its not level. in the morning the car park will be full of cars for climbers/children climbing the rocks behind. stayed here many times. 24hr toilet with a honest box outside so I put a few quid in and leave a couple of loo rolls ☺️

Another lay-by further up the road if the sound of the cattle grid is too much. Fairly noisy road with big lorries passing. Great scenery and forrest walks around. Most importantly-an undisturbed nights sleep.

  • 5/5

Clean toilets and there is a pub or restaurant a few meters further. Don't know if it's open as I was passing early in the morning.

  • 2/5

Nice location and good that there’s toilets but we couldn’t park because it just wasn’t quite level enough

  • 4/5

Pretty good spot, road was quite busy till late, and you can definitely hear cars hit the cattle grid! Good nights sleep tho!

  • 5/5

Great little stop, with toilets to boot! The road was not as much of a problem as we had anticipated. We were very glad of the loos which are basic but clean. A lovely restful night.

  • 3/5

Stayed the night and had a great scramble up the rocks sat on the top and watched sun go down. The loos were locked due to COVID but looked okay. very busy first thing with dog walkers and yes surprisingly busy road.

  • 5/5

Stayed the night, quiet night with a little bit of road noise. toilets on site

  • 3/5

Nice surroundings areas, however quiet a busy road. The cattle grid adds extra noise. Toilets available.
