Now illegal to overnight. Rural car park with fantastic hillside views, ideal for walking around, especially in the Sugarloaf mountain. Good 4G signal. Access is best direct from Abergavenny but involves about a mile and a half of steady uphill climbing in a lane with few overtaking, some of this road was quite narrow for our build motorhome.

No overnights, part of the wave of Brecon beacon national park camping closures

Unless you’ve got something smaller than a Ducato & it’s not new paint forget this place it’s horrendous track with uncut hedges - no passing places & you’d never reverse out if you met something, it’s not level yes it’s quiet & has great views it’s just not worth the stress - do not go up with a coach built Motorhome & do NOT attempt the old Brecon road - DEFINITELY only go up from Abergavenny

Unfortunately no camping signs are up

There is no longer overnight parking at this spot. Signage now up, £3000 fine if caught. There are regular patrols by the authorities.

Fab views, beautiful place to stay the night. Windy lanes lead to the spot so take care. Good wifi signal, a bonus. No bins so PLEASE take your litter home. I did a sweep of the area as I left as there was a little litter that had been left by other people. PLEASE take ALL your rubbish with you as littering gives campervan lovers a bad name.

A lovely spot but unfortunately we were asked to leave by a local resident because of the litter and disturbance caused by other people in campervans in this car park. Please remember to be respectful of locals and nature when wild camping!

Absolutely stunning and perfect location - had a quiet Saturday night after walking up the sugar loaf mountain .. get busy in the day so need to be prepared to park late evening and leave early morning to prevent getting blocked in .. but overall fantastic quick stop night

Absolutely brilliant spot, busy during the day with walkers but fantastic views in the morning, we parked up late in the evening and woke up to a sunny welsh valley outside the back doors. No facilities at all as expected but very nice for a one night stop off.

Lovely views, flat and a great spot for walking up the Sugarloaf (a 2 hr round trip). No other vans were there. Some cars until evening. At 9pm on the dot some 'yoof' pulled up playing loud music but they only stayed 30 mins. No facilities.

Good spot. Quiet. Room for around 6 campers. Be aware of the narrow, overgrown lane with few passing places leading up to the parking!

We stayed here for the Abergavenny food festival and loved it. We walked down the hill into the town which is very steep but only to about 30 minutes. We were lazy and got a taxi back up after a “few” drinks! We would recommend this spot as the views are amazing and we were surprised to be the only ones staying here on probably the busiest weekend of the year for Abergavenny

Great little spot. Narrow access probably not suitable for big vans. Undisturbed nights sleep. No services. No refuse point. Only used overnight so cannot comment on the local area.

Stunning view point, car park has spaces for a few Van's but ground not all flat

  • 5/5

    Roads narrow but great location

Beautiful spot with amazing views, lovely walk down to Abergavenny which has everything you need. Steep walk back up but worth it for the views and peaceful surroundings.
