Spent New Year’s Eve here. Beautiful place. Very quiet at night. Easy 20 min walk to base of steep walk/steps up to Thor’s Cave. There isn’t any phone signal so it feels “back to nature “. Roads coming in are narrow but the views are superb. No bins, so please take all rubbish away with you. Will definitely be coming back.

You can hear the river at night as it runs over a small weir. Very peaceful and quiet. We spent New Year’s Eve 2020 here. No one in car park after 5pm in December. Easy walks along paved footpath to Thor’s Cave, which is well worth a visit, then path continues upstream along river to the stepping stones near Ilam.

Great night stay here the other day. It’s perfect little spot as it totally out the way, right next to the river & so peaceful. No phone Signal at all! It is tight roads & would only recommend coming from grindon. Does get a little busy in the day as it’s a 30min walk to Thor cave. Leek is only 15/20mins away too if you need to get food or supples. Definitely recommend this place & will definitely go back in the future.

Great quite spot. Back to nature, no phone signal, sounds of the river and a lovely walk along the manifold way. Some spots for swimming if that's your thing towards Thors cave. As mentioned previously would suggest route from Grindon in anything bigger then a SWB or VW campervan.

Steep in and out, but good location. Few kids having beers and a camp out on Saturday night, but at the other end so not much noise.

Stayed here Saturday 10th October 2020, lovely drive through Grindon, the road down to manifold valley is narrow and steep but Ruby the T5 smashed it up and down. Lovely spot right next to the river, great 20 minute walk to Thors cave, when you get the dont forget to go ontop of the cave for beautiful views. I would definitely stay here again, plenty of space too!

Stayed here 5-6th October 2020 and it was a perfect little spot. Very quiet, plenty of space for my SWB T5. Plenty of lovely walks for the dog too. I will be staying here again. Please make sure you leave it immaculate! There are no bins for rubbish so take it with you!

Great place, although as it's already been said, it's a rather narrow road down! We approached from Wetton....would recommend approaching from Grindon as it's a far better road.

Stayed here for a night very quite and enough room for a few vans when we turned up 5 vans were there with still plenty of room for more nice walks nearby definitely will be stopping here again

Half hour walk from Thor’s cave (steep and slippery but worth the walk!). Spent one quiet night here, space for quite a few vans.

Always a great stop. Everyone we meet is friendly and helpful. Long walks along Manifold way but footpaths that circle the area are brilliant and challenging for the more adventurous. Don’t forget no internet or tv signal. No facilities. Don’t take anything larger than LWB HT panel van please. Take your rubbish home as no bins. Enjoy your stay. May see you there

V narrow roads with hair pin turns, and steep hills but carpark was so private and quiet we enjoyed and will definitely return!! Some amazing views on the drive down to the car park too!

Lovely spot for a night or 2. We use this as our nighttime base and travel around during the day. Very peaceful. And as reported no data or mobile signal. Spot on if that’s what you want!

I loved staying here, super beautiful and peaceful, the walk up to thor's Cave was lovely. No phone signal at all (except on top of the cave which also gives you an ace view). One reccomendation, when leaving the car park, turn right, away from the bridge and harepin bend, any larger vans will have a really tough time, the other way leads back onto a main road too.

Stayed here for a night, midweek in winter. A really great spot for exploring Thor’s cave, a twenty minute walk or so away. Roads are quite narrow and steep. On leaving in the morning, my van struggled with the hairpin climb out of Larkstone Lane, across the bridge, but we turned around no bother and headed back towards Grindon.

Parked here and spent 1 night. Incredibly peaceful and beautiful, great place to cycle and walk from, worth going to Thor’s cave. We were the only people but could get busy in high season!

Stayed here for 2 days / 1 night. lovely spot to stay, and was very quiet during the night. no facilities, so be warned/ prepared. there was an ice-cream / coffee truck during the office hours. During the day (NB we were there on a bank holiday weekend) the path / carpark was busy. walked a mile to the pub in Wetton which was nice. No internet or signal, but that was what I was after.

Very quiet, dead end road. Ideal place to visit Thors cave and surrounding walks. Had a refreshment truck there at the time. Lane coming down is very narrow in an A class had a few brushes with foliage, there are a few passing places but would have struggled if we met anyone. No internet connection.
