I parked here free, very quiet, slight slope down to the edge, but great view out to the sea, no toilets unless cafe is open, which it wasn’t when I was there, maybe different in the summer, don’t park right next to the litter bins as they are emptied loudly, but a great spot to park, I had a Sprinter and lots of parking spaces.

great park up for the sea glass beach.

  • 1/5

New signs are up NO OVERNIGHT PARKING.

  • 1/5

There are now signs s tating NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING. Pity as this was a rather nice spot.

  • 5/5

I contacted durham council. Here is part of the reply from parking services 29/10/2021 "there is no legal traffic regulation order (tro) on that car park at the moment which would allow us to enforce overnight stays". however, they are considering implementing a tro in the future via no sleeping and no camping notices.

  • 5/5

Was a great spot, no overnight parking signs revelry gone up - this is because of people emptying chemical toilets into the drains that run down into sea…. Please don’t do this!

  • 5/5

Great spot but the people with vans with out toilet facilities have spoilt it for everyone. camping no longer possible. such s great spot too.

  • 4/5

This was a great spot however council are putting up no overnight parking signs, such a shame. (21/09/2021).

  • 5/5

Council now putting up No Overnight Parking signs.

We stayed here whilst house searching in the area, we now live in seaham, and love how many campers we see on the car park . The car park is maintained by Durham county council , and is FREE , fantastic views over the North Sea , keep your eyes peeled for the dolphins . The cafe is privately owned so obviously the toilets are only available to paying customers , great eateries in town.

  • 4/5

Lovely views. About a dozen campers there overnight. shame the cafe wasn't open early on a Sunday morning.

  • 5/5

Good location looking out over the sea. There are some steps down to the beach & promenade where you can walk along into the town which is about 20 minutes or so. There were about 10 motor homes & about 4 other campers. Very quiet & didn’t experience any boy racers. Looks like there is a car boot sale within walking distance on a Sunday.

Flat big parking with no shade. some bushes on one side and a bar perfect for Saturday . unfortunately only up to 17:30

  • 5/5

Stayed here on the 10/08. Plenty of other vans on the carpark but didn't hear a noise all night. Very clean carpark. Can get busy during the day especially when it's sunny. Straight onto the beach via a set of steps.

  • 1/5

Sat night what a mistake! dozen other vans in the car park next to the cafe and a boy racers car meet in the adjoining car park. main road nearby too. shame as it's right on next to the beach and free. moved on swiftly. possibly a better stop over outside the school holidays and mid week

  • 4/5

Stayed here 14/8 big double car park. Nice walks along the beach. Boy racers turned up at around 7 and left about 11. To avoid them park in the left car park on entrance, one outside the coffee shop. There was 12 vans here over night. Not bothered by anyone. Bins are emptied by the council at 7:30 in the morning.

Stayed 3 nights recommend this stop big carpark, cafe ,little walk down to Beach. town walked in 15 mins plenty of shops Super asda...

  • 5/5

Good size car park. Cafe staff is friendly, but no toilets, showers or tap water available.

  • 5/5

Quiet, masses of room for us and several other motor homes. Fabulous view of the North Sea.

  • 5/5

We stayed here for one night but would have happily done more. Arrived about 10pm and there was already at least a dozen campervans parked up. Plenty of room to park up. No noise issues. Cafe is now open, the full English breakfast was lovely. Only outdoor seating open so it did cool down a bit quicker than would have wanted. Nice friendly staff. Toilets are for paying customers only.

Great place to stay overnight. cafe and toilets not finished yet. did get someone with loud music but not for long. quite a few motorhome and campers. did wake early and a few cars and people on benchs watching sunrise. great view over sea and a nice walk into town. will definitely stay here again. parking was free.

This was my first trip in my first camper as a solo female. Great spot, gorgeous views and quiet at night. Lots of other campers and motor homes. It gets busy in the day so don't move once you're set up. No toilets but there are builders working on the cafe so maybe they will be open soon? I knocked a star off for no toilet.

  • 4/5

Nice spot outside of Seaham with views of the coast. It’s a large car park so Plenty of parking for motor homes. Quite busy with cars coming and going throughout the evening but we slept fine. It’s quite exposed on the cliff top and so cold and windy in bad weather. No toilets when we stayed but looks like they’re renovating a cafe and toilet block.

  • 5/5

Fantastic views, free parking and we had a very quiet and peaceful night here. As someone else said, there is a slight slope across the whole car park but it certainly wasn't enough to be noticeable in the van.

  • 5/5

Relatively flat, large, free car park. Bins, plus cafe/toilets available after lockdown (hopefully). Great view overlooking shingle beach. 1 mile walk on promenade to town centre. Ha very peaceful night

  • 5/5

Large car park over looking beach. Lovely quiet night no hassle. Locals do come for walks early. Lots of bins but no other facilities

  • 5/5

Ample space, and close to the highway in case of travelling north or south. Three accesses to the beach, one stairs, one stairs with slopes and one sloping tarmac. Beach is more pebbly than sandy, especially at high tide. Calm night with lovely sea view in the morning. Bins everywhere, yet so much litter lying around...

  • 4/5

Nice carpark with views out to sea. did not stay overnight but have since heard its famous locally for digging, so best to keep your blinds shut and don't flash your lights unless that's your kind of evening

  • 4/5

Close to the beach. Quiet, cars sometimes in and out but don't bother you. Slight slope, another mh here. Grass areas, bins, cafe.

  • 5/5

Great for the beach. On bus route as too far out to walk to town for us. Some loud music from cars at night but once gone very quite. Nice cafe on site.

  • 5/5

Great spot, free and very close to the beach, calm at night and a bit busy in the morning. Bins, tables and benches available. Nice Cafe with toilets next to the parking. We spent one night with 2 other campers.

  • 3/5

Ok if you like listening to boy races music

  • 5/5
