Very quiet and no one bothered us - no signs to say no overnight parking

Parked here all day, 7am to around 5pm. Walked into town a few times, got laundry done and enjoyed Inverness. No issues, quite shady though so didn't get much solar. Great spot.

great place to park for FREE during the day with our 7.2 motorhome. One way road and not too much traffic. We parked for few hours to walk around Inverness and made lunch by the river. beautiful spot!

Road side parking, day time only I think. we stayed here a few hours, it's a fairly central position as it took us just about 6 minutes cycle to get to the town centre.

Great place to park, I parked begging of May with no problems. Just be careful not to park too near the speed bumps as this makes it awkward for other road users. Double yellow lines to the cycle lane only. Near to town and the leisure centre for a shower, toilets further on the road past the skate park.

Now (4 February 2022) a one way road with a contra-flow cycle lane and double yellow (no parking at any time) lines. Was a great place to overnight but it’s not possible now.

A wonderful spot close to River and Ness Island - definitely worth a walk around in the morning. And there’s a coffee hut by the bridge. Felt a bit ‘obvious’ so more of a stealth spot, but fine for me. Quite well used route for dog walking, joggers but road is separated from footpath by a grass verge. Would definitely use spot again.

Great location alongside River Ness. The best start to NC500 with such a wonderful view. There were a fair few passersby in the late evening but generally quiet. There are bins along the street and there is also a playing field straight across the road which is perfect for those traveling with dogs.

Stayed for 1 night Tuesday 28th Sep before starting the NC500 anticlockwise. Fantastic location to walk into the city and explore. 4 other MH also parked up. unlucky to be woken at 8am by workmen knocking on the door, we didn't see the signs that said they were closing the road the following morning. except for that it would have been a perfect stopover.

Great parkup right next to the river Ness. 10 minute level walk to Inverness centre. The road has double yellow lines on one side of the road and no visible parking restrictions on the other side. Peaceful and beautiful spot.

Perfect for walking into Inverness (20 mins), quiet at night, 2 other campers there when we arrived. no facilities

Brilliant spot opposite a park and river on a 1 way 20mph road. very quiet all night. 15 min walk to town and pub/hotels over the otherside of the river. no trouble at all.

  • 5/5

Beautiful, quiet and only a short walk to town.

  • 3/5

Nice spot to park during the day, however the leisure centre doesn’t offer showering anymore due to COVID restrictions

  • 5/5

Great spot. V handy for town with lovely 15 min walk along the river. Wide one way road so v comfortable parking there (one other motorhome near us). Quiet at night with no issues. Slight road camber.

    Leisure cebtre dont accept guests

We stayed over night and went for a morning bike ride then left about mid day. No overnight signs are installed but yolo. Police actually parked next to us at 11pm to arrest/help someone swimming in the river and didn’t move us on. Another camper rolled in around 10pm and left at 8am. No tickets. Although, not legal so look elsewhere if you have more time to plan.

Très pratique pour visiter la ville. Pas de service. Calme

Busy during the day... but very quiet over night. Made use of the £3.80 shower in the leisure centre too!

Great spot. Lots to do. River, islands, botanic gardens, big kids play park with boating pond and the Caledonian Canal
