I have just spoken to the guy who was asking for £20 on (27/6/21, 3/6/21,22/5/21) and threatening to clamp campers. He is the owner the Mynydd Mawr campsite,
His arguments:-
-left litter,
-using his services
-It's his land. It isn't, he is a tenant of the NT who own it.
-Nobody should get anything for free.

-Niemand sollte etwas umsonst bekommen.

Sure it can be a great view and a great place to stay but recent council signs forbey camping and the old coastguard hut also has a sign stating the same. Nightmare to get to with the roads there but could be okay for a lunch break and some walks.

I'm pissed off, so going to France as usual. Boycott Llyn Peninsula July/August 2022.

Had an amazing evening watching the sunset and stayed over along with 2 other vans, a car and a tent. i didn't think this was a problem as there were others doing the same, however, some guy came round in the morning giving us grief (nothing too bad) but did mention clamping. we apologised and left. views are awesome .

I had the same problem on a May Bank holiday 2021, with 2 youths asking for £20 to stop the night. I said I was a National Trust member, they said their were NT signs to say no camping (why were they asking for £20 then?) but it was private land. all very conflicting. I declined to pay and left. I've since written to the NT for clarification, this is their reply: In relation to Uwchmynydd, it is NT owned but is tenanted. If it was our tenant who approached you and asked for payment then this along with camping in the first place is not allowed. I will make enquiries but it is probably more likely to be a couple of local youths trying to make a quick £20. I will update if I get any further information.

This is an amazing spot to spend time at - sunsets don't get much better! However, at around 10pm a chap, we think is from the campsite nearby, will come around and try to charge you £20 to spend the night here. He doesn't have ID and will not issue a receipt. The land belongs to the National Trust and not this guy or his aggressive Dad. DO NOT pay them a penny - it is not their land!

Great spot but new looking sign at entrance to National Trust land says No Overnight Parking now. it doesn't say this in the actual vat park. You might get away with it but we went to a camp site.

Gorgeous spot but a guy in a pickup came and told us we couldn't stay here around 7pm so we left.

Steep approach, pretty windy at the top, amazing views

No issues. Remember to leave no trace.

Amazing place. National Trust, but nothing saying no overnight camping. It'd be windy, but definitely worth a stop over.

Amazing place. Easy to get up to in our t5. Would be a great place to spend a night but very windy. Nice campsite just below if more shelter wanted.

There are no signs to say that you cannot stay overnight. The place is magnificent for viewing the sunset! However, the approach road is extremely challenging and very narrow
