Narrow and quiet access road across the tree-less moorland from both directions from both directions. Watch out for the sheep wandering across the roadway.
The lake is a drinking water reservoir, and due to the farmlands nearby can be prone to algae, best to follow the signs and keep yourself and your four legged friends out of the water. Great views of a wide, dark sky and the North Wales moors. Parking spots are alongside the lake edge, some flatter than others. No bins or services, so come prepared to take your litter back home.

Perfect lakeside park up. The verges are very soft following the heavy rain, as evidenced by tyre marks so choose carefully where to stop so as not to damage them. It’s very rare to find anywhere as quiet as this, not a sound except the wildlife in the morning. Only noticed 2 cars passing in 15 hours.

Amazing spot to stay for a night! A few different spots to pick from. Very few cars passed us. We sat out and could only hear the birds and the water. No phone signal (unless you walk onto the bridge) but I enjoyed the break from my phone. No issues when a farmer passed us. Left the spot exactly as we found it! We enjoyed a beautiful sunset!

Overnighting is forbidden by the local farmer - it is private land, they used to tolerate when it wasn’t used by too many overnighters. Suggest looking elsewhere.

Great place to park off grid in the middle of nature. The only noise at night is the waterfall and neighbouring sheep. The dam bridge is around 2m width, so wider campers would need to access from the north. Don't forget to drive slow past the sheep, especially those hiding in bushes by the road, as well as to leave no trace to maintain good relations with the farmers. No complaints.

Very nice place for of grid just be aware there is no signal phone or internet apart from patchie spots so if you can’t do without them may not be for you also no tv signal doesn’t bother me but may do for others

Our 1st night out in our new camper. stayed saturday night . a few walkers when we arrived at 3pm. a couple of cars passed us until about 9.30 then silence. perfect off grid spot and we were blessed with a beautiful sunrise to accompany the bleating of the sheep

It's quite a way away from anywhere meaning that even on the busiest of days it's quiet. There are four or five lakeside pull-ins on the road heading north, the most level are in the final straight headed to the dam. The road is narrow, but that's no issue for most, provided you use the passing places. Exposed to the wind, but the nearby views are exceptional. No facilities, keep it clean.
