A quick check with the landlady and we were ok’d to park our camper overnight in the car park. Friendly welcome, lovely food, great service, quiet night and an amazing breakfast. If you’re really lucky (like we were) you’ll get to enjoy some live music too. Highly recommended.

As other posts say, you can stay in the car park if you buy a meal. Great home cooked food, friendly staff, dogs welcome. Will definitely stay here again.

great pub great staff food was superb. if car park is full there is a large layby 50 meters down the road where you can park and wait for space in the pub car park.
Turned up on a Sunday at 9.30pm and pub closed up! Gorgeous spot and will stay the night but was looking forward to having a few drinks!
Lovely place! We were warmly welcomed with a huge smile. Water and toilets available. Strongly recommend. (and the waitress helped solve a long lasting dilemma for us Belgian people: how to correctly pronounce Worcestershire Sauce :-D)
Delicious food, friendly staff and clean facilities. The outside toilets were out of use, the kind staff allowed us access to inside untill closing and when the cleaner arrived at 8am in the morning.
Great stop over, very friendly staff at pub, good food, no charge to stop for the night. Don’t disregard as no photo’s available on this web site. Well worth a look and a try.

Rang ahead, owners were more than welcoming. Me & my 6 year old had dinner, food was amazing, staff were great. Made us feel at home. Busy main bar but went to a side area, locals really friendly, found a spot in the corner of a car park, got a little busy but locals really quiet when leaving. Main Road wasn’t an issue, soon quietened down. Would definitely return if visiting the hills again.
Got caught out with light and found this place in the dark. Super warm welcome from the landlord who let us camp for free. intended on eating here but missed the kitchen so landlord asked if we’re at least buy a pint, we ended up sitting in the bar chatting to locals all night then cooked at our van in the car park. Also picnic benches for breakfast in the morning. Would go back again, great spot
Called about 8 pm as a change of plan and Nigel said no problem to stay, he and Ross were very accommodating breakfast next morning was plentiful lovely atmosphere little bit of road noise so it would be better to park over by the field end of the car park would definitely recommend this lovely spot for a stopover.

Welcomed by a lovely barmaid (having contacted by Facebook before arriving). Lots of places to park with picnic benches and grass nearby. Enjoyed a very reasonably priced meal and G&T then hung out in the van with my dogs. Nearby road might not be for everyone as there was noise at various points, but not excessively. Solo female traveller with 2 dogs - felt safe.
Very good stopover smallish carpark but happy to have four vans.Good food nice hosts and Mortimers cider.
Lovely pub lovely hosts. Stayed one night although beside the A417 it was quiet. Food was lovely and price was very reasonable. Would definitely stay again
