Arrived Saturday afternoon and was just us and another van which arrived later on. Quite muddy at the moment and not particularly level but was nice and quiet overnight. The carpark has a couple of bins and picnic tables with a decent view of the reservoir. There is an honesty box with "suggested" amounts depending on the vehicle. Suggests £10 for a campervan.

Arrived Sunday afternoon- several cars with walkers/cyclists but still plenty of room for us. We were alone after 5pm. Beautifully location, very quiet. Woke to birdsong and sunshine. Nearby village if Ramsgill is pretty but the walk is along the road. Plenty of birds on reservoir. Would come again. £10 is a good deal as there are bins and picnic tables too.

nice quiet spot, bar a few cars passing in the night. safe and 2 other campers there also for the night. £10 in the honesty box.

Lovely and quiet, had the place to myself. A bit muddy in areas, will be back. Posted my money into the box.

Quiet spot, just us and one other camper on the night we stayed. Not all the car park is a level area.

Brilliant stay. Quiet and minimal traffic.

We had a night here and were the only ones in the car park. Very quiet once the farm vehicles powering up and down the road had finished for the night. How lovely to be made to feel welcome in a parking area in the UK. We put £10 in the honesty box because we thought they deserve to be encouraged.

Fantastic quiet Saturday night. Great views and hardly any other users. They're asking £10 for motohomes in the honesty box, which I paid as it was well worth it. Let's keep places like this going.

Really decent place for an overnight spot. Some sloping ground so choose your spot wisely, quite wet and muddy in gateway during rain, but very quiet. One other van there when we were. Good view of the reservoir. Steam nearby. No toilets or waste or electric. Some picnics benches. Road very quiet at night. Honesty box if you want to donate. We gave £5.

Car park next to the road to the top of Nidderdale. No real views but great for an overnight stop. Generally very quiet with occasional road noise. No services so you need to take any waste home.

Spent a quiet night here - just the sound of the stream and the owls hooting overnight. Clean and tidy. Good solid surface. Slight slope in parts.

Nice spot for the night, payed £5 in the honesty box. Spend a nice evening with people met on the spot that night. Some tables are on site ! Please keep your bins with you. Really quiet spot and the closest village is at 10min away.

Beautiful little car park. Raised picnic area with amazing views of the reservoir. Slightly sloping but fine. £10 for motorhomes now, in honesty box. Surrounded by sheep so dogs need to stay on lead.

nice little spot road in from pateley bridge is narrow and winding ,very muddy when wet,and its very dark ,no direct access to the reservoir tho shame,

Fantastic view, particularly worth getting up for at sunrise and to birdsong. Surely a bird watchers paradise, not that I am one. Spent a lovely, relatively quiet night - by roadside, yet occasional cars overnight did not disturb. Thanks to the farmers, and gratefully put £5 in their honesty box.

Stayed Saturday night, it was empty on arrival at 6.30pm, 4 other vans arrived later but plenty of space for us all but to more. Car park across the road from the reservoir, hedges all round so screened from the road, from our corner we could just see the reservoir over the hedge. Beautiful area and quiet at night with hardly any traffic. Slightly sloping in places. Please put £5 in honesty box.

Fabulous spot! Enough room for 15/20 campers. Just next to reservoir. Picnic benches too. Honesty box to help the farmer maintain the plot.

Went for a night's stay and the benches had been set on fire, there was rubbish and waste around. the views were fantastic however we won't return. shame that someone has spoilt it for everyone else. the chap who owned it said he was going to put the price up to cover the cost of repairs/maintenance

Such a beautiful & quiet spot. Honesty box for payment. Picnic benches overlooking the reservoir. There are a couple of nice pubs 2-3 mile walk away (although there is no footpath).

Lovely spot with bin and picnic tables. A good view across the res with quite a bit of bird life including curlews. A bit slopey in places so pick your spot! Honesty box for payment £5 overnight, £1 short stay .. no time limit. Road runs close by but only occasional vehicles.

Found it while exploring the area in our 4x4 camper. Haven’t stayed for the night but it’s allowed and seems like a brilliant spot. Massive thanks to whoever created this spot - wish there was more people like you!

  • 4/5

Sufficient space for upto 5 large motorhomes and a couple of small vans. Tag axle units would fit but eat into the smaller unit space. £5 a night, almost level, running stream to the side of the gated farm track. Viewing area to the reservoir by the bus stop opposite. Quiet overnight, some locals/tourists stopped for a half hour or so then left during the morning.

Lovely spot, busy with campers. also busy with locals we had a few teenage lads arrive late at night been loud and disruptive. Theres no bins so take your rubbish. We had a good nights sleep, the main road can be busy in the morning.
