Rocked up at 6am to go fishing to find at least 8 identifiable campers there with windscreen covers still on and still asleep. The church car park where you're allowed to stay was empty. Toilets were open.

Full of potholes but nice place to visit. Good signal for Vodafone & EE. Had a signal with 3 network but really slow speeds. Not all of car park is level but there are some spots which will be. Narrow single track roads in parts on the way in/out of this area.

Great car park for day use. Didn't stay overnight, as my desire to park up in a nice place isn't more important than the wishes of the local residents.

  • 3/5

Stayed for the day to walk and made a donation but didn't stay overnight due to signs asking us not to. Huge shame as we don't consider ourselves campers and just sleep discretely overnight. We have our own facilities. Pub missed out on custom and we would happily pay a little more to stay.

Notice says please no overnight. The wardens at RSPB are asking people not to stay.

Nice large flat car park Free for 24 hours (donations welcome) Cafe, ice cream kiosk and toilets on site. There is a pub 2 minutes walk away. Says no overnight parking but plenty of vans/campervans stayed.

Still free Sept. 21, donations pls Cafe, bins & nice toilets. straight in beach. Says no overnight but clearly several folk ignored sign. Beautiful spot. Walk along beach to Sizewell past Minsmere reserve. Or pay at NT south at Dunwich Heath.

Lovely large free car park next to the beach with Cafe, toilet and recycling bins.

Lovely big car park next to the beach. Restaurant and shop.

I was going to visit Dunwich during the day but due to the aggressive attitude of local people I will spend my money elsewhere. Why not ask for a reasonable donation to stay overnight. You are not robbing local campsites because these campers will find another location and visit local shops and restaurants.

Nice location /interesting place .Pity people like rod / rob don’t realise not staying at a campsite doesn’t mean we don’t spent with other local bussiness . I would happily make a donation to park here ,Let’s be honest parking overnight or parked during the day the only difference is daylight. if someone’s a litterbug they will litter at any time or from any vehicle :))) . Happy days :)

Please note the signs stating no overnight parking. Eventually a height restiction barrier will be installed if this reasonable request is ignored, ruining it for other users. Thanks

This a free car park owned and maintained by the generous people of dunwich. It is not a campsite ! the signs are very clear. If you ignore them then you are disrespecting the residents and robbing local campsites of income. Please do not stay overnight.

We stayed overnight Saturday no problems at all about 7 other vans. nice clean toilets open 24/7. Just 1 point to make the car park is popular with beach fishermen who left at around 4am and so there cars being loaded and driving out which woke us up as we are light sleepers. In hindsight we should have parked at the back of the car park . great spot. had a lovely walk on the beach at 6am

Superb place to stay, lots of space, clean toilets and despite the signs saying no overnight parking we and a few other vans did with no issues whatsoever. Lovely beach and walks very nearby. Will definitely come back.

  • 5/5

Really nice spot to stay. Stayed for one night, but signs stating no campervans overnight. we had no issues.

  • 5/5

Amazing and free carpark, just donate to local charities. We spent a night undisturbed with around 9 other campers. Clean toilets and cafe.

Leaflet on toilet block with a campervan crossed out in red stating absolutely no overnight parking or camping... Free parking by day with donations box for local church and charities
