Gravel parking lot to get to the Hardy monument (600 m). From the Hardy monument, you have a very beautiful panoramic view of the region. Totally quiet at night. In the driveway, however, there are 2 large stones and two plastic studs (missing in the photo) to limit the width. The VW transporter fits well.

excellent spot wasn't busy at all stayed with two other vehicles and wasn't any noise at all just bit windy just make sure you can fit through a 6ft-6 restriction to get in but if not there are 1 or 2 external spaces for the motorhomes.

  • 5/5

Awesome place tucked away from the wind and road, nice panoramic views of the surrounding area, not too busy except for dog walkers in the morning. Just fit through the bollards in our Ford Transit, very tight!

  • 5/5

Stayed here New years Eve and we were protected from quite severe weather. we drove in between the 2 posts to the rear carpark and while tight we managed it in a VW Crafter. in the corner behind the mounds we were protected from severe winds. quiet night and stunning views when we woke up

  • 3/5

Small area to fit a couple of campers before the main car park which only has a width of 2.3m.

  • 5/5

Toller Platz für eine Nacht. Kurze Wanderung an Hardys Monument mit toller Aussicht.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

3 other vans parked here tonight, nice and quiet protected from any wind, good 4g signal (O2)

  • 5/5

Easy to find Gravel car park. Will fit a normal width van. Any camper bodies will struggle to get through the width restriction. protected from the wind, and a flat sleep. can't ask for much more.

  • 5/5

Nice and empty, there is bollards for the bigger car park. Managed to squeeze through in a transit. No overnight camping signs. Quiet night, few cars came on between 9 and 11 but wasn’t there for long. Recommended spot.

  • 4/5

Lovely location with nice views. The main tarmac carpark has width limiting posts, my 2010 Citroen relay van bodied can get through- just!. I suspect a coachbuilt unit wouldn't get in but there are a couple of larger dpaces on the lead in to the car park. Good phone signal, mediocre mobile broadband (O2)

  • 3/5

Nice spot, kids messing around in cars until mid eve but not the end of the world.

  • 5/5

Large empty gravel car park. As said by others you do have to squeeze through two white bollards to access the larger part of the car park but I managed fine in my Vauxhall vivaro. Very quiet, no sign of anyone until 9am when dog walkers turn up.

  • 5/5

Quiet, large flat space for over night parking. Perfect.

  • 4/5

great place to stop, flat and quiet. if you have a small van, you can get through the narrow bollards to the main car park, if you have a wider van, there are still about 3 spaces, before the bollards so still worth checking this spot out.

  • 4/5

Great free overnight spot - if you can get through the 2 new bollards. We managed to get our Renault Master thru ok with an inch to spare! Fab walks and views, very quiet, would highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Free hardstanding carpark, no overnight restrictions. Close to monument and picnic benches. Lower carpark is sheltered and the views are fantastic, it has a narrow entrance but fit a caddymaxi and a T4 through fine. A couple of others stayed the night too and plenty of room. Farmers land next to the carpark has a public footpath with lovely walks, dogs have to be on leads if walking through

  • 5/5

Stopped for a night, was a quiet place to stay and has a short walk to the monument. Some other people also in vans. A few cars came in but they didn’t seem bothered we were there.

  • 4/5

Uniek moment!

  • 5/5

very peaceful apart. barrier posts just wide enough to get a peugeot boxer through with help from a spotter .

  • 5/5

Perfect quiet spot, we managed to get our lwb sprinter through the posts but it is very tight. One other car pulled in for around an hour sat in their car then left but other than that we were on our own.

  • 5/5

Great place, we were there with two other larger vans. The inner car park has two posts with a 7ft width.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night. Only two BMWs came by at half 9 hoping to do so drifting but they soon moved on when they realised we weren’t leaving. Other than that it’s utterly peaceful and a good pull up!

  • 5/5

Wunderschöner Platz zum Übernachten, sehr ruhig, tolle Aussicht. Hier würden wir jederzeit wieder übernachten.

  • 5/5

Several spaces outside the narrow gated area. Amazing views. picnic tables nearby too. We didn't stay the night but spent a pleasant afternoon here. Excellent walks nearby.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Came across this parking place expecting to have to sleep outside parking area. My other half easily got a Renault Master in. Lovely parking area, brilliant views. Nice and quiet. Highly recommended

  • 5/5

Nice spot! Parked here in winter so I was the only van here the night I stayed. One or two dog walkers in the morning. There are two posts at the entrance to the lower car park determine the maximum with allowable there, but I got a T5 through with no problems.

  • 5/5

We arrived very late and parked in the one space infront of two other parking areas. Our evening and overnight stay was very warm and cosy. No other campers here. A lovely open space though the weather was horrendous today so we were not able to explore as planned. *Came back for summer Solstice & discovered The Valley of Stones. A very relaxed 2 night stopover.*

  • 4/5

Arrived here for a walk, our Trafic fit through the barrier into the very large main car park. There is space for Larger vans just outside of the car park. We didn't stay here, but no signs to say you can't. There are picnic benches available here very close to the car park, and great views even if you just go for a short walk.

  • 5/5

  • 1/5

Don't even bother if your in a van bigger than a smart car they've now put steel bollards in next to the rocks to make it even narrower

  • 4/5

Stop here for a night two nights ago. Great spot for over night park. Wasn't disturbed very quiet and some cracking view in the morning from the Monument. However post width to car park will be tight for anything more than a Trafic/Vivaro/Transporter.

  • 4/5

Great spot to park up in the van. Stayed overnight with no issues but the car park is unfinished so that might change when completed. There are two levels to the car park and the lower area is nicely secluded from the road. There are bollards in place to restrict the width of vehicles driving down the the lower area. Our Transit 100 just fit with 6 inches either side and VW's will have no problem

  • 5/5

Just quite windy and busy with walkers but otherwise lovely

  • 5/5

Parked here for night last weekend. Narrow to get in in large car and then boulders. Great site and so secluded with high banks all around car park area. Sad to see so much litter left, will return here. Great spot if there’s a few of you. Amazing view and built in seating areas. No signs apart from no bbq/fires. Remote

  • 1/5

Live that way went and had a look , bolders have been changed for metal post and look narrower I’d worry about getting our LT through there.. I guess after they moved some travellers out this was done

  • 5/5

A metal post has been added to the entrance - maximum access width is now a VW California T6, or similar. Great location though, but too windy for us today!

  • 4/5

This is a good spot can stay overnight. Best to be found in the day and the postcode can take you to the wrong place Best way to find it is look for Hardy Monument on Google maps and then look for the car park from there, then sat nav it to the car park.
