Stainburn Forest car park
Lots of levelish spaces, next to road, great for mountain bikers, walkers. Stayed last night and there are NO signs about overnight parking. All good. Enjoy.

Parkplatz Stainburn Forest
Viele ebene Plätze neben der Straße, ideal für Mountainbiker und Wanderer. Ich war letzte Nacht hier und es gibt KEINE Schilder zum Parken über Nacht. Alles gut. Genießen.

Good walks round the forest and a nice quiet stay in Feb time. Would recommend.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. Few youth playing music but only stayed an hour and didn't bother us. Nice and quiet at night.

  • 3/5

Had a great nights sleep here for one night, planned on staying another but after returning from walking our dog the car park was extremely busy, lots of large groups of vans some with creepy stickers.. gave the place a weird vibe so left

  • 4/5

nice spot for good night sleep, some road noise but not very bad. Plenty walks around. Busy by the morning dogwalkers and cyclist. Overall good, mostly leveled

  • 5/5

Very scenic and quiet. Well enough off the road to not be bothered by traffic at any time during the night. Had 4G signal on O2. Stayed overnight on a Saturday and only one other van here over the other side so not a bother at all.

  • 5/5

Stayed here on are first adventure. Just a quick getaway to see how we liked the van. Lovely stay no one was here. People slowly arriving from 7am onwards. Little hard to find if following postcode, recommend using the car parks name

Stayed on Saturday night, got there in the afternoon, went for a walk in the forest and then spent the night as the only van there. Dog walkers not completely gone until 8.30pm, and then one car stopped briefly around 10.30 and another sounded like it came in and did a handbrake turn and went straight out again, apart from that it was very quiet.

Parked here many times in the past, came up tonight and there isn’t one no overnight parking sign to be seen anywhere as i suspected, one wonders if it locals scaremongering, fantastic place to stop, the views are stunning, just take your rubbish with you

Absolutely great spot for mtb fans. Good trails and awesome views

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. Quiet and out the way. No issues

  • 5/5

Picturesque parking spot, a lovely evening spent here. There was another 4 vans parked overnight but loads of room, didn't feel too close. A bit of noise from the road early evening but quietened down later on. Good walks with the dog.

  • 3/5

Good for a quick stop off, road is very busy from 0600-1200. Local kids use the car park at night from about 10-12. But don’t bother you.

  • 5/5

Stayed here for one night 3 Aug 21. If you are looking for red and black mbt routes this is your place. Quite at night. Get the odd motorbike going past on the main road. Mbt rides came and went and dog walkers. No facilities. Workable phone signal. Also one other van stayed the same night.

Lovely quiet spot for the night with great views.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, turned up late and two vans already there who greeted us and we had a little chat. As others have said it's very popular with mountain bikers but no issues with us staying there. Very quiet nights sleep. Cross the road to find a path to walk dogs.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot as I said below. Stayed here previously on a weekday and only us there. Stayed again on Saturday when there were around 8-10 other vans. People very friendly but please can we refrain from chopping trees down to make fires. It’s the sort of thing that they’ll put no overnight parking signs up for and we don’t want to spoil it for others as it’s a great place.

Stayed here one night ( Saturday ). several vans here. no trouble and all very friendly. bikers turn up on a Sunday morn but not too early. worth a visit

  • 1/5

    Great spot. Quiet and restfull

  • 4/5

Stayed for one night, slept well, plenty of spaces. Cross the road and head up the hill for a lovely walk through the woodland. No bins so take rubbish home

  • 5/5

Good place to stay, loads of space, it's a mountain biking trailhead so busy with bikes.

  • 5/5

Beautiful little spot, stayed here for the night and had no problems. Quite a large area, does get busy with bikers but not too busy! Good signal on both EE and 3.

  • 5/5

We've stayed here a few times now for 1 or 2 nights at a time and always had a peaceful night's sleep. Good wifi and level in a couple of spots. lots of mountain bikers during the day coming and going. The road is just behind the trees so can be loud during the day but quiet at night so didn't bother us.

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot! There were about ten other vans staying there at the time I was there, everyone was friendly. Lots of space between vans too as it’s a decent size area. Surrounded by woodland with a beautiful view of The Valley and a perfect sunset spot. We stayed on a Saturday and in the morning there were lots of mountain bikers in the car park getting ready for the trails. Great spot!!

  • 5/5

Spent a very quiet night here, dog walkers all gone by 8pm. Lovely walks here too.

  • 5/5

Amazing location with beautiful view point !

  • 5/5

Excellent spot! Great views and walks. A lot of mountain bikers during the day. We will be returning! :)

  • 5/5

Glorious little spot, very safe and quiet at night, though it does get busy early in the day with bikers. By dusk the day visitors clear out leaving plenty of space for lots of vehicles. Spent two lovely evenings here in October 2020. Good phone signal on Three, nice and flat.

  • 4/5

Great stopover, off the main road but it's quiet at night. Felt safe, the car park was empty and is surrounded by trees. It started to get busy in the morning around 8am with people turning up to mountain bike. We will be using this as a regular place to spend the night, loved all the sounds of the wildlife after dark.

  • 5/5

Amazing views, quiet at night level spots to park. It was a night in December, and the carpark was empty except one other van parked up for the night. Felt safe and it snowed during the night so the carpark was still dead in the morning. Great spot.

  • 4/5

Get there on a Sunday afternoon/early evening to watch the mountain bikers hit the trails.

  • 5/5

This spot is so lovely. We pulled up at about 9pm on a Saturday night and it was deserted. There’s a few fast cars driving along the road but they’re quite far away so it’s lovely and quiet. 3 or 4 level spots to park up so even if there’s somebody already here you’ll be fine. Definitely recommended

  • 5/5

Lovely forest views, mainly for mountain bikers so quiet on a night. Nice walking trails. busy through the day. It gets busy at 8am, good nights sleep. No bins.

  • 5/5

Great, flat, private space with spectacular views. No facilities but. very quiet

  • 3/5

A lot of boyracers doing donuts on a weekend. Prob be better through the week. Otherwise a nice spot, and a good freeride trail!

  • 4/5

Quiet woodland location (had a cracking nights sleep). Near a fairly busy road. Little bit bumpy. Car park used by mountain bikers and walkers in the morning. Amazing views from the woods.
