Attention! On nous a dit dans les informations touristiques que ce parking est accessible avec une voiture ordinaire, et les habitants y vont avec ceux-là et nous avons réussi à les atteindre également (Volvo V70), mais je ne recommanderais jamais à quiconque de s'y rendre sans permis. Véhicule 4x4. Cela m'a coûté une fuite d'air. C'est ca. 14 km de route du barrage, ce qui prend plus d'une heure. J'ajoute quelques photos de la route, 2 fois nous avons eu besoin de nous arrêter et de déplacer des pierres de la route. Parking lui-même est ok pour passer la nuit.
Warning! We've been told in the tourist information that this parking is accessible with a regular car, and indeed locals go there with ones and we managed to reach it too (Volvo V70), but I would never recommend anyone to go there without a proper 4x4 vehicle. It costed me leaking AC. It's ca. 14km road from the dam, which takes over 1 hour. I'm adding few pictures of the road, 2 times we needed to stop and move some stones from the road. Parking itself is ok to spend the night.
Warnung! In der Touristeninformation wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass dieser Parkplatz mit einem normalen Auto erreichbar ist und die Einheimischen mit einem eigenen Auto dorthin fahren. Wir haben es auch geschafft, ihn zu erreichen (Volvo V70), aber ich würde niemandem empfehlen, ohne einen geeigneten Parkplatz dorthin zu fahren 4x4 Fahrzeug. Es hat mich das Auslaufen der Klimaanlage gekostet. Es ist ca. 14km Straße vom Damm, die über 1 Stunde dauert. Ich füge ein paar Bilder von der Straße hinzu, 2 Mal mussten wir anhalten und ein paar Steine von der Straße entfernen. Das Parken selbst ist in Ordnung, um die Nacht zu verbringen.

Amazing place. We made it with our 3.5m high expedition truck despite warnings from the park rangers. The road itself is pretty easy with only two parts that would require 4x4 or a skilled driver. The problem for us was the height and sometimes width. The worst part were trees on the 11th km from the dam. Don't go up with an expedition truck if you don't like scratches or can't fold mirrors
Viele Einheimische fahren die Strecke mit ihrem normalen PKW, wir haben es mit einem Fiat Ducato geschafft. Aber die letzten 5km waren heftig und wir würden es nicht nochmal ohne 4x4 fahren. Als wir ankamen war der Platz dann auch überfüllt und wir mussten etwas weiter unten parken. Für den Nationalpark bezahlt man 15 Lei pro Auto, 10 Lei pro Person. Wird unten beim Beginn der Straße bar gezahlt.
sehr empfehlenswert. Anfahrt anstrengend mit 18km offroad. Kein Handy-Empfang, dafür muss man auf den Gipfel Peleaga klettern. Da gibts 4G. Viele Einheimische kommen mit normalen PKW
Unglaublicher Ort. Ein Traum für jeden, der die Berge liebt. Die Anfahrt ist allerdings schwer und sollte nur mit genug Bodenfreiheit gemacht werden. Unser Peugot Boxer 6m hat es geschafft. Man wird mit Natur pur belohnt. Allerdings keinen Handyempfang.
Guter Parkplatz um zum Lacul Bucura zu wandern. Anfahrt mit einem Sprinter sehr holprig und eng aber machbar. Und der Ausblick am See ist es definitiv wert!!!
Difficult drive, but we made it with our h2l2 Peugeot boxer. Perfect starting point for hikes. We slept there for 2 nights. No level spots. Toilet is best avoided.
Local Transylvanian here. It's the closest place to the middle of the Retezat mountains where you can park your car! but it's definitely only accessible with a high ground clearance vehicle. for average drivers 4x4 is needed; there are sections with steep road and hairpin turns. once we got there, we barely found a free place (high season). we parked by a clearing with shade and quiet!
Sind mit ausgebautem Bus (6 Meter) hoch gekommen, aber man muss ein guter Fahrer sein. Sind 20km und ca. 90 Minuten zu fahren. Straße ist eng, ausgefahren, zugewachsen…kurz: eine Herausforderung! Oben standen etwa 25 Fahrzeuge und es war somit brechend voll. Da wird wenden schon eine Herausforderung. Über Nacht leerer, sehr ruhig. Trocken WC vorhanden. Toller Ausgangspunkt für Wanderung
Perfekter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen im Nationalpark! Die Straße vom Stausee aus ist nicht wirklich gut aber wir sind mit einem VW T3 mit Hochdach ohne Probleme durchgekommen. Breiter (1,90m) und höher (2,50m) hätten wir jedoch nicht sein dürfen wegen tief hängender Bäume und Felsbrocken am Straßenrand. Der Parkplatz ist im Sommer hoch frequentiert. Ein Gebirgsbach ist 2Minuten Fußweg entfernt
A parking place at the end of the road, also a place to start your hiking. Not accesible for campervans, recomend for a 4x4 or SUV - a normal car can acess it however, but the road is long, slow and very bumpy. We had a nice calm night upthere. At beginning of the road is a sign warning against bears but locals come here to overnight in tents for an early hike the next day, so it should be safe.
