stayed 15.10 lovely and quiet. one end has low trees so we went in the other way. uneven surface but found a fairly even spot. if it was busy we would have struggled but no one else there. few cars turned up in the morning

  • 3/5

didn't stay long due to the flood of water running down the hill. and zero Internet signal on either phones.

Great quiet overnight spot, plenty of space and very peaceful. Next to lovely woods for dog walks.

Really nice quiet little spot. Only saw one person in the evening and one in the morning. A few muddy puddles and only a couple of flat areas.

Lovely little spot, stayed here 2 nights and had no bother. Only saw a few dog walkers who gave us a wave. On the edge of beautiful woodland and walked up to Painswick Beacon, found wild strawberries and saw a fox! Very bumpy track but just go slow.

Perfect location for walking up to the beacon (amazing views!) & walking into Painswick. Coffee Van there 9-1 Wednesday to Sunday. Peaceful night. Lots of dog walkers. Some low hanging trees & bumpy path in but we managed with our 6.2m motorhome.

Beautiful stop over. stayed here for 1 night, arrived at dusk and all we could hear in the nearby woods was the sound of an owl!. Very quiet, had a great peaceful night, then awoke to Beautiful wooded area. Lovely walk with the dogs. Plenty of bins, ground a little uneven but we were fine in our VW, LWB LT35. We had the place to ourselves all night..

Very hard to get level and very low branches at the top end, but still a lovely spot. There’s a trailer that parks at the top some days selling coffee.

A great spot. Friendly locals and some nice walks. Not great for solar though

Easy place to spend the night before or after exploring Painswick. Parking area for public forest trails. No facilities and poor cell service but quiet, we were the only ones there until walkers and the lovely coffee truck showed up in the morning. Not appropriate for vehicles longer than 6 m parking spots are relatively short.

lovely quiet spot, I got there when it was just getting dark and there was one car playing music but didn't have any bother from them and they didn't stay long. it is quite uneven ground but a lot of room to pick your spot. Nice little walk in the woods for the dog.

Nice wooded area. Dog walker spot. Not much is flat. Very muddy. Difficult left turn coming off the main road onto the side road (coming downhill)

This place was fantastic. quiet. friendly locals. only a few parking spots that were flat so you might need to use cheese wedges. make sure you leave space for THE BOX coffee shop in the morning. Great little wooded area for your dog to play jn.

'ramblers carpark' quiet carpark next to some lovely woods. coffee box arrives at the morning for great coffee and cakes also. what a bonus! even the local dog walkers seemed happy to greet us when they arrive

Late adding the review, but we stayed here for one night on our way to Cornwall last year, it was peaceful, quiet and lovely walk in the woods/over the golf course nearby the next day.

  • 3/5

Worked well for us as weather has been very dry. however ground extremely uneven and looks like it would be a nightmare in the wet. only a couple of spots level enough for van but with care found a suitable bit. undisturbed night. fantastic walk through woods up to painswick beacon a mile away.

Top stop over. Would have given it 5 but as it was raining the huge trees above collected water just right that it transformed what was light rain into huge droplets that sounded mental with a bit of wind. Other than that perfect.

So lovely and quiet, fabulous nights sleep. Ideal for a short dog walk, peaceful nights sleep. Locally we have a Tesco superstore 3 miles away, walking distance is a golf club/pub with good reviews but only open 10-4 weekdays so we missed out on that, the Royal Oak pub 5 mins drive or 20 min walk is lovely, unfortunately they had stopped serving food when we arrived at 19:30 but welcomed us and dogs for a drink, very friendly. Painswick itself is a beautiful picturesque village. We will be stopping off again!

Stayed week end (sept 20) whilst visiting family in Painswick. Over hanging branches the only minus. We were only MH there, no issues. There is over night free parking in village car park but that is busy day time.

Flat at the end nearest the golf club. Bins. Great for a stop on the Cotswold way. Very quiet.

  • 4/5

Tucked away on a single lane cut through. Uneven sloping ground so really only two spots. Long hanging trees on entry and exit. Wooded area at side of parking which is great for the dog.

  • 5/5

Very nice place sheltered from the wind, its a free ramblers car park with access to woodland next door. Right in part of the cotswold way path. Low trees but no issue for standard van (h2l3). Be prepared to have dog walkers early morning as they like getting an early start round here!!

Arrived pretty late, and it was very dark and secluded (that is my preference) , however low hanging branches made getting into the space a little difficult, however parish council workers who had been sent to tidy up the grassy patches and empty bins, were friendly and seemed not to mind at all. there are dog poo bins available, and a small general waste bin too. Great for walking
