Nature England carpark for Aqualite mere. Close to Newport, Shropshire (2milesaway). Small capark for 6 cars or 2 campers. No facilities but open 24hrs doesn't say no overnight stays and on listing it's open 24hrs- no locked gate. No facilities here but handy overnight stop/ sleepover. There's a walk on site 4-5miles but considering it's UK largest mere/lake you see No water!!! The walks disappointing and not well signposted but it's a quiet carpark and site.Theres a birdhide but it was shut when I visited- path under construction. Lots of livestock in fields for walks- dogs must be kept on lead

calm, quiet but no phone signal. would stay here again

Nice and quite, one other van stayed. A few walks before 5pm nothing after. Not particularly level, stayed upon the grass, but no problem.

An excellent little place to stay . I was only one there. So even better.

Quiet area. Narrow road on approach but with many designated passing areas. It is narrow into the parking area - and the parking area is small. My van is 6.37 metres & any longer you will have issues manoeuvring in the car park. Not level but only by a small margin. The car park is sufficiently tight if there were many cars parked, turning out in a longer van would be an issue. Vodafone - 3G only. EE with a roof top external antenna excellent reception. I was there one night and next day which was raining so little visitors but I imagine it will have the usual abundance of dog walkers in good weather. Spoke to a few locals whilst working from my van that did come & super friendly.

Good parking spot. Easily accessible, but with two vans and two motorhomes felt a bit crowded there overnight. Might be less busy out of holiday peak times.

  • 2/5

I arrived late and I had just enough space to reverse in for my moho as carpark is small and another van was parked up. Vodafone with mobile hotspot coverage is very patchy, awful actually for a safety aspect if travelling solo. A decent nights sleep though I will not visit again

Quiet spot, away from houses. Nice walk, don’t know what people’s expectations perhaps the: “hanging gardens of Babylon, of heards of wilder beasts”. After arriving and the early evening dog walkers went home we only had the one late night visit who left leaving beer cans everywhere. Skutters. Woke to a beautiful morning, first of the year.

Arrived at 21:30, nobody there so we had the whole place to ourselves all night. Very quiet nights sleep, a motorbike arrived at about 1am but then drove off. A few joggers at about 8am but other than that it was just us and the rain!

Fantastic place to stay. Open 24 hours and easy to access in large vans. Lovely walks surrounding the mere but as mentioned you can’t see the lake. It is a public bridleway so you may be greeted by a noisy diesel horse box at 6am but, very, very peaceful at night. 10/10 would recommend.

Quiet night, would advise for an overnight stop!

Cannot fault, off a quiet road so had no noise bother and a nice quiet night. we arrived in the dark so cannot comment on the area. Would advise for a overnight stop.

Site is as described but the car park is small and not a particularly beautiful place to stay. As mentioned the walk is underwhelming and we had a lot of issues with mosquitoes so didn't end up staying the night and went to Ironbridge instead. decent spot if you're in the area and just want to sleep somewhere quiet but not a destination to spend much time
