Situé sur une route tranquille sous les arbres. Excellent point de départ pour des promenades à pied, pas d'installations. J'habite dans le coin, alors j'ai ajouté autant d'endroits sauvages que je connais.

Layby on a quiet road under trees. great starting place for walks, no facilities. I live local so adding as many wild spots I know

edit. The parking is in the layby areas ON THE MAIN ROAD not down the track that's there, not sure why people have been going down there. also, access is better coming up the hill from Grindleford rather than the narrow track from Hathersage

Layby auf einer ruhigen Straße unter Bäumen. Toller Ausgangspunkt für Spaziergänge, keine Einrichtungen. Ich lebe vor Ort und füge so viele wilde Flecken hinzu, wie ich kenne

Stayed feb 2023. Great place to stay for a night. Lots of places to choose from they were level enough and only had a couple of cars drive past in the morning

Very narrow single track road to get there and seemed a bit awkward to stay and park so we left. Much nicer places around. I don’t think the pictures on here correlate to the actual parking, there is no clearing, only parking along the road.

No longer a good spot to use

Tried to camp there, my caddy stuck in dry ground, can’t imagine it if it was wet. Otherwise nice place to stay, very quiet road in the woods

Work is completed and many vans parked here again. This is a slightly more flat spot than the lay-bys you drive by just before. View us good but not as good as at the lay-bys.

Terrible road to drive up in a camper, very steep road and a tiny lane. Our Renault master struggled up and unfortunately it’s been upturned by forestry work so unusable in its current state

March 2021 Due to ongoing forestry works you wouldn't be able to park here. Forestry vehicles have churned up all the gravel into deep muddy ruts. Hopefully when the work is complete it will be made good again

As of 27/12/20 the tree is no longer blocking this layby and three vans can easily fit in. Very pleasant night but lots of ramblers arrived at 9:30am

Great spot! A peaceful, pleasant night and easy enough to get back to all major routes throughout the peaks. A tree is now blocking as mentioned in previous comments but, that doesn’t stop 2 or 3 Transporter size vans fitting in. Would highly recommend.

A huge log has been placed across entrance to this gravel areas, blocking access to most vehicles. There a cut-out at one end which very small vans will be able to sneak around. There's still room to park 2-3 VW Transporter size vans alongside the log, parallel to the road (which is what we did in a Mazda Bongo). Very quiet at night - no one else there.

Clearing in the woods with hard pack surface. You will need levelers though. So so peaceful at night. No traffic at all. Great night sleep and the owls early eve and early morning were a bonus to this pretty and peaceful place. Thank you for the original posting of this. Had the place to myself.

View lovely, area gorgeous, not really place to stay for night, lay-bys really tight

A few lay bys down this lane. Deep green forests around. Lovely walks over the moor. Quiet lane, hardly any cars other than local farmers. Small gravel clearing in the woods where some trees are being cleared - will fit 5 vans
