Très bonne halte pour le déjeuner ! Toilettes et eaux noires. Charmant endroit.

  • 3/5

ok stopping during the day, but there are"no overnight camping" signs there now

  • 5/5

lovely place but same experience as the last fellow traveller . the warden will not take payment. permit anyone to stay or allow anyone to use facilities! apparently the Canel Trust have taken over the site

  • 2/5

Warden no longer works there but the cafe is still open. He was a bit 'off' when I asked if I could stay over. Said he didn't know if I could stay nor did he care. Stayed anyway at the top with 3 other vans as there are no signs saying No Camping.

  • 2/5

Road noise most of the night. Also must be in the flight path for an airport as loud jet noise early and late. Thankfully this was an emergency overnight stop en route from Scotland. The setting is quite pretty but it's not particularly restful.

  • 5/5

A lovely place with lots of history. to clarify to park in the pub car park and avoid the 8 hour limit simply spend some money in the pub and register your reg number at the bar. otherwise the track opposite the pub down to the Bugsworth heritage place with displays in some containers. Find Pablo before he goes down to the pub!! There are plenty of information boards around.

  • 2/5

Said hello to the warden. He was friendly enough but told me I could stay for 1 night only as I was already parked up as the canal trust was stopping all camper vans from overnighting here. He didn’t give a reason why. He would not accept a donation. He would not allow us to use the elsane toilet point. Shame as this is a lovely spot by the canal.

  • 5/5

we've stayed here lots of times its a great location, and facilities ie toilet and elson point , tesco is within walking distance and a few fantastic pubs as well . Pablo the warden and his partner Carly are both extremely helpful and can't do enough for you so the £5 donation is a must to keep this little gem open. And for those that don't want to pay don't stay.

  • 5/5

Stayed here 17/03/22. We parked up just in front of the toilet block. £5 a night to the r people on the canal but we have £10 as we used the facilities and know not everyone pays. It was a great spot. No issues at all. We travel as a couple and 3 dogs. Dogs are welcome too

  • 5/5

Absolutely lovely spot for an overnight stay. There's a main road that runs on the opposite side of the canal but I couldn't hear any traffic in the night. Warden is at the bottom of the lane on his boat - lovely guy. We overpaid for our night to make up for atleast 1 of the people who haven't paid previously. For £5 its an absolute bargain. Toilet and waste facility and bins including recycling

  • 5/5

Absolutely love this little spot. Felt really safe, lovely walks along the canal, tesco 6 mins walk away. Definitely pay your £5 though don't be tight. It's well worth it

  • 5/5

Great place to empty and refill.

  • 5/5

Sadly due to a few motorhome/campers deciding to stay at the volunteer maintained charity site, being abusive to the volunteer warden and refusing to make the suggested 5.00 a night donation towards the basin, which includes water, elsan and rubbish disposal and your overnight stay we may have to stop overnight stays here. If you are not prepared to make this small donation maybe it's not for you

  • 5/5

We stayed here overnight and parked up alongside the canal where there is space for around 5-6 Motorhomes/campers or 10+ cars. The Navigation Arms pub now has parking restrictions on it with a maximum stay of 8 hours so not suitable for an overnight unless you arrive very late and leave very early. We had a great stay would definitely stay again

  • 5/5

Fantastic place to stay for the night. Great little pub.toilet block available. £5 donation to canal trust. Would stay again.

  • 5/5

Without a doubt the best site we've ever stopped on. Pablo is a super friendly and helpful warden - nothing is too much trouble for him. Excellent location for a nice walk along the canal with a pub and Tesco less than 5 mins away. All services available for only £5 per night - what more could you ask for.....

  • 5/5

As previous comments, really nice and safe spot with amenities and local pub (Timmy Taylor - Landlord) plus walking distance to town…. We decided to stay an extra night.

  • 5/5

An absolutely lovely stopover, lovely wardens and a fantastic historic canal basin, easy canal walk to Whaley Bridge and tesco. Water, toilet and elsan point, all for £5.

  • 5/5

Lovely little place, easy to find and lovely walks along the river, also had a lovely toastie from the canal boat cafe and paid £5 for staying over

  • 5/5

Will be staying here again. Warden very helpful. A beautiful spot to stay overnight.

  • 5/5

Loved this stop. Paid Carly in the canal boat cafe as her husband was at the hospital that day. Walked up and down the canal. Geo cached from the van. A little road noise but not terrible paid £5 and very happy to help this canal area with our donation

  • 2/5

It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Noisy all night yah the boats are nice. Not worth a fiver. Better stopping at whaley bridge quite nice and free

  • 5/5

Great spot in Bugsworth basin. paid a fiver donation. great views and loverly flat walks. only downside weather!!!! lol

  • 5/5

Great find! Beautiful area. We parked down by the toilets. There was a nice boat serving food, we had lovely cheese and ham toasties! Paid the warden £5 for the stay. Went to the navigation pub which was brilliant. They serve food in there too. The pub car park is free to stay over for patrons but you do have to book in advance. Easy to walk into Whaley bridge along the tow path

  • 5/5

Nice, quiet and safe. As mentioned, pay your fiver and enjoy your stay. Toilets available but didn't use. Had a pint and a wander. Stayed one night but will definitely return for longer.

  • 4/5

Great place to spend the evening and night. Pay your fiver to the warden and everyone's happy.

  • 5/5

Stayed here on our first trip out, slightly worried but we needn't of been "Pablo" the warden what a nice guy Payed him £5 to park he serves toasties, egg and bacon sandwich, cake, coffee all very reasonably priced. Toilets and toilet emptying facilities on site Met fellow campers and had fun what more do you need? 5*

  • 4/5

My first overnight stay in my micro camper. A really nice spot. Only a couple of other vehicles there, got chatting to a very friendly couple. When I asked the pub landlord if I was ok staying there, he said you're supposed to book, but seeing as I asked, it was ok. No warden. Only thing, it's close to a busy main road which is a bit noisy. It does quieten down through the night though.

  • 4/5

Stayed here last night, great spot by the canal basin. Payed £5 to the warden who showed us to a parking spot near to the toilet, which was open all night. Short walk to Whaley Bridge for food and drinks. Quiet through the night. Will stay again.

  • 5/5

Wonderful little place, great for a walk down the canal path and read about the history. Find the warden to pay £5 for the upkeep and you're all set. There is even a pizzeria/coffee narrow boat (didn't Tey so can't comment on that!). Lovely place for a night.

  • 5/5

Stayed last night arrived mid day paid £5 to Pablo who then unlocked the toilets. Lovely spot, a few walkers going past during the day but quiet at night. Would recommend

  • 5/5

Stayed the night 7/5/2021 beautiful spot at the side of the canal . found the warden and gave our £5 . nice walk into Whaley bridge where the bar boat was serving drinks . excellent

  • 5/5

Great location make sure you drive right to bottom and pay warden in the boat next to footbridge (£5) Have been informed if people don’t pay they will stop overnights here so let’s not loose a great location

  • 5/5

Great spot! As per the comments, find Pablo pay the fiver and all is good. Pub across the road, tasty food. Just about to head to Whaley Bridge which is apparently a 25 min walk away! Will be back for sure ?

  • 5/5

Great place to stay,a bit of road noise but didn’t bother us.paid £5 to pablo,he offered to keep the toilets and chemical disposal open if we needed them.went to the Memorial club for a drink as the Navigation pub charge £4 a pint and your not allowed to stay overnight in their carpark.parking is next to the canal opposite the pub.

  • 5/5

Great place to stop, lots of room, toilet open 24/7. Beautiful canal walks. Pedro the warden asks for a £5 donation per night, for use of the toilet, water and Elsan. You can find him in the canal boat near the footbridge, there's a sign on the grass next to it saying "Warden".

  • 5/5

Arrived late and left early, so no sign of warden. Nice peaceful night on flat ground. Can hear dual carriageway but not enough to disturb. Not much to complain about! Great scenery.

  • 5/5

A beautiful stop over. Pablo the warden very amicable. If you park by the shop he asks for a donation to stay and leaves the toilet unlocked for you to use. A very interesting place.

  • 5/5

Lovely little place. Pablo is the warden and he would really appreciate it if we could let him know we would like to stay as it is an English heritage site. He has a contribution box in the shop for the use of the water and elsan. He would just appreciate people asking first. the has a boat on the canal with a sign stating warden so just be courteous and let him know your there.

  • 5/5

Basically 3 parking areas here: the small municipal car park; the pub car park, and parking alongside canal basin. We parked alongside canal, no tv signal. Busy during the day but quieter than I expected at night, A6 tuns quite near and traffic noise in the daytime is very noticeable. Tesco just across bridge, at canal junction, direction Whaley Bridge, 10min walk at most.

  • 4/5

Nice find for late at night. Pulled in near the wall on the opposite side of the road to the pub. Some road noise in the morning but ideal for a quick nights stay.

  • 5/5

FANTASTIC. keep driving along the canal and you will find a little shop with 4 x parking spaces on flat ground. there is a volunteer warden who will greet you, show you where to fill water etc. Opportunity to volunteer to help maintain the basin. also chemical toilet facility and toilet is open

  • 5/5

A Great Place Level parking .The Navigation Pub is Very Nice and Dog friendly we have 3 Dogs a Great place to Explore the Canal Basin

  • 3/5

Stayed one night as we were travelling north and going to to Manchester the next morning, arrived late and left quite early, its a nice place, very quiet through the night but there's a lot of road noise in the morning which surprised me as it seems quite out of the way. We parked against the wall on the other side from the pub but noticed there was a van behind the pub in the morning.
