A slightly uneven large layby off a very quiet road, less than a mile to The Tan Hill Inn, beautiful views, no restrictions. The road states not suitable for "long vehicles", however I only noticed the sign after turning in, coming in from the north side was no trouble at all with my LWB sprinter. Update: I recommend coming and leaving from north side only if you're in anything bigger than VW Transporter.

simply stunning views, so quiet, just sheep and birds for company!

What a beautiful spot! Stayed here for two nights in Feb 2023. No other campers as everyone else up at Tan Hill. About a mile to the pub if that’s your thing. Beautiful walk to Ravenseat Farm & Wain Wath Force over Roberts Seat (around 10miles). The odd car but quiet road, farmer passed on a quad (very friendly), absolutely no light pollution (will be beautiful to stargaze when the weathers right)

Brilliant spot, views and walks around this whole area are spectacular. Like has been said no bins so must be willing to take rubbish home. To be fair we normally do a litter pick around where we stop but there was nothing for us to gather up at this spot which is nice to see.

A great stopover, no bins so please take away your rubbish. A few sheep, nothing else, no traffic overnight, very peaceful sleep.

A great find, perfect walking area, very quiet as described. Wonderful to wake up and just see sheep and a fantastic landscape.

Really surrounded by nature (and sheep). Peaceful at night. Minimal traffic during the day. Not horizontal but OK.

Stayed one night after leaving the overcrowded Tan Hill Inn just up the road. Pub is within walking distance if you’re up for it. Surrounded by sheep quiet road during the night. I would not recommend you approach via Stonedale Lane, approach via long causeway. You will also see the Tan Hill Inn that way
