Marsden station car park. Large area, empty when we were there. 5 minutes from Marsden shops and pubs. 10 minutes along the canal to Standedge tunnel. Some distant train noise, dog walkers in the morning. A nice spot.

Big but full with puddles after rain, it's December and two other campers are with me, the night was super quiet apart from the frequent going trains which were a headache for me not in the day but in the night. Some sounded as if a big truck was heading into my van, was maybe from the wind Surroundings invite to explore, town centre was small but cosy.

Very large and open cobbled car park, main railway line running nearby which did not disturb us, main entrance is off Station Road if you cross the railway bridge you have gone too far, some boy racers but they left early

Just arrived here and it's closed from the 24th - 29th September 2023 due to filming! Disappointing as it looks like a fab place to stay.

  • 4/5

Spent a rainy afternoon and evening here, car park was quite flooded. Several other vans, trains are quite loud and run until quite late and start early. No bother from anyone.

  • 4/5

Would of been ideal except a selfish couple in a camper van parked next to us by playing loud music, shouting and laughing till at least 4 in the morning. Ended up moving to a quiet road over the railway line. Shame on you

A very nice one night spot for us. Bit bumping as you come in but flat ground very welcome. sign as you go in say you can stay for 72 hours.

  • 5/5

Great place to park with very short walk into the village. There is a skateboard park where youths gather. They had some music playing to about 10pm then left. No issues felt very safe.

Go up the steep cobbled entrance off Station Road. It’s hidden away around to the right. Could be a bit grim in winter, but quite nice in good weather. Big space for any size vehicle. Lots of cars when I stayed, but thinned out later afternoon. Max 3 nights.

Stayed several times, no problems. Youngsters gather at nearby skate park and games court but far enough away to not be a bother. Free narrowboat shuttle from steepish cobbled car park entrance opposite railway station will take you to canal tunnel entrance to a good free visitors centre museum and waterside cafe. Sometimes vehicles move at night if working on adjacent railway. Good location.

Common with late night meet ups. Even mid week. Currently 10.45pm and hear the commotion outside. No real harm, just annoying

  • 5/5

Yes you can stay up to 72 hours! V short walk to several good pubs in village centre

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet. Great signal. Good place to throw the ball for the dog, if there are no sheep around.

  • 5/5

Parked up here overnight. Some train noise it. stops about 11 pm There is plenty of parking spaces. Couple of vans here already. Local to pubs and shops. Some noise from local boy racers early hours but then they moved on. Definitely worth a visit.

Note - Access from Station Road, not Dirker Drive. 72h max stay permitted.

Stayed 18/12/21 should of been a nice peaceful night only workmen arrived at 11pm went about 1 am ,all around van talking never mind will try again not put off ,seemed brilliant earlier.

  • 5/5

Great overnight stop, there was a few other motorhomes and a few campervans already parked up but plenty of space left, very peaceful with the odd train passing. very level ground so no need for ramps and good signal on the mobile which made it easy to plan the route and next stop, will get there earlier to try out the pub across from the entrance to the car park next time

  • 5/5

Large quiet car park, we stayed for the 72 hours allowed over the Bank Holiday weekend , several vans and Motorhomes arrived and enjoyed the free park up. some good shops and pubs close by. level , entrance is steep and cobbled.

Fantastic little place. Walk 20 mins to Sparth Reservoir for some wild swimming. Gorgeous canal walks, plenty of pubs & shops nearby.

  • 4/5

Good spot for an overnighter. was quiet enough once the kids in the skate park went home but they were no bother anyway. Train noise up until midnight but didn't bother us .

  • 5/5

Great o/n stopover! Peaceful after 10.30 when the youngsters moved on. Flat parking, close to shops, eating places and pubs. Good canal walks. with a 7 m long moho it is perfect!

  • 5/5

    Nice little park up.shops nearby.perfick.

Stayed here last night. Nice spot all in all. Big, flat. Free parking and nothing that says you can’t park overnight. Few kids about in local park but were no bother. Couple of cars playing loud music late in the evening was the only real issue. Got used to train sounds after a little bit so they didn’t bother us. Really close to local shops. Can recommend the local fish and chip shop.

Just highlighting this lovely spot as it's in our home village. Great spot with village shops and a few good pubs and cafes a short walk away. Big flat area next to a railway line so some noise but service is significantly reduced after 11pm. Glass recycling point in car park. Overnight camping permitted.

  • 5/5

Nice big flat car park. Free to park & overnighting allowed. Train track & station is right next door so some train noise can be heard. Teenagers hang out here as there is a skate park & basketball court. They played music while we were here but we just opened our window & enjoyed it. Lovely canal walks on the doorstep. 15 minute walk down the tow path to Standedge tunnel. Beautiful scenery driving into the town with stunning moorland all around.
