Lovely little park up with the river nearby. A nice circular walk too from the car park. No toilets but bins. We were there with one other van. Dog walkers throughout the day. Quiet at night.

  • 5/5

Stayed here a few times now and it’s a good little spot out the way. No lights at night so great views of the stars. Large 20m by 20m round hard standing with views of Brora river that you can hear flowing past. Few large potholes as you enter but otherwise nice and level. Worth a stop if you are flying round the NC500

  • 4/5

We stayed here for 1 night, upon arrival there was one other car, but they left within the hour. Its a large circular hard standing which could accommodate several vehicles, some large potholes upon entry. Situated by a stream which was flowing fast so water noise could be heard. A couple of dog walkers arrived early morning. Waste bins and picnic bench on site. No toilet facilities.

  • 5/5

A lovely spot with great views of the river and super quiet. Plenty of space for vans of all sizes with relatively flat ground and bins for waste. Only 10 minutes into Brora and around 15/20 to the beach. Not much traffic on the road so was quiet. Good signal on EE and Vodafone.

  • 5/5

Beautiful quiet spot. 10 minute walk into the village with toilet and co op and maybe another 5 down to the most beautiful beach. Recreation ground over the road which is good for dogs to have a run off. Left a donation as to have something this good for free is rare.

  • 5/5

Gorgeous little spot overlooking the river. Quiet and good signal so I could work from the van for a couple of hours. 10 min walk into town, 20 to the beach. 2 others vans parked up whilst I was there, felt safe as a girl travelling solo.

  • 4/5

Quite a popular spot, and not very level. However, very peaceful and quiet along a babbling stream

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot by the river. Good, level gravel surface with room for several vans. Very little traffic along the road. We had a peaceful night and we were happy to leave a donation in the box. There were two other motorhomes as well as us here last night.

  • 5/5

Such a lovely site to stay overnight. Scenery is beautiful. Happy to pay into the honesty box. Thank you Brora for letting people use this site. We are travelling around beautiful Scotland with our young daughters. We are so grateful for kindness of places like this. You have made our holiday special.

  • 5/5

lovely quiet place to stay for the night.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Great park up spot for self sufficient campers. nice walk along the river and close to the beach for a morning swim. Quiet with lots of space, honesty box on the tree. Please donate to maintain these kinds of parking spots.

  • 4/5

have to agree with everyone else, a great place to park up for the night.

  • 5/5

A lovely, level and peaceful overnight parking area with access to some lovely walks. Overlooking the river. Delighted to contribute £10 via the honesty pay box on the tree to help keep this kind of facility open fire is all.

  • 5/5

Large level carpark complete with a welcome sign and bins. Beautiful view of the river Bora and a short walk into village and beach. Excellent stop. 5 vans and still room.

  • 5/5

Fantastic stop. Large, Level, has internet signal with Smarty, walking distance to shops. Two bins and Honesty box for donations. Recommend this stop

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning spot by the river. You have to take the road which is signposted Brora visitor centre. If you’re coming from Tain / Inverness it’s the first turning on the left just over the wee bridge. No facilities but breathtaking views.

  • 5/5

Toller Stellplatz. Absolute Empfehlung!

  • 5/5

excellent peacefull stopover next to the river with bins very clean lets keep it that way leave no trace

  • 5/5

Best nights sleep we’ve had on our NC500 trip, that’s including the campsites. 10/10 recommend. The only downside is we cooked outside and suddenly there were 100 flies. But that’s to be expected near the river.

  • 5/5

Tranquil spot on the river. Donation box. 0.6 miles riverside walk brings you to co-op, public toilets and a lovely pub. Would definately stay again. Stay date April23

  • 5/5

Stayed here on our NC500 route. A stunning view of the river and lovely and quiet. Plenty of room and flat!

  • 5/5

Great spot right by the river. Plenty of room for a number of vans .. flat level ground but the access lane from the road is very uneven so do drive in/ out slowly. We found afterwards there is also a further great parking spot a couple of miles along the road on the edge of Loch Brora if preferred

  • 5/5

Our second wild park up on the NC500. This place is stunning, the river next to the car park is beautiful. We parked up so our doors opened up to the river ❤️ in the morning we drove down to the golf course on the beach to watch the sunrise with a coffee in our van. There was only one other couple using there car and tent box at the same time as us. No trouble at all. Bin and a donation box x

  • 4/5

A nice big area to park. Not all level and some big potholes to get past on the way in. But relaxing sounds of the river and a quiet road made it very comfortable.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, very quiet and no one here but we did stay in mid November. We did have a little trouble finding it, probably because it was dark already. Thank you for the suggestion.

  • 5/5

Excellent park up for the night . Nice quite spot right by the river . Short walk into town. Make sure you follow the silver jubilee walk by the river on the way into town as fairies really do live there! Coffee chocolate cafe is closed on Mondays but we did manage to find another nice cafe

  • 5/5

Flat, quiet and so close to a lovely little village with a fantastic coffee/chocolate shop. a great find

  • 4/5

peaceful spot for the night. sound of river good coverage, rubbishbins

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet and spacious park up with two bins. Has a view of the river. There is a footpath from the park up that allows for a nice walk along the river. No toilet facilities but a sign that allows overnight stays and an honesty box for donations so bring cash! Only two other vans on the night we stayed here.

  • 5/5

stayed for one night. Fantastic spot on the river.half a mile from shops and a local pub.will except family's and dogs. Great little town

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Great spot. Nice and quiet and plenty pace for lots of vehicles. Little walks down to the river and nice viewing spot from the car park looking down at it during dinner.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

staying here so we can go to dunrobin Castle in the morning, ground is a little uneven however there is enough space for at least 10 large vans comfortably, small bench to sit on watch the river, river view is beautiful, few cars (dog walkers) drove on & off, been here a few hours and seems like we will enjoy a good sleep ahead...absolutely would stay again. good WiFi signal, bins available.

  • 5/5

Great little site for an overnight stop. Quiet, river views, short walk into Brora. We spent a day here, beach great, ice-cream from Capaldis always worth the stop! There’s a small box for a donation…one other van

  • 4/5

Great little spot, just one other van there the night we stayed. Very quiet and picturesque. Donation left. Unfortunately the chavs have left their deposits too, namely the piles of used loo roll in the nearby woods

  • 5/5

Super pour une nuit, très calme. Boîte pour les donations

  • 5/5

Great find, views are stunning & so peaceful, make sure you leave a donation

  • 5/5

We stayed here last night, a perfect little spot out of the way of the village with a lovely view of the river to watch the sunset of you get there in time and sunrise in the AM. A five minute drive to the beach with a little shop on the way and a petrol station in the village. We didn't have anyone staying in the car park with us but there was plenty of room for many vans and longer motorhomes.

  • 5/5

Lovely place to park up. Just up out of Brora with a great view next to the river. Bins and can camp over night. Just give a couple of £ donation in the honesty box. No facilities but public toilets and shops just a small walk away. Stayed 11.03.2022

  • 5/5

Lovely little spot nice and quiet too

  • 5/5

This was a lovely spot to stop off in on our journey. Stayed the night and there was only 2 other camper vans. The local town was a 10 mins walk with shops, restaurants and a free toilet. The road was quite over night and river was very relaxing to listen to. Bins provided on site to get rid of rubbish.

  • 5/5

Nice, quiet over night stop. Sound of the river lovely throughout the night and a nice view to wake up to. Only joined by one other van.

Lovely overnight stop. Very peaceful with no traffic noise.

  • 5/5

Great overnight stop had here! the sound of the river below is so relaxing. short walk into the village. bins onsite but nothing else. few cars pulled in late afternoon/ early evening taking their dogs for a walk but lovely and quiet all night.

  • 5/5

Wonderful place to stop by the river. There are bins and a donation box which goes towards keeping the place tidy. Lovely walk for the dogs to run about. The local shops and sandy beach five minutes walk away.

  • 5/5

Quiet, easy to find and lovely view by the river. Bins on site for rubbish. Great nights sleep too!

  • 5/5

Great park-up. Next to the river. Level ground. Two rubbish bins. Great 4G signal. Very quiet.

  • 5/5

Very cool little spot! lovely to wake up next to the river. could hear a few cars pull in to the car park during the evening and overnight but overall not too noisy.

  • 5/5

We loved it here. Are first wild camp and couldnt have been better, very peaceful waking up to the sound of the river.

  • 5/5

Great little spot. Take the 1st left over the bridge in town if your coming from the South. Nice and quiet, only 1 other Moho

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet - a large flat carpark with lovely walks along the side of the river. No services but bins for rubbish

  • 5/5

Beautiful quiet , well kept spot by the river - stayed one night in large motorhome . Even surfaces and plenty of space - only facilities are bins but we were self sufficient . We took a small walk down into the town and had a drink at the local pub. Would definitely recommend.

  • 5/5

We didn’t actually stay as we arrived in Brora too early. But the site is flat and probably has area for number of vans. Couple of bins and bench. Would imagine it would be quiet.

  • 5/5

Great parking spot for the evening right next to the river. Flat compacted area with bins and good phone signal.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot by the river, two vans overnight, we stayed for one night and moved on. Left our area as we found it, It was quiet and we had a good sleep. its a short walk into town if you feel the need and a good stop over

  • 5/5

Plenty of other vans (6 in all) but quiet till morning and just the sound of the river (and rain). Clean with bins for rubbish.

  • 5/5

Large level area next to river nice place to stay for the night

  • 5/5

Have just woken up here after a very peaceful night. It's a lovely spot, really good nights sleep, one other van. highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Great spot for a stop over, about 10 minutes walk into town where they have a co-op, a pub and multiple shops and take aways.

  • 4/5

Really lovely spot but unfortunately was ruined by a large group of people who were loud, disrespectful and inconsiderate. They were fishing illegally and we were kept up until around 3am. Shame people like this ruin the name for campers.

  • 4/5

Lovely peaceful stop. The only sound was the river. No facilities of any kind but a nice safe place to park up and rest.

  • 5/5

Great undisturbed night, 2 campers inc us and a motorhome stayed the night. Beautiful views of the river and bins available. Would definitely recommend.

  • 5/5

Brilliant stopover! Large reasonably level area. Gorgeous views of the river. Easy 10 min walk into Brora and the friendly Sutherland Inn. We spent a lazy, sunny Sunday afternoon here and had a very quiet night. Early morning dog walkers but no disturbances at all. No facilities, just bins.

  • 5/5

Great spot . good for larger campers with space for at least 5-7 vans . highly recommended . over bridge next to river . the locals were so friendly, they even ‘hooted hellos at 6am and 9:30pm

  • 5/5

Lovely place n locals really friendly. Only my van there. A few cars but quiet.

  • 5/5

Lovely little area next to the river, plenty of space for several vans, pretty level. Quiet at night, just the sound of the water from the river. Cars passing or stopping from around 7am (dog walkers etc) but not a problem. Bins but no other facilities - but only a 10 minute easy walk into Brora which has public toilets etc. (Just wondering, does Highlandfea own the campsite at the end of the village that he/she keeps advising everyone to use? He/she seems to be very critical of all the ‘wild’ sites in this area that actually seem very nice...?!!)

  • 5/5

Stayed here for the night with a great view of the river. Walked down to the beach in the evening. 2 other vans here overnight all very nice and quiet night.

  • 1/5

Locals didn’t seem to want people parking here, some unfriendly signs were up. When my partner was walking the dogs some youths threw stones at them so we left as we didn’t feel safe here.

  • 5/5

Fabulous stop next to the river. Amenities only a short walk away. Harbour and golf close enough to walk. Highland fea seems to have a lot of bad luck! All the stops he/she says are terrible are generally pretty good when we get there.

  • 5/5

Easy access. A great stop for a picnic or longer stop. Plenty of room to turn around the caravan. Beautiful views along the riverbed. At a trail head.

  • 5/5

Stayed last night its beautiful a lovely stop on way to and from John O Groats There was 5 Mohos in last night plenty of room

  • 5/5

I don't know what sort of depressants highlandfea was on, but his comments are totally unfounded. It is a fantastic stop, adjacent to a beautiful waterway. We cycled to the beach, which is beside the golf course. We then stopped at a pub in the village before going back. We were the only ones staying overnight.

  • 1/5

Terrible site full.of midges and horse fly. River is noisy and over used as it smells of urine and there was visable poo ..not good avoid .Locals are wonderful in the village best stay at the campsite at the end of the village
