Good for a 1 night stopover, very quiet except couple of lads smoking weed but they were quiet and soon drove off, cafe was open in the morning, nice breakfast, a little pricey but all for a good cause for the rspca animal rescue next door.

Lovely quiet night, left our vehicle for the day (£5 for over 6 hrs) and took train into Manchester, then stayed overnight. Toilets open 0900-1600 and are clean. Didn’t use café so can’t comment. Gets very busy in the mornings by 0930.

Now reopened with new cafe dog friendly. Toilets etc. parking is free after 6pm till 8am and a £1 ticket purchased after 6pm will give you till 10am if you want a later start.

quiet place .lovely for dog owners. pretty . People who own dogs ...if you collect it ...bin it !! these pretty places are gettung spoilt by the dog poo bags being thrown in the hedges. rain does not wash plastic poo bags away. stick and flick is better . no plastic and will wash away . lovely walks would stop again.

CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR WORKS. Nice place to stay if there's other campervans around, we stayed a few weeks ago with another camper there and felt safe. However we went on our own last week and as we arrived after dark we were put off as there aren't any lights and we could see some people hanging around smoking.

yes it's a good park up and cheap. I arrived just after 6pm. bought a £3 ticket which gives overnight parking then up to 6 hours parking. yes you can get youngsters in their cars with loud ( to me ) music but they only stayed ten minutes to eat their burger and drop the litter. I picked it up next morning. otherwise I would have given five stars

Stayed here one night mid week; the best Park up I have stayed in awhile... super quiet , nice views , short walk from a pub . I arrived at 4pm so only had to pay £2 to get the over night parking, if you arrive earlier its alittle more upto £6 at the top end. The car park is massive and I drove right up the top end, very muddy but much more quiet. loved my stay here; I shall be back

Great park up no noise during night , plenty of space for medium sized vans

I stayed one night. The bays are regular size (not well suited for large mobile homes). Also, the parking is £5 for the day, free overnight. The café doesn't offer parking, so the cost for the café is more than the pub down the road. The picnic areas are well presented, and there are many to choose from. I didn't discover many walks in the area, but the nearby reservoir may be worth a circular

Great spot! The car park is MASSIVE so we found a quieter spot at the back. Arrived quite early and there were still lots of people parked at the front for the wine pub at the front. There were a couple of cars that came round but also the police came and asked everyone what they were doing. But had a super peaceful night and saw so many deer grazing in the field, a family of badgers and there were plenty of friendly squirrels around. The visitor centre and cafes on the lake have toilet facilities too

Nice place but at 3 am! Teenagers arrived in the their cars, playing loud music (and using drugs?) didn’t feel very safe

  • 4/5

Good spot for an overnight stay, you do sometimes get the "night smokers" playing music from there cars, they don't stay there all night, once there gone it's piecefull... last time I was up there I got a Knock on my van from 3 coppers at 22.45...wanting to know what I was doing,in all fairness they were sound with me..they were just checkin I wasn't doin drugs

Nice area for a peaceful overnight stay . can pay at parking machine after 6pm- which in turn starts at 8am so that you don't have do it in the morning. toilets open through the day closed at night . no overnight bans whatsoever.

  • 5/5

Great place. No barriers just make sure you pay for the day £2.50 before 8 as the wardens are hot. come and go on the same ticket all day and free after 6pm. my local parking spot, you get the odd digger but they don't bother you.

£2.20 to park from 8am-6pm then free overnight. Good Breakfast at Visitors Centre Cafe. Great to cycle around the Lake. Good Pub a short walk away (The Wine Press) Take a torch car park is dark.

Après 18 heures de nombreux camping-cars utilisent cet endroit calme. le lac est un endroit idéal pour les promenades pédestre ou cyclistes. // After 6pm lots of motorhomes use this quiet spot. the lake is a great place for cycle and walks.
