A fair bit from the road no restrictions its just big enough for 3 small campers or 2 motorhomes yes there is road noise but no mess sleeping at all perfect spot for bird watching , i would get here early as there is no other no restrictions free parking in the area and 2 other campers/RVs are picking up

Alright spot for the night! Nice views, quite out of the way, scary '3ft flooding' signs all the way down and sinking sand/mud nearby but we just stayed in the van! Quite a few cars going past until around 8-9pm then it quietened down, no problems at all overnight. Huge puddles so avoiding those may be an issue if you have to share with another van, if not, park lengthways adjacent to the road..

Schöner Blick aufs Wasser oder Watt. Tagsüber kommen Vogelbeobachter oder Wanderer vorbei. Wir standen über Nacht alleine. Unbedingt die Glasson Moss NR Wanderung (Solway)machen.

Perfect little spot, very quiet and level. Big dustbin and a bench over looking the water. Lots of walkers starting their Hadrians wall walk and lots of Birds when tide goes out. Room for 1-2 6m motorhomes or 3 campers with a bit of careful parking.

Great views over the estuary with lots of birds to look at. Yes you are by the road but only a few cars at night so got a good sleep. Very small carpark just managed to squeeze my 7.5m van in. Ideal for camper vans

the lay by is called Bowness point. The high tides no not reach the point so no worries there ,but you might find yourselves stuck as the road between there and port Carlisle closes due to high tide and in the other direction towards Bowness also closes due to high tide.i live 2 mile down the road

Parked overnight on 18/03/22 Wow what an awesome park up. Had no issues at all. Slept really well as it was quiet. There is a rubbish bin so as long as people clear up after themselves they will be fine. It is exposed so it could be windy during the winter. We were only ones parked up there overnight. People that passed runners/walkers all very nice. We have 3 dogs. It’s a great spot for them too.

Beautiful place to stop. Amazing place to bird watch, we spend a good 3 hours taking photos and identify as there were so many species of birds :) plus when is dark you can still hear them talking away which is lovely. road not busy at all, especially at night. has a bin. definitely going to go back.

Stayed 15 08 2021. Superb spot and very quiet. Beware spring tides though as could reach parking level if coincides with high winds.

Great spot for the night, quiet and with a great view. Just enough space for 3 vans/motorhomes. No signs preventing stays for the night.

We didnt find it by coordinates..the spot is just after the RSPB car park at Bowness on Solway and on the way to Glasson..lovely spot
