Lovely spot by a stream as you head from Rosedale Abbey to Hutton-le-Hole. Very quiet nights sleep and sheltered from the elements should the wind pick up. May require levelling blocks for larger campers, however there is parking space for at least 2 vehicles on both sides of the bridge. Nearby toilets are at Hetton-le-Hole.

Great spot! By a road but not many cars coming past beautiful views. space for 2 on one side and another 2 the other side

Great little spot, no signal but by the stream and not a particularly busy road. Was the only van given quite poor weather conditions but didn't feel exposed or unsafe.

beautiful spot stopped here last night very peaceful will definitely use again

Stopped here on a Saturday night in January. Nice quiet sheltered spot with only the sheep passing us. Lovely walk into Hutton le hole.

Don't want to sound like a kill- joy,but you are not actually supposed to park here overnight. Park Rangers or local gamekeeper may move you on. Please be discreet if you stop, regular numbers of motorhomes and campers here will result in the parking area being blocked/ signs erected, by the Spaunton Estate that own the land. Thanks.

Nice quiet spot. A few other campers and walkers around but we were undisturbed. The village of Hutton le Hole is about a ten minute walk away and has a great pub and some nice shops and tea rooms. Lots of options for walks etc. of course.

very pleasant place to camp and no midges in March. a bit chilly though

  • 5/5

I live nearby so have wild camped twice. Parking for 4 vans (or more if part of a group). Midges are too annoying July / August but other than that a perfect spot. Hutton Le Hole (pub, cafes and museum) less than a mile away. Plenty of good walks. Whitby, Scarborough 20 miles away, York about 25.

Wonderful secluded spot, with stream for water if needed, but midges were a pain so ended up going up the hill for the breeze.

Really beautiful spot next to a river. very quiet and peaceful, no one else there when we stayed. only problem was millions of midgies at dusk!

Lovely quiet spot with the sound of the stream in the background. Had one vehicle drive past around 10pm beeping their horn continuously. Other than that it was quiet. I had lots of tiny flies bothering me though, could have just been the warm muggy evening for it

Wonderful magnificent spot! Max 4 vans i think would fit. Right by a stream. A few cars honked in the night. But very little traffic. Busy in the morning with walkers on a weekend

Nice quiet spot. One i shall return to. Some proper toilets are located in the nearby village carpark in Hutton le Hole but they have opening times as we discovered.
