Stayed one night. Arrived just before sundown, left around 11. The ground in the lay-by is very boggy at the moment (February) so had to park parallel to the road, used a tyre mat to avoid spinning /bogging. Was close to road but not kept awake by traffic noise. Amazing views over Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle.

Amazing spot. Perfect views of Loch Ness. The road had minimal traffic so super quiet. There’s a very small rocky beach just below the park up where you can set up - we had the whole place to ourselves

Nice little campsite right off the road. It was a bit muddy after rainfall, and there were cars using the road, though wasn't too much of a bother. Nice short trail to the lake, stunning views! And cell service was good!

we stayed overnight in a strip signposted with a P, there was a large picnic area and good views over Loch Ness and Urquart Castle, pebble stone path to shore, to enjoy your coffee/ wine. confirmed by a ranger parking overnight is allowed but please do not park on grass verge for safety. did not sleep well as still traffic overnight and they pass very close. will not do that again mobile cover

A lot of noise but a nice private beach.

  • 2/5

Very muddy and would be tight for 1 camper to use with the way the road is. For this reason we didn't use, turned back and used a large parking area, very glad we did!

Tried to park in here but 2 vans parked very inconsiderately with tables and stuff out. Made it impossible to park. No signal on EE Or O2

vue extraordinaire. petite plage en contrebas. circulation de voitures non gênante. un peu de boue. pourrait être un problème pour les campings car

We investigated on an early December evening but the space was really muddy (we feared getting stuck), was on a camber towards the loch and felt hemmed in on quite a busy road near a bend. We decided to move on.

Great spot, quiet road and beautiful views! Bit steep down to the loch but so worth it!!!

  • 3/5

The spot is a parking spot by the side of the road next to the loch. great for sun sets and a walk along the loch but no great for sleeping as cars passing is noisy and the passing cars causes wind which causes the motorhome to rock when trying to sleep. slept most of the night when traffic was low but got woken up by passing cars.

Great stop along this road. Only space for one campervan but there are laybys all the way along so worth driving down to check out. One thing I would say is that it is a very fast road (despite being narrow and very bendy!) and the cars speed by you which felt a little risky.

Amazing spot for a stop, even to spend the night. We didn’t stay because it was rainy and too many insects.

  • 5/5

Great spot, little path down to the beach to the left hand side. Very quiet apart from the odd vehicle moving past during the night. Make sure to bring some insect repellent to keep unwanted biters away.

I confirm previous comments. Best spot of our Scottish trip.

  • 5/5

Great spot. Incredibly lucky to have this all to ourselves. Some slight muddy rutting but can park away from it. Steep but manageable access down to Loch Ness. Great entry in for a dip!

  • 5/5

Absolutely fantastic spot! It’s a bit muddy but not a problem at all as there is a beautiful little private beach down to the left where you can set up a table and chairs, have a few beers and enjoy the gorgeous view of Loch Ness! Couldn’t of found a nicer spot!

Great spot. Quiet through the day and dead at night. Private beach was lovely. We watched the sunset over the Loch - bliss.

Amazing place to stay for the night, stunning views of Loch Ness, a little path went down to the lock where you could sit and chill for the evening and watch the sunset, not many cars had passed throughout the night. Very clean area. Would happily stay here again.

We didn’t stay here as it was far too muddy after some heavy rain, however it would have been the perfect spot otherwise.

  • 5/5

Ideal spot for a stop over ahead of starting the NC500, good sized layby, road was silent until around 7am. Occasional deer around in the early hours.

  • 5/5

Fantastic spot. Good sized pull in with a lovely view and the path down to the little beach area mean you can dip your toes in the water in the morning. It was (really) rainy while we were here but the path is rocky enough to not be too muddy. Would be amazing on a sunny day! Road was quiet over night with just a couple of cars whizzing past.

Amazing place to stop on route to the NC500! Spent one night here, fairly quiet road during the night, but does get busy from around 7am.

  • 5/5

Perfect spot with a beautiful view of Loch Ness. The private path down to a opening beach is wonderful. The spot is big enough for 1 big van. It's close to the road but extremely quite. I love this spot!

Highly recommended! We stopped here during our NC 500 trip and was worth it! The single lane track for a few miles may be difficult for big vehicles in certain weather conditions! However today we have seen HGVs on this road and there are plenty of passing places! The secret path to beach is steep but fun enjoy the views!!
