Although no camping is allowed in the area around the lighthouse, I am just providing some further information on accessing the lighthouse itself, which is well worth a visit. The pillars near the entrance are just over 9 feet apart as our motorhome is 8ft 11' (2.7m), and we had a couple of inches either side of the mirrors (which we didn't need to pull in) when we went through the pillars.
no camping and no overnight parking signs at the entrance and at the lighthouse itself. the access to the lighthouse is along a very narrow track that is traffic light controlled. at the end are 2 restrictive stone pillars that made a very tight entry. we had to fold the mirrors in and just made it through, but other vans might get stuck, and reversing back would be difficult.
New no parking signs at this spot. No overnight camping or parking at the lighthouse. Tight access for vans over 7m to lighthouse. An Aire here would make good money! Nearest campsite is in kilchoan 5 miles away.
