14/7/23 A really friendly pub to visit. The landlord helped us park our 7.5 m van in a bay. Easy access from A34. No facilities , ate in the pub , normal pub food. Nice walk round a wooded area to the right of car park for dogs. Quiet at night nice and safe. Close to supermarkets for the following morning.
Stayed here on Father’s Day so parking was busy to start with but soon got quieter. Felt very safe. Free parking did have a meal in the pub but it’s not a requirement. If mid week you can hear the kids in the morning going to school.
We hadn't called in advance ( it was a Wednesday evening). Parked up and were advised that we may have to move once the car park emptied but it wasn't problem. We had drinks and a meal (Ceasar salad and fish and chips - delicious!) and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone. Thanks to everyone for a very pleasant evening and night.
Excellent overnight with good food and service, can be busy and not many spaces early evening.
We phoned ahead and asked to stay. Very nice landlord and friendly staff. Nice cold beer and tasty food . No pressure to buy food. It’s a busy pub. My van is 7 mtr there was only 2 foot overhang anywhere in the carpark so not sure a longer motorhome would fit. Quiet night sleep.
We stayed there in July 2022. I contacted them in advance as we would be arriving very late. Helpful reply from manager who said it was free to stay but said we could make a donation to his charity if we wished. No pressure whatsoever, but obviously we were happy to make a donation. Quiet and well lit and felt safe.
Stayed last night, asked at the bar when buying our drinks and they were really accommodating. We parked up in the corner out of the way for 1 night. Really quiet night.
16/04/22 Landlord/bar staff very welcoming when we asked to stay overnight. Ate in the pub- popular place and decent quality food Quiet stay - slept well and it felt safe in our campervan Early dog walkers around and a trade car pulled in about 6:30a.m but no issues Stayed to go to the horse racing - very good location and would defnitely stay one overnight again

Asked the landlord if we could stay overnight, no problem he said. Ewen, the landlord was very friendly and welcoming. We had a nice meal and some beer in the pub. Recomend this place. Bjørg and Colin
Lovely pub, staff super friendly, great service, the food was really nice and it was a quiet night, no motorhome services, but perfect stopover
Suprisingly quiet at night. Didn't seem to be to busy but busy enough. Food was good staff were pleasant. They have a few motorhomes stop here. We were the only ones this night. Manager happy for you to stay. All local shops in walking distance tesco McDonald's etc Also chip shop and Chinese close too
