Very much just a small pull in on a bend in the road. Flat but didn't stay overnight as planned due to feeling exposed. As someone else has commented, lots of flies.
Charmante petite aire de repos sur une route tranquille avec un banc et une vue imprenable sur les landes. Parfait pour le déjeuner et un vrai régal pour une dernière étape avant le coucher du soleil. Le coucher de soleil le plus incroyable. La surface est principalement plate avec quelques ornières près du bord. Le fort romain est à une courte distance à pied et offre également les vues les plus spectaculaires.
Lovely little layby on a quiet road with a bench and stunning views of the moors. Perfect for lunch and a real treat for a last stop before sundown. The most amazing sunset spot. Surface is mostly flat with some ruts close to the edge. The Roman Hillfort is a very short walk away and it too has the most spectacular views.
Schöne kleine Raststätte an einer ruhigen Straße mit einer Bank und herrlichem Blick auf die Moore. Perfekt für das Mittagessen und ein echter Leckerbissen für einen letzten Stopp vor Sonnenuntergang. Der erstaunlichste Ort für den Sonnenuntergang. Die Oberfläche ist größtenteils flach mit einigen Furchen nahe am Rand. Das Roman Hillfort ist nur einen kurzen Spaziergang entfernt und bietet auch die spektakulärste Aussicht.

Great little spot with nice views. Some road construction machinery was parked there but there was still room for us and a smaller van came later that night. Road was quiet.

Surprisingly quiet spot. Was quite muddy but would expect that for the winter. Brilliant spot for a night or two. Another van turned up when I was there and there was plenty of room for another.

Really pretty quiet little spot…gorgeous walks through the woods and up around the old Roman Camp. Peaceful nights sleep with no traffic, spot is just off a quiet country lane, fantastic view and great for stargazing too…pretty flat space for parking up & plenty of room for LWB vans like ours. As mentioned no facilities about …also we had no phone signal with EE

Lovely view here! Most car traffic died down after 10pm (though its not a busy road anyway) and had a good sleep here. There’s a bench too so we sat and had dinner there. We left at around 10am. Unfortunately there were plenty of midges or mosquitoes (lake nearby) so we did get bitten quite a bit.

Amazing spot for the sunset. Nice walk through woods to hillfort. Quiet road, no cars throughout the night, first dog walker turned up at 8.30am. As everyone else has said - please take litter home so this hidden gem doesn’t get ruined!

Markrutherford29/04/2022Wonderful. It is as described. We were completely off the road and bang on level, only 10 feet from the edge. It’s quiet with a few cars passing during the afternoon and only a couple at night. The Hillfort is worth a visit and do go to the very end as it has amazing views across the moors with a super information board. The views from the parking spot are amazing and sunset spectacular.

Stopped for a night bank holiday weekend, great sunset and not disturbed. Maybe about 8 cars passed in 12 hours we stayed there. in nearby village cropton great pub with food and homebrewed ales and cider. definitely would stay again!

Lovely location and the view is stunning as expected! Relatively quiet lane with only a few people stopping to take in the view before moving on. The ground is a little bumpy but easy enough to find a flat bit for a level sleep! Quiet night's sleep with a gorgeous sunset too! No facilities here and please take your rubbish home with you, so as not to ruin it for others :)
