Quiet, massive area with room for about 20 cars/large campers. Not many cars going past in the night but lots of walkers in the Morning. Just enough phone coverage for O2. Would highly recommend! Great views too

Lovely peaceful night. Up early to watch the Sunrise over the valley mist. Two campers only parked up all night. Plenty of room. A few locals in the early evening, only one car parked up between 20:00. - 07:00 left after 30 mins.

Great place. Sloped but with perseverance you can find a flat spot. Superb views and easy access to Esk Valley walk plus a train back

Terrible spot. only one flat spot but that's not an issue, and there's a bin. But5 handful of youth come and make burns and donuts everywhere from 6pm to late at night. We didn't stay, we don't recommend it.

Stopped here on a couple of occasions now. Always had a peaceful night. Great views and never seen it busy.

  • 5/5

Lovely view, slightly sloped and gravel as stated by previous users. The area is also used by boisterous youths sliding their cars on the gravel. I have to admit that they left relatively soon as there were two campers. Felt unsafe for an awkward 15 minutes though. The village is probably accessible but down in The Valley. The few houses near the car park are purely residential

Lovely view! The lot is very sloped - to the point it’s almost beyond my ramps. A beautiful view and a large parking area! Signal is good… Not great… on EE.

Schöner Platz mit viel Schotter. Tolle Aussicht. Wir hatten eine ruhige Nacht.

  • 5/5

Still lots of gravel here but space to stay. A tiny bit slanted. Found a slightly leveled spot on the grass.

Ruhiger Kiesplatz abgelegen. Kein Schild für Parkzeit vorhanden (August 2022). Wir waren Zwei Vans die dort die Nacht verbrachten.

  • 4/5

Gravel parking area with plenty space. One other van when we stayed here. Nice views, pretty level.

  • 3/5

There was two great big piles of gravel in this spot, they must be resurfacing some roads nearby, would be a nice spot though but was too windy on the night we went.

  • 5/5

Great spot to stay overnight! Pretty windy up on the moors but other than that a quiet night. Nice and dark so on a clear night good for star gazing. Just a short walk to the shop, tea room and pub. It's a great pub that serves food and allows dogs. No amenities in the carpark other than a bin so make sure you're self sufficient.

Was great until a car pulled up with music blaring at about 11pm

Brilliant overnight stop.... Very quiet, didn't see any car or person from 6pm till 7am!!!! Lovely sunset/sunrise views (lucky had a clear night/morning) phone signal abit patchy but find a 'spot' n your good to go..... Spoke to a few locals in the morning too no issues what so ever.... One bin so probably best off taking your rubbish with you

Very quiet spot. Amazing views. Great for star gazing on a clear night. Rubbish bin. 3 bars of 4G phone signal.

  • 5/5

Great view, lovely area. Pub walking distance. Lovely walks

  • 5/5

Great spot to spend the night, couple of other campers there - but quiet. Parked on the grass as the gravelled area had piles of gravel on it - but loads of flat space around the area for vans. Sheep appear in the middle of the night, but a really pleasant night with beautiful views and a lovely sunset.

Just spent a blissful night completely alone with an amazing sunset. There are currently several mounds of gravel so nit sure if some work is going to be done. High on my favourite list.

  • 5/5

Our favourite spot to park in the area (but probably not great on a windy day/night). Popular spot for walkers but at night we've always been alone. Lorry or van drivers often pull in to take a break and stretch their legs but don't let that put you off! Locals were lovely and the ones we chatted to didn't have any issue with us sleeping there a couple of nights.

Quiet lovely car park type area . Bin was overflowing however quiet and lovely stay

  • 5/5

Good no one else here stayed over night. Lovely view

  • 4/5

Plenty of space and lovely outlook but it is exposed and very windy. we ended up driving down to a small, sheltered quarry about a minute's drive further down the road on the right. look out for an old metal gate just as the road bends right.

  • 5/5

Excellent overnight spot if you like to be alone. You do need to be self sufficient. We enjoyed a lovely evening alone apart from a couple of cars that parked to watch the sunset.

If you like a panoramic beautiful view and a very quiet night, this spot should get six stars. It's stunning, but check the wind forecast as it's exposed. Mostly slightly sloping but easy to get nearly level. It's a large parking area with one small bin so probably best we don't use it and take our rubbish, this location is too good to lose. No signage at all currently.
