Parking bay on the lake shore on a street with little traffic at night. The parking bay is on a small beach (pebbles). Great view of the lake and a waterfall. Great starting point for hikes

Arrived in the dark and left in the dark a quiet spot throughout the night. We had two others pull up for the night. Fairly windy but a great spot regardless. No issues.

Stayed there last night , Amazing very quiet and no light pollution! Only problem was service/signal was non existent. Definitely worth a stay stunning views .

  • 5/5

Amazing night here, road was busy at first but barely anyone went past overnight, would recommend

Stayed in the next lay-by heading towards Beddgelert. The spot in the photograph was occupied but looked very muddy and well worn. The next lay-by was slightly larger, more level & view of the waterfall. A bit rockier getting into the water for a swim but still accessible. Great food in Caffi Gwynant & toilets opposite in car park. Please leave no trace as we had to do a litter pick ! No signal.

Stayed here quiet a few times and had no problems, never been moved on! Quite a few campers here and on other spots down the road but all very welcoming & leave no trace. Would defo recommend!

Lovely little spot right on the edge of the lake. Wild swimming is fine here and plenty stop to take a dip. Fair amount of traffic late into the evening and starting very early in the morning that shook our van a little bit otherwise very quiet

Stayed for a second time and loved it however this time of year it would seem that from around 15:00 onwards as the weather starts to cool ALOT of midgies swam the area as well as some strange looking black flies.. I personally have been bitten over 40 times, 8 of which being on my face.. lovely spot but choose your timing wisely

  • 5/5

Beautiful beautiful place. Lay-by on the side of the road but big enough for a few small vans. The road was quiet and drowned out by the lovely sound of the water right next to us. Definitely recommend this spot.

Stayed here last night WOW Amazing stop over with incredible views no phone signal which we did not mind recommend stop over but leave no trace then not spoilt for others

Stayed here in mid March, nice peaceful stay with minimal traffic passing by. Lovely to wake up to such a pretty view. No phone signal but that’s pretty standard around this area. Will definitely return!

Stayed on 16/4/23. Perfect for walking the Watkin Path up Snowdon to the waterfalls or walking into Beddgelert. Very quiet road, odd car passes but doesn't disturb your sleep. Big enough for our lwb and perfect to wake up to a still beautiful lake

  • 5/5

Mirror lake on a very quite at night road. What a beautiful sight to awaken to.

  • 4/5

Did the trick. Nice and quiet but no phone signal

We stayed here this weekend (10/09/2022) and what a lovely spot! Shallow entrance into the water! Sunken ground due to tyre ware but it is still possible to get level.. my only advice would be to watch your solar panels on the acorns falling from the above trees but other than that its a beautiful spot!

Lots of vans but great spot to meet new people and see the sun over the lake with coffee and a swim

  • 5/5

Space for one van on side of the road, maybe two if you squeeze in. Gorgeous views and had a ‘private’ beach in front of us. Lovely lake for swimming. So peaceful and great night sleep. Road is practically empty after 9pm. One of the best spots we’ve ever parked at.

A great little spot that is away from all the busy areas. Great walk around the lake too.

  • 5/5

Great little spot with an amazing view. A little windy but would definitely stay here again.

  • 5/5

Great little spot with access to the lake.

  • 5/5

Great spot, what a view to wake up to! highly recommended.

  • 5/5

Great little lay-by with your own little beach, was a bit muddy but what a view to wake up to!

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, layby directly next to road but quite wide so little rocking and the road is very quiet through the night. There are laybys all the way down the stretch of road and we saw vans in all of them. Some have little beaches to the water but access can still be had from the others. Zero phone or Internet signal even with an aerial. Lovely swim but the midges got me.

  • 5/5

Really great spot, road is quite busy, but quiet after about 10pm ish. Gorgeous lake and went for swim in the morning!

  • 5/5

Perfect spot for a refreshing swim and very peaceful! Room for 4/5 vans. No signal at all was available. Very close to plenty of other lay bys on the road if this is full!

  • 5/5

Beautiful deep lay-by with direct access to the water. Totally alone all night, with a few cars stopping for swims/photos. Wild swimming and a lovely walk to the town of Beddgelert, passing the copper mines. No phone signal for miles, so have your route prepared and be ready to spend the night off-grid.

  • 4/5

Great layby, perfect for wild swimming. Close to the road, be careful. There are other laybys if this one is full. Absolutely no phone or Internet reception. - Leave NO trace - Choose plant-based foods

  • 5/5

The most beautiful view with the calming sound of the waterfall. It’s a quiet lay-by with no cars from around 10pm- 8am. Cooked breakfast on the beach and had a morning swim. There was only one other van there but plenty of space so we didn’t even cross paths. July 2021

  • 5/5

What a beaut of a spot. Stayed last night nice and quiet. No phone signal or Internet which was great. Few swimmers arrived in the morning. Definitely worth a stop.

  • 5/5

Amazing, stayed in the small lay by with a little beach, nobody else around, cooked breakfast on the beach then had a lovely swim, awesome view.

  • 5/5

Plan ahead any Internet downloads / digital hiking maps as no 3 or EE signal along A498. Passing Traffic vibration on some of the smaller laybys next to busy road until midnight then starts again at 0500. Flys

  • 5/5

We did two nights here. Totally peaceful at night, few other vans. Make sure you’re prepared for a war against midges though, that’s the price you pay for the spectacular water view.

  • 5/5

There are a few little laybys on this road. I stayed in a very small one with a little beach. It was idyllic. Very little night time traffic and a quick cold-water dip in the morning
