11/11/23 . stayed here on a clear rare night and had epic starry skies. no one else stayed apart from us .i was skeptical to stay here due to alot of "no over night camp signs" but you are just out of the national trust zone. but the same night other people was camping withing the zone and even lighting fires as well so dont fall the fear your being bad camping at this spot. just leave no trace!

Wir haben hier 2 ruhige Nächte mit wirklich toller Aussicht und umrundet von freilaufenden Schafen verbracht. Tagsüber kann man den nächstgelegenen Gipfel erklimmen oder am See verweilen - wirklich toll!!

June 2023 : Park up @ 10pm - 7am. Absolutely beautiful park-up! Flat grassy lay-by with room for 2 vehicles and literally outside the ‘no camping’ zone as mentioned. Views of England’s deepest lake and Englands highest mountain range! Insanely stunning scenery. So quiet and peaceful, you’ll wake up and still be lost for words.. “Leave It As You Found It”.

Lovely view, extremely quiet road, very flat ground as well which is tricky to come across. Perfect spot to sleep, especially if you’re heading to wast water or Scafell pike in the morning. However in the morning we were woken up by tractors trying to stack hay bales in the spot, so just be wary in the mornings. This was around 8am, our own fault obviously, no complaints about this spot at all :)

Fairly flat parking on grass, room for larger vans but could get bogged down if it's really wet, no signs stating 'no overnights' and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. One person honked their horn at about 9pm but other than that, no issues. Keep it clean and should continue to be a suitable spot.

Not too sure about sleeping next to the water with all the signs so stayed here. No one bothered us and went back to water for breakfast!

CNC will still fine you for overnight stays, this applies for all areas around Wastwater.
