Tanners Lane is quite a narrow road. It is possible to park on the beach itself, but it may pose issues for larger vehicles (I wouldn't recommend anything too large attempt it). View is of Isle of Wight (Entirety) and Hurst Castle. And from my experience was a very peaceful and tranquil place that is free to park at. The beach is mostly pebbles with some small sandy patches (stick to the pebbles or you may have difficulties).

you can literally park on the beach, although without 4 wheel drive i think i would have got stuck. very quiet and nice spot to stay. new "no camping" signs are present unfortunately, although they don't look enforceable.

The fun police have erected no camping signs. Was a great little spot, one of our favourites. Sad times.

Space for one smallish van not on double yellow lines. Some people were parked on the beach but we didn’t risk it. Basically like having a private beach!

DON'T GO ON TO THE BEACH! I just spent 2 hours getting un stuck!

  • 3/5

Nice spot, don’t park on the beach bit - you will get stuck, lane unsuitable for sleeping (uneven)

Very narrow lane with very uneven “lay-by/ road edge”. We took our MH down in wouldn’t recommend it. Luckily it wasn’t too busy and could turn around right at the end in the driveway. Only really suitable for vans ie vw campers etc

Park on the lane, NOT THE BEACH! I am stuck having been visited by the lovely Coastguard in force and now waiting for AA recovery while watching the tide come in! (small camper- Romahome!)

Really nice spot if you are light and small enough for the beach (hiace, vw caddy/t5 etc) Do not attempt the beach if you are bigger as we only just made it off with a run up! A larger van needed help by a 4x4 during our stay.

Lovely view but definitely not appropriate parking site. Double yellow line on the left and quite a few potholes. It is already tricky with a van, I can’t imagine a motorhome manoeuvrering comfortably here.

Personally I don't think this is an appropriate site. Narrow road, double yellows, pebbly beach. We have 5.4m van & had to turn around on pebbles. Not great & better beaches west of Lymington.

Very disappointed with very uneven parking also lack of turning space ( use someone drive way to turn around). so we moved on to another one
