from time to time you might spot rangers round this area but they ussually polite and most likely will just tell you to leave but it's quite rare

Amazing views and fairly easy to get to in a van. Albeit a tight squeeze over a narrow bridge further down the road.

We visited today in our medium wheel based Vauxhall Movano (similar size to a transit), no problem at all. Road is tight and steep but not too tricky. Vans are fine, not suitable for motorhomes. A long wheel based van came up with ease too. We would say its down to the drivers confidence, if you’re confident it’s fine and totally worth the view. If you’re not too confident maybe give it a miss!

No problems with access up in my 7.3m transit. Its more the width of your vehicle. Anything wider than van size in width will struggle on the Ashness bridge. Also, just past the NT car park, is another off road parking space for 3 or 4 vans. has no signs about anything

It’s a national trust car park that now does have signs saying no overnight parking but it’s so far out of the way I doubt you would be bothered if you did stay the night. The road up is a single lane track that’s not suitable for larger vehicles. No facilities but great views to wake up to.

How on earth are people getting up here? Just had to do one of the most traumatic 3000 point turns in my life! I'm in a small van - wouldn't even want to do it in a car though either to be honest!
