This is a fantastic local spot, please do not ruin it by using it like it's a campsite. if people keep parking up, unloading all their goods like they are at a campsite, this spot will no longer be available for use

Good flat parking, plenty of lovely walking areas ,Not FREE anymore

I thought I had found a real gem. I motorhome and a small van unfortunately some moron in a loud car has turned up spinning around the car park, driving off at speed and coming back and doing it again. We are on the 17th visit from said moron at 1.30am. You cant judge a spot based on one selfish muppet but maybe he does the every Saturday night. Real shame.

Almost clean (I picked up some litter while here) so please take you litter away, apart from that, a lovely little spot with lovely walks. Me and 1 other in a car stayed so plenty of space on a warm February Saturday evening. Bit muddy in places but no issue for a door rug. Local farmers were real nice and local walkers (with or without their dogs) all said good morning and generally smiling.

I was approached by a National Park Warden. Unfortunately, she informed me that OVERNIGHT STAYS ARE NOT PERMITTED. Being new to vanlife I wasn't aware. Nevertheless a Beautiful spot.

Nice flat car park, not too far from the village and facilities.

This is a great spot. It’s peacefully quiet and there’s loads of space. Beautiful view and we’re off to check out the walking trails in a moment. Felt totally safe travelling as a family with kids.

Only stopped here briefly enroute back home - but really glad we did - lovely quiet spot for a cuppa . If you walk along the path for 30 secs you get to a picnic bench with amazing views . It’s blissfully quiet , and clean . One other van here but plenty space for others !

We loved our stay here! plenty of beautiful foothpaths to valleys and through fields. we walked to Bakewell the first day and to Monyash the next. Youlgrave is a lovely little town with a small shop, postoffice, some pubs and public toilets. Busy place for (dog)walkers and several vans, but everyone was tidy and polite. Plenty of space too!

Car camping for the night, lovely peaceful stop, walk 20 yards to a picnic bench and see amazing views. great for parking and lots of great walks for humans and dogs with humans.

We stayed here for one night in our Defender pop-top, a large car park off a quiet country lane, safe for dogs, one other van there overnight. Right on the Limestone Way which makes for great walks with the dog. Another van pitched up later on around 10pm but we weren’t disturbed by them. Lovely views across to the Derbyshire Dales. Very quiet road. No rubbish. Would highly recommend.

Nice peaceful overnight. There were 4 vans here tonight. All well behaved and quiet. Nice and tidy, no litter left by anyone. Lovely views. No services apart from phone and TV signals.

Beautiful place, great views, picnic bench looking out over fields, farm animals, lovely village, places to swim, waterfalls to see, great walk, great pubs and shops, 2x toilet blocks not too far, 4g strong, flat, 3 other vans there, thank you

Had 1 night here, arrived about 8pm and had the place to myself. There were a few comings and goings in the night but overall very peaceful with an OK view.

Not a great view, but a quiet place to stay. The walks are overgrown, but the roads might be worth using - to the nearest pub. Although, they permit parking as well! Could be a lifesaver if you're big rig - but remember the narrow roads getting to it! Probably why it's quiet. High signal area!

We stayed here for two nights. popular spot with walkers and the local farmer uses it daily so please leave space for locals! Friday we were with 3 other small campers and then Saturday 7 big vans showed up which left only 2-3 spaces for locals. Please try to be respectful in places like this. If there's already a few vans in one free spot, move on, signs and height barriers will start to go up.

We had no trouble staying here for one night. There were about 6 other campers there. We walked down to youlgreave in the evening and swam in the stream and the next day walked up to Lathkilldale which I’d really recommend, we walked all along the quarry and it was beautiful. Overall a great place to stay, not one of the most beautiful but we felt safe and had some good walks nearby.

    Great location, quiet at night.

Great location, secluded carpark with fabulous views of Bakewell area and excellent local walks to bearby Monyash village with its shop and pubs. I would definitely return for an overnight stay here.

Perfect little spot for the night. Nice walks and views from the car park.

Gorgeous view of the sunrise! pretty level ground but I sleep on slopes all the time so may just not notice! only 1 car parked up all night then people started arriving at 6:30am ish. the sunrise rises right in the gap in the trees and over the hills so its a clear shot!

Parked there for the day today and had planned to stay overnight. We headed off for a walk further down the road but found a different spot to park up for the night. We will be back to overnight at some point

  • 5/5

Lovely and quiet. Two other VW campers stayed over night, very friendly. We will definitely be returning! The views were unforgettable!

So beautiful and quiet. We cycled down the hill into Youlgreave in about 5 mins, perhaps a 20-30 minute walk, where there are public toilets, a few bakeries, corner shop and three pubs. Down in the valley there is a designated swimming spot in the river, perfect for a dip in summer. A bit of a steep cycle back up though, so maybe best to walk! A friendly wave from the local farmer and dog walkers. Quite a few cars turned up for walks in the morning from about 9, but plenty of room.

Parked overnight here 31/12/20 with car on overnight backpacking trip. No sign saying overnight parking is forbidden now (Google street view does show such a sign). On my return next day 3 camper vans parked up. On Limestone Way path.

Great little park up spot. A bit of noise/smell from the cattle shed next door but generally quiet.. Local farmer gave us a friendly wave in the morning. Plenty of walks nearby.
