the place is great and perfect to start a hike. but when I arrived someone had smashed the windows of 2 cars and stolen everything they could find. we will not stay here for the night and also not come back for the hike :(
Parking avec eau avec chemin de randonnée permettant d'aller au taygetis en 4h30. Très calme, mais peu être très froid.

Parken mit Wasser mit Wanderweg, um in 4:30 nach Taygetis zu fahren. Sehr ruhig, kann aber sehr kalt sein.

wanbatin09/01/2023pour venir ici, suivre trajet préconisé par le refuge: Sparte - Anogeia - Paleopanagia - Poliana - source Magganiari. on est monté au refuge par la piste (tourner à gauche avant les sources) avec un Ducato 6.40/2.90 non 4x4 et porte vélos. aucun probleme car sec depuis 3 semaines. par temps humide... nope. j'ai dormi là haut (ok en hiver, pas en été).

Spot idéal sous les arbres, plat, tables en dur et fontaine avec super débit ! Les débris de verre assez récents en revanche sont démotivants, nous n’avons fait qu’y dormir !
Leonhymer18/07/2021Parking très agréable avec de l'ombre et de l'eau potable. Une étoile de moin pour la fréquentation tt la journée sur le parking. Le refuge est a 1h30 de marche puis 2 bonnes heures de marche jusqu'au sommet pour voire un magnifique levé de soleil.

We stayed here for one night and went up the mountain - which is way easier than initially thought. It roughly took us 4 hrs up and 2 down. You have fresh moi rain water everywhere and there are several trash cans around
chillforever12/10/2020I slept there two weeks ago. Around midnight, a car arrived. They showed interest in my van. As soon as they tried to open my (locked) door, i've put lights on and opened the door. They left immediately. Nevertheless, i did the hike and nobody touched my car, i think, thats only a problem during the night. Maybe you should just leave a little light on, so they get someone's in there.

This description and pictures belong to the parking place just below. On this coordinates is a gravel road going up the hill to a refuge. There are some spots beside the road with nice view but we preferred to stay at the parking spot with the water below where we spend two quiet nights.
eurotrip201807/07/2019Ein wunderschöner Platz im kühlen Schatten. Leider war ziemlich viel los, als wir dort waren. Was uns sehr gewundert hat, da die Anfahrt doch sehr lange, der Platz abgelegen ist und wir unter der Woche dort waren. Der Platz liegt direkt an der Straße. Viele Einheimische haben ihre Bienenstöcke weiter oben am Berg und fahren täglich rauf. Wanderer, Jäger um drei Uhr morgens, Junge Männer bis spät in die Nacht. Viele Menschen, die das leckere Quellwasser holen. In der Tat liegen am ganzen Platz verteilt Autoglasscherben, war etwas ungut. Ich habe Müll eingesammelt, bitte haltet den Platz sauber!

Next morning I tried again and made it, a beautiful drive! Beautiful place, plenty of good spring water, little rock pools in the fast running river to take an ice bath in (for the brave). Sadly, a lot of shattered windscreen glass on the ground - ominous. Young locals appeared 2hrs later, too interested in my van (until I made my presence known). Paranoid, couldn't risk a hike.

Sadly only a small amount of spring water running across the road on one of the bends was enough to prevent me from getting to this site. Very disappointed. The road otherwise was good.

Lieu parfait. Propre. Fontaine avec de l'eau claire. Nous nous sommes arrêtés pour manger et aller jusqu'au refuge. Très belle randonnée.

Very nice spot. You can make beautiful hikes in the mountains with stunning views. There is a possibility for barbeque. Except for drinking water and waste bin, no other facilities nearby.
