Lovely peaceful place to stop overnight. £7 & surrounded by trees. Walk up to forest for those inclined. Seats up at the top of a walkway to see the view better.

  • 5/5

Lovely private and quiet spot for up to 4 vans, very sheltered from the westerly winds. Great for walking the dog. Don’t abuse it, if there are 4 vehicles parked don’t make it 5! You will ruin it for others. No facilities here, so if you are not self contained do not use the surrounding area as your toilet.

  • 5/5

Nice place to stay for one night. It was only us and one other van so very quite and a lot of space. As previous comments said there are no toilets though. But there are some tables and benches which is nice. Also the car park is very level throughout. Would stay here again.

  • 4/5

Great forest park up. We arrived before 6pm so paid the day parking rate then at 6pm paid for the night. Lovely and quiet with one other van. About 10min after the other van left this morning a guy arrived in a black car. Parked facing us and appeared to write our van details down, then sat glaring at us for a good few minutes. He then started to drive away and saw me watching from my seat, he came back parked nearer and glared again for 5-10 minutes. Very odd, we’ve never encountered anyone like him before. He was definitely there for confrontation, which we didn’t give.

  • 5/5

Very quiet spot. Easy to pay. Nice walks nearby. There are no toilets or other facilities. One night only. Would stay there again.

  • 5/5

We parked in the upper car park along with 6 other vans. Arrived just as it was getting dark and paid the overnight charge on app. Car park away from road so very peaceful. Would recommend. Can also go for walks from here.

  • 5/5

Nice place on the way to Oban for the ferry. Very quiet over night. There were four campers the night (late sept) we stayed so don’t get there too late.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet, only 2 others overnighting. Easy 2.5 mile walk through the forest, which was perfect for the dogs. No bins but signage directed us to the next village (Dunbeg), which has a small car park with recycling bins for your waste. Would def stop again. £7 for overnight, when we'd easily pay that elsewhere just for day parking when going for a walk.

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Great place to park only draw back is depending on time of year and weather is midges. Still got in van even with screens up. only 10 miles from oban so ideal to park prior to ferry.

  • 5/5

Quiet night and paying the £7 to help maintain the forests wasn't an issue for us.

  • 5/5

A quiet nights sleep. We parked on top level car park and it was pretty level in the spot we chose. Nice Ant Hill walk although steep in places. Although only 4 vans permitted as per sign there were at least 8 vans last night. Picnic tables available but no bins. Easy to pay for parking using app. Would recommend.

  • 4/5

Here in a 7m MH.Met ranger who was friendly. Despite sign saying 4. Quiet spot and walks lovely. No bins sadly but otherwise fab. Met a local dog walker on yellow trail who said to watch for midges in summer as they decend to eat you alive and that we chose the best time to come as they arent out in big numbers yet.

  • 4/5

Quiet and peaceful overnight spot. Cost £7.40 to stay the night on forestry commission land. Using app. Only downside was the gravel/shingle getting trod into the van, but that’s easily sorted. Would use this site again.

  • 5/5

Handy for Oban, we stayed here before an early ferry. The top level of the two parking areas is better and in dry weather the picnic tables are great.

  • 5/5

Very quiet, park in the top car park space for around 5 campers.

  • 4/5

Well sign posted and tarmac entrance. Top car park has plenty of room for larger vehicles and only has a slight slope. States room for 4 but we counted 8 as some parked in the below car park. No bins but a nice picturesque walk.

  • 5/5

Stayed one night. Plenty of space - four vans there. Couple of nice picnic tables. Very quiet and sunny spot. Had a very restful night’s sleep. The ‘yellow’ way marked walk is lovely and the ant hills are amazing! Great stop if you want to visit Oban as it’s not far away and plenty of daytime but not overnight parking in Oban itself. Very much appreciate the forestry providing this.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Plazas niveladas. Silencio total. Al lado de paseos por el bosque.

  • 5/5

    Great spot. Nice walking trail

  • 5/5

ottima e gratuita sosta notturna. in mezzo alla natura. consigliata.

  • 4/5

Did the job for a one night stay, quite a few vehicles. No reception, walk up the slope from the top car park for a few bars of service.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

A great forestry car park away from the main road that is trialling a free overnight parking scheme! Perfect for about 4 campers with room around each for privacy. No facilities, but that doesn’t really matter when you have a loo and bin in your van anyway - which is one of the rules for staying! Went for a walk in the morning too which was absolutely beautiful!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Great spot. Flat, gravelled so no great of getting stuck. Super quiet. Two access roads, first (if driving East along A85) signed Fearnoch, turn left for forest just before you enter Fearnoch village, then keep left uphill at fork. Second access road is a shorter drive signed specifically for Forestry site.

  • 1/5

Gated and no access to site at 630 pm

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night, fabulous place. Nice walk and no road noise. However - Stay the Night rules for this particular car park state a maximum of 4 campers and 4m distance in between them - we arrived here as the 3rd camper, went for a walk and when we came back 3 big motorhomes squeezed in. Then just before dark another van came and stayed. Please people - check the rules beforehand.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night, was joined by another 2 motorhomes, very quiet and far enough away from the main road! Level and hidden so there was no wind. Great place!

  • 5/5

Cracking last min spot. Great signal and plenty of room for any sort of camper

  • 5/5

Sheltered quiet spot - great for sitting out some stormy weather. Parked in top level at bottom of mound - perfectly flat. Got good phone reception (vodafone). No signs about parking as its January and anything goes in January!!

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot in a forest. The road climbs quickly up from the main road on good tarmac. The car park is hard ground but not tar. Two levels, a lower and you can drive through it to an upper level. There is a picnic bench up a little mound from the upper level. Ben Cruachan stands silhouetted above everything else majestically in the East.

  • 5/5

    Great spot, completely undisturbed

  • 4/5

Great spot for 4-5 vans only as per Scottish forestry. This is a quiet dark spot well off the road withsome picnic tables and a walking trail. Remember if you want this Scottish Forest trial "stay the night" to continue then feed back on their website. Take your rubbish home and consider others .

  • 4/5

Beautiful spot in the middle of the forest - run by the forestry commission. No facilities, not even a bin, but lovely and quiet with a great 2.5 mile circular walk through the woods on the doorstep. We didn't realise this but Campervans are supposed to park on the upper level where the space is more limited (4-5 vans maximum). I had no wifi signal at all (EE).

  • 5/5

Great scheme run by forestry Scotland. Allows parking overnight for 4 campers from 6pm-10am. No tents allowed. This trial is running until October 2021, so great initiative to keep place clean and noise free. Lovely spot for the night. No facilities so must have own toilet, no fires allowed. Hopefully more places like this will pop up around Scotland if all goes well.

  • 5/5

Lovely place to stay for free for the night. Well signed, clearly stated in the parking that is allowed to park overnight. Very pleased about it.

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet spot. There was two other campers with us but everyone was quiet. Very clean spot. Level and loads of room. Great running/walking/MTB trails in the forest.

  • 4/5

We stayed here for a night because we struggled finding anywhere. There is no facilities but quiet at night a few early morning walkers and picnic tables.

  • 5/5

Great quiet spot, flat ground and nice walks around the forest.

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet. flat ground. nice walks.

  • 4/5

Quiet spot with hard ground. No noise from the road. Some nice signposted walks through the forest. We were the only camper there overnight. No facilities.

  • 5/5

Car park open under the forestry commission park for the night scheme. Hardstanding areas adjacent to forests. No facilities but a series of excellent signposted walks.

  • 4/5

    Okay for a quick overnighter

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet spot. had the place to ourselves

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Great wee car park, bead quiet and off the beaten track.

  • 3/5

Très bien pour une nuit. Calme : nous n'entendons pas la route. Et pas de midges aujourd'hui ?

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

    Good spot

  • 5/5

Parfait !

  • 4/5

    Très bel endroit

  • 4/5

Good level site, very quite, not for the easily scared. forest sounds during the night. Good find.

  • 3/5
