I arrived earlier than 8pm so had to pay for an hour before paying the £11 over night charge. I couldn’t pay on the app which meant I had to venture out in the rain and pay at the machine. The toilets were 50p a time, and the light didn’t turn on so use my phone torch. Gorgeous location right on the lake. Play area next door. Lovely walks and not far from Windermere town centre. Will use again.

  • 4/5

Big carpark close to the lake and a play park. We walked in to the town, about a mile up hill you'll need a torch if coming back in the dark. overnight charges £11 start at 8pm so if you arrive earlier you will have to pay normal hourly charge as well.

  • 5/5

Great car park! Stayed here over night for £11 from 7pm-7am then just brought a couple more hours. Few other campers here for the night too. Toilets are nice and clean, there’s public bins for any litter. Only downside is noise from the main road but didn’t bother us!

  • 4/5

Very dark and peaceful at night, less than 1 mile walk up to the town (but uphill, minimal lighting and no pavement - would recommend the Tilly for dinner though). Great to have toilets, though pretty steep at 50p a go.

  • 5/5

Can’t complain! We stayed the night, had a walk over the hill to the lake and did some fishing which was brilliant. In the evening we took a 15 minute walk into the town for some drinks and food. Toilets were open all night for a small cost - would definitely recommend.

  • 3/5

  • 4/5

A lot of road noise in the day, but at £19.80 for 3 nights, you can’t really complain. 10 minutes walk into the town. Very good reception on 3 mobile.

  • 5/5

Excellent spot and only a stone's throw away from Lake Windermere. Parking costs £11 for the night and lots of other vans parked up too, which made us feel very safe.

  • 3/5

Very confusing payment system for overnight stays. £11 from 8pm-8am, but this isn’t included in a day ticket and you can’t pay until after 8pm. Toilets 50p and open 6am - 10pm. On the plus side, very quiet at night and not many other campervans parked up.

  • 5/5

Stayed here recently. Good spot, plenty of space, clean toilets. 5 other vans also stayed. Short walk up into the town.

  • 3/5

Very nice spot. Overnight permitted, GBP 10, however Day also GBP 10. No mobile signal. So overall expensive for just a parking. We went for a swim and moved on

  • 4/5

Busy but good parking spot with lots of spaces. We paid £19.80 for 3 days. There are public toilets open all night which cost 50p you pay by card. It's right on lake Windermere so nice area and only 25 min walk into the town.

  • 5/5

Excellent place was a little muddy due to the weather but can’t be helped! Toilets 50p again little muddy but due to the lovely wet summer we are having it can’t be helped! Lovely walk in to the town for food and drinks. We will be back!

  • 4/5

£11 parking 8pm-8am, charging for up to 6 hours in the day was around £7 I believe. Toilets are 50p to use, not the best condition for paid facilities but does the job. Great access to the lake.

  • 5/5

£11 overnight stay 8pm - 8am 50p toilets in the car park Short walk to jetty with lovely view of the lake Play area next to park up Kayak/Paddleboard hire next to play area Visitors do arrive early to pump up paddle boards/walk dogs but not an iusue as everyone was friendly. Enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Short stomp from the lake and with loos. Just one other van on a rainy Tues the week before schools break up for summer. Perfect for a quick paddle in the morning. Easy 3/4 mile hike into town for restaurants etc. 2 bars 5G on EE

  • 5/5

Stayed for 2 nights, £11 p/n 8pm-8am. Toilets 50p on contactless.plenty of room for a number of vans, large/small. Noise from road but bearable. Locals arrive early in the morn to use the lake for kayaking etc. was awoken on the Sunday night/morn 1am by local boy racers blasting music. Plenty of bins for your rubbish. Convenient place

  • 5/5

Great spot, right next to some beautiful, almost private places to sit by the lake and great for paddle boarding. Paid £9.10 to park for the day. Toilets and a large bin in the car park. Parking pretty level. Managed to find a spot big enough for our 7.4m van without being in the way. 4G pretty good on EE & o2.

  • 5/5

What a fantastic beautiful location, stayed a few times, near to a lovely lake shore perfect for kayaking/paddle boarding. Picnic and play park and Bowness only 20min walk. £10 pn. Road noise through the day.

  • 5/5

We stayed at this location for one night, its a paying location where motorhomes can stay overnight for £10 between the hours of 8pm to 8am. 1 minutes walk from Lake Windemere, which is beautiful. Some road noise, but that went later in the evening. Toilet block onsite, which costs 50 pence accessed by tapping your phone, no cash option.

  • 5/5

Toilets open again, really lovely place to stay!

  • 4/5

Looked like a lovely spot, but the toilets are all closed for the foreseeable future so we were not able to stay.

  • 5/5

Great Car park. Only van there for the night, parked near the road and even that wasn’t to noisy, few cars driving past as you’d expect. 1 mile walk into Bowness which was great. We paid £10 for the 8pm-8am

  • 5/5

we slept here 23rd, 24th, 26th of December this year! toilets were locked but that was ok. 3 nights of undisturbed sleep or any other problems. few minutes walk to the lake for a morning swim or shower in the lake. £1.90 if you wanted to sleep overnight on the paybyphone app as it was a small van not a motorhome.

  • 5/5

Really great place to stay, loads of spaces. Only one other van overnight. £10 by ticket machine. Clean, well-maintained toilets 50p, though the disabled one was open all the time. A very short walk to the lake with public jetties where we launched the paddle board and shared the space with just one swimmer.

  • 5/5

Stayed here in October 2022 for the night. The car park was empty and it was safe. Only down side was the toilets were out of order but if you drive up the road for 1 minute you will find other 24/7 public toilets that are 50p to use. In the morning we woke early and walked 4 minutes to Windermere lake for a cold dip which was amazing!

  • 5/5

Parking normal. Sin servicios. Excelente! Se sentia seguro y habia mas autocaravanas. Zona tranquila. Puedes ir caminando al pueblo y tambien al lago. Muy buena ubicacion.

  • 5/5

Decent place to park toilets being refurbished when we were there 21/09/22 but good value for money. The walk into Windermere is ok in the day but at night you definitely need a good torch.

  • 4/5

Great pitch up…toilets currently out of order though.

  • 4/5

Just by the lake, toilets disgusting, rubbish bins full, parking ok. £10 overnight

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

A lot of space. Close to the lake and Windermere! Pay by mobile! Gross toilets!

  • 4/5

Great park up. Shocking toilets but hey, there’s toilets. Play park and lake 2 mins away. Coffee truck too. £10 from 8pm - 8am.

  • 3/5

how do you book the car park? new to site

  • 5/5

One another great place for staying overnight. Quite busy during the day, but through the night it was OK. WC right next to it. We paid 10£ from 8pm to 8am. Nice views 5 minutes by walk on the hill next to the parking space. Recommended.

  • 5/5

Good stop over , £35 for a week. Quiet and toilets are a bonus!

  • 5/5

Nice car park ( £10 overnite). Managed a spot right at the back so very little traffic noise….. virtually stopped after 8pm. Youth having a little party a bit further down, moderate volume but also left about 8pm. About 2 min walk to Windermere beach, jetty and a little walkway along the lake. Even though easily parked, I can see it being busy during summer holidays due to activities. Nice stay.

  • 4/5

Good place to park up over night, sometimes you have to wait to get a space after day crowds have gone. ticket machine has some faults, but works okay. toilets really need work, but usable? 20minute walk to town and 5minutes to lake side. would stay again.

  • 5/5

We stayed here last night and it was perfect! We walked down to the lake and also into town from here. £10 to stay the night. No trouble, nice and quiet. Toilets are open and free at the moment as they are going to be refurbished (they need it!)

  • 5/5

Our go to place to park overnight. Never any bother, 2 minute walk to the gorgeous lake with 2 jetty’s and stunning views and toilets! Perfect!

  • 5/5

Stopped for 1 night no hassle at all, walked into Windermere for food/beer.

  • 5/5

Ideal location to park for a night. Toilet ain’t great but apparently due a refurb this year! Lake, park and nice walk for the dog also seconds away.

  • 5/5

Great spot for a one night stay in the lakes. Car park pretty level, toilets are currently free and clean as it's off season (they're due to be refurbished in spring a sign said). A few minutes walk to the lake shore - no view from the carpark though. Public arrive from 7am, road noise fine past 11pm

  • 4/5

Nice park up, close to the lake. It’s a fair walk into town though, so if you’re looking for a meal or a few beers it’ll be a bit of a trek. The walk is not well lit during the hours of darkness, so beware. The road noise didn’t bother us. Windermere didn’t seem to have much about it. Good for a single stop over and really good to see a local authority facilitating motorhome/campervan visitors.

  • 4/5

Nice enough spot. Great swim for me and playground for the kids

  • 5/5

Parked overnight. wonderful short walk to beautiful lake

  • 5/5

Perfect spot. Road is loud but soon goes quiet approx 2230.

  • 3/5

Lovely to be able to pay £10 to park up for the night, however one of the most busiest roads I’ve ever slept beside! Even throughout the night, the traffic was constant. Nice spot close to the lake. 50p to pay by card for the toilets.

  • 3/5

Stayed over for 1 night, it is what it is really £10 for the night had decent sleep and only short walk to town. Toilets are pretty grim TBH doors had been broken so free but would only use in desperate times.

  • 5/5

Stayed here on the way up to do the NC500 great stop over toilets £10 8pm till 8am

  • 5/5

Great spot. 15 minute walk into town. 1 minute walk to lake side. There is a local authority facility 30 seconds away, where you can hire paddle boards, etc. Smaller vans will be fine in the main car park, if the motorhome area is full.

  • 4/5

Brilliant location for a family stopover. Car park with motorhome bays on an overnight fee. Busy in summer holidays. We arrived at 10am and half full it was £8 to park until 8pm then £10 overnight. Brilliant play ground for the kids, footpaths and jetties for watersports and swimming. Drawback is the gross toilets at 50p a go. Don't try to get away without paying, we need more of this in the UK.

  • 5/5

We stayed for 3 nights here and felt very safe. Security walk around in the evening to make sure there are no barbeques or fires. Just a short walk from the lake and a trail, go up the hill full of ferns for the best view! It does get busy around 8pm, so we would recommend arriving a little earlier. Definitely recommend.

  • 4/5

Nice big car park and a short stroll down to beautiful lake windermere, which was great for swimming. Car park prices expensive in the day time and £10 overnight although we risked it and didn't get a fine. Locals all seemed very friendly.

  • 4/5

Great Location. Paid £10 for the night then topped up in the morning so we didn't have to rush off. Works out a little pricey and the road is noisy but pay by phone is really useful. Lovely park and swimming.

  • 5/5

Fab place. Excellent nights sleep. Stayed for 3 nights here. Lovely walk to lake Windermere only 5 minutes away. Definitely recommend this little gem x

  • 5/5

I was a bit dubious of this on reading thought it might be super busy and noisy but it was great! felt safe and quiet, got a good night's sleep. best thing was I could go for a dawn wild swim just a few minutes walk away on the lake. I think paying for the toilets is a bit much as they are pretty gross....but overall great spot to overnight

  • 5/5

Great spot with motorhomes allowed overnight for £10. Toilets 50p. No services Short walk down to the lake. Pebble beach with great views. 10 mins walk into Windermere.

  • 5/5

Such a great location, 1min walk from the lake which is perfect for water activities. The road gets a little noise in the morning but other than that would definitely recommend

  • 5/5

Here now, good sized car park lots of space, toilets open 24hours (technical error so they were free instead of 50p. Meant to be £10 to stay from 8-8 but we risked it and didn't get a ticket, its 7.30am now so if ticket man comes can just move somewhere else.

  • 5/5

Such a lovely spot! Highly recommend! Car park is by the road so a bit noisy in the morning but not too bad... Stopped here on our way to Scotland from St Ives. Went for a swim and paddle board.. waters warmer than the sea!

  • 5/5

Spent the night in our car , nice and quiet after 10 pm , toilets open all night long, cheap spot if you want somewhere closed off but close to the town.

  • 5/5

Excellent spot , nice and quiet after 10pm when road traffic slows , excellent park for kids and toilets open all evening , 2 min walk to the lake £10 a night 8-8 be stopping again
