Absolutely amazing beautiful place! Lots of free camping/motorhome laybys on the road with stone firepits to use & breathtaking views! Quiet locations with walks or venture down to the Loch side :)) A cafe on your way in & you can purchase fire wood at the campsite. You can drive to the end of the road (dead end) and there is quite a big open space for parking up.

Beautiful! Such a peaceful spot for a night, overlooking the loch. Sat nav sent us down a very scary rough track and over a rickety wooden bridge, but we survived! Few cars passing in the morning, and sheep about so keep dogs on leads.

spots available to camp from the Dam to the castle. The official campsite is 15 pounds per night but no toilet facilities.Loch Doon has perch and brown trout wish is free to fish. There is no pike in it despite comments there is. Loads of walks to explore.

Stayed here for one night, beautiful views. Plenty of places to park. Locals all very friendly and helpful. Lovely walks for the dog. Local sheep came to say hello in the morning. Great night sleep, a few cars passing but no problems at all. Will definitely be back.

Please please respect this place. It’s camper heaven and we need to treasure this place and show how well our community can behave.

Loved this place! My reason for 4* is there seems to be more road blockages which tells me there has been abuse of nature (rubbish) it’s such a shame I really hope this place doesn’t become closed in the future!

My favourite place I’ve ever stayed so far. Lots of great park ups on the side of the road. Very quiet and undisturbed. Even went for a swim and a lovely trail walk. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully come back again.
