Height barrier installed which is a shame

  • 1/5

  • 3/5

Road is now Open but there is a 2.1m height restriction

  • 2/5

closed due to road work :(

    height barrier in place ☹️

  • 3/5

  • 1/5

Hat leider eine Höhenbegrenzung von max. 2,1 Meter. Ansonsten ein schöner ruhiger Ort.

  • 1/5

    New height restriction barrier. Gutted.

  • 2/5

Looked like a great spot but now has a height restriction

  • 5/5

Hier haben wir für eine kurze Wanderung gehalten. Es war leider noch zu früh - dies wäre der geniale Übernachtungsplatz!

  • 5/5

Plenty of room. Great walks in the area. Good views around. No bins. We were there on a Sunday and the car park and single track road to get there got very full during the day

  • 4/5

everything has been cleared, the ruins. cleaned back up. it is a nice place to chill for a night, especially when you have the woods. you can get the odd loud person but overall it is beautiful quiet stay. and the view of the stars on a clear night is worth it

just been here and decided to leave. area in photo been cordoned off now now.and other part of the car park slick with burned toxic waste. rest of spaces used by walkers. didn't feel right to fill them up. also pretty remote, if that's not your thing

  • 5/5

Very nice surroundings, but currently less car spaces because of the burned waste. Some door slamming from locals in the morning, but otherwise no problems.

  • 1/5

Ruined by mass of rubbish that has been set on fire with what looks like diesel the floor is black like coal and it gets everywhere the rubbish has been smoldering away for the past 2 weeks it was dumped more than a month ago. The locals aren't much better breaking necks to have a look at what you're doing.

Stayed here last night. Quite busy during the day (Sunday) as there are a couple of nice local walks (which can include a pub visit). If you are just using as an overnight stop I suggest arrive after dusk and leave early (to avoid annoying the local dog walkers). My only criticism of this site is that it is remote - I felt a little vulnerable as a single female.

  • 5/5

Definitely one of our new favorite spots! The hairy coos are gorgeous and the views are so stunning. Plenty of opportunities for solar with limited tree cover. Lots of dog walkers but no issues whatsoever with our xl wheelbase. Very so so signal with superdrug mobile but decent 4g signal on O2

  • 5/5

Brilliant spot just as described, we did sweat a bit nearing this spot as its at the end of a single track dead end lane and well hidden in the dark. Super quiet, we had a boy racer turn up but they were good and just stopped for a rest like us.

  • 5/5

Great location! stayed on a Saturday night only camper there at the time. 2 more campers arrived late at night. Great views in the morning. Busy with dog walkers from 7am. I spoke to 2 locals one loved the fact campers use the car park instead of the headlight flasher previously. The other was part of some local clean up team and asked if I stayed once I replied yes she wasn't happy! no signs.

  • 3/5

Fabulous as others have said up until 4am. Goodness knows what was happening between some cars who arrived at that point but they were there for about 15mins with music playing from the cars and lots of loud chat .

  • 5/5

Great spot for our big Daf Overlander. Not a huge car park though, 3 of us parked overnight. We have stayed most of day but no-one has bothered us. Good 4G access for working.

  • 5/5

We spent one night in this lovely place surrounded by fields. Easy access from the A road to this quiet and flat parking, 4G access. Nice walk (less than 10 minutes) to the local pub called The Shoulder of Mutton where we had a pint in great atmosphere.

  • 4/5

Flat, serene and quiet. Lovely walks. Beautiful village. 2 great pubs within walking distance.

  • 5/5

Lovely, remote place to stay, not sure anyone mentioned, and hope we got the right place, but the car park is part of the Brockadale Nature reserve. No one here when we arrived at 11.30pm. Another camper turned up at midnight and all quiet until dog walkers at about 8.30am.

  • 5/5

Oops that's LEYS LANE not let's lane.

  • 5/5

If any one having difficulty finding then when coming off A1 put KIRK SMEATON in your sat nav. in KS enter DARRINGTON. let's lane is @100 metres left turning as you are leaving KS towards DARRINGTON. if coming FROM DARRINGTON then let's lane is right turn just before entering KS. hope this helps.

Distant A1 hum, apart from that, peace and quiet. Stayed Sun to Mon night, dog walkers until as late as 9 pm and as early as 5 am, but no bother. Nice nature reserve sounds around. Nice spot! Let’s all keep it that way…

  • 5/5

Stayed one night. Super quiet and nice walk in the morning.

  • 4/5

Lovely spot just off the A1, with nice walks for the morning. Would come back again! We stayed 30/07/21 (a Friday night) and there was a couple of vehicles with really loud music until early hours.

  • 5/5

Spent 1 night here. I arrived in the dark and the place was empty, I had 1 car drive in at around midnight then go again. woke up still all on my own with some cracking views. Dog walkers started to show up at around 07:30 definitely one to remember

  • 5/5

Stayed one night, good spot with plenty of walking trails

  • 5/5

Brilliant stopover, just off the A1 and quite close to Ferrybridge Services. Very quiet (for overnight stopover). had the place to ourselves until early morning when dog walkers arrived. Lovely walks and stunning views. Woods, flower meadows and a stream. Good place to have a picnic. Free parking and pretty level. No facilities except dog poo bin. Added to favourites.

  • 4/5

A peaceful evening and quiet undisturbed night. I would say 10mins from A1, it is a little bit awkward to find, but it is worth the bother. Woke up to loads of dog walkers etc in the morning, the parking spaces fill up quite quickly.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. Nice and quiet through the night. Some cars showed up late on but were gone by 11ish. Stunning walk around the nature reserve. Level parking for a number of vans. Will be adding to favourites.

  • 4/5

Its quite hidden away but lovely, quiet little stop off for us. Nice scenic walk around the nature reserve too. One other camper van there, but woke up to 5 other cars dog walking at 6am. They didn't wake us though.
