Aktuell und bis mindestens August die einzige Parkfläche in Achmelvich - auch dem CP. Der öffentliche Parkplatz vom Strand wird renoviert/umgebaut. Dies ist keine "Überlauffläche", es ist ein privater Parkplatz.

Colin the owner is really friendly and helpful. It is only a basic site at the moment but he is in the middle of building shower and toilets block . Nice site and stunning location. Short walk to the beach, and boy what a beach.! Very quiet no noise at night. £15 for VW Campervan . Would definitely return brilliant for stop off overnight and walk around the coast and beach.

April 2024 Parked the van in the car park for a beach walk and paid £2 for the hour in the honesty box. Took some pictures to add to this post to help others. Beach is lovely. One public toilet. Looks like they are building something next to it (maybe a toilet block? ). Cash for the honest box. There was a no to call for a bank transfer on another sign.

This would be where o would choose to spend my summer if I lived in Scotland. We live in Australia and this beach reminds me of the beaches we have. Absolutely stunning. Showers and toilet block not ready yet. £15 to stay the night (no facilities) or £1 per hour. Best beach we’ve seen in Europe.

Pulled up on the off chance, Great place Colin and Dave very friendly and very helpful. New toilet block being built. Highly recommend and also made to feel welcome.

  • 5/5

Look for a sign that says Motorhome Parking! A peaceful little spot to stay the night next to what is an excellent location. Would certainly recommend!

Hunde willkommen.

we had lovely stay, Colin was lovely, beach only a short walk, the beach was so beautiful. their is a toilet and showers are getting built at the moment. £20 for a lwb van

  • 5/5

warm welcome for us and the dogs from Colin and a great wee site super close to the loo and the beach.

  • 5/5

Einfacher Platz mit sehr nettem Betreiber, Hunde erlaubt. Sanitär grade in Mache, daher aktuell nur Müllentsorgung und Wasser. Meerblick.

Cracking little spot to stop over especially nr the beach . Dog friendly aswell . Little facilities atmo so best if you are self contained really but he can’t do enough to help . Developing the site so that will change . His grandad started the site in the 70 s .

Fabulous spot! Felt really welcome and this was actually a campsite I stayed on in 1993! Toilet just over the stile, but Colin has planning for toilet/shower block. Beach is just over the dunes, and is stunning, but the site itself is quite sheltered.

  • 5/5

Little grassed parking area which is an overflow from the main camp site. Main campsite doesn't allow dogs. Colin the owner of the overflow does. Colin was really friendly & very helpful. Public toilet over the stile. Overflow has good views & 2 min walk from the beach, various walks in the area. Colin has plans in for a toilet/shower block for next year. Good luck for your future plans Colin

We decided to stop as the comments where really good & everybody mentioned how friendly Colin the owner is! Great spot right next to the beach with a view out to sea! Colin was great, really friendly & helpful & was more than happy to help us! It was £20 for the night with electric hook up. The toilet was a few yards from us over a stile. He allows dogs too whereas the achmelvich campsite doesn’t.

15£ to stay from 2pm til morning after. No facilities other than tap water but the owner has planned a toilet block to be installed next year. The lad is very friendly and even shared his Wi-Fi with us when we couldn’t reach home to tell we were ok (works only within a few meters of his caravan) View on the beach is fab! Good efforts that will surely be worthy

  • 5/5

it's actually a grass covered parking yard, not too many pitches , no facilities but the owner is super friendly and a life saver if you're a late arriver and tired like us , public toilet over the fence , no disposals yet, all planned , great potential !

  • 5/5

Amazing Seaview better than the camping next to it, nice and friendly service, very quiet. Owner’s doggie is a cutie.

  • 5/5

fab little site, the lad in the static whom you pay kindly charged our projector up for us! literally a 2 minute walk onto the beach. had a nice brew and bacon butty this morning on there

  • 5/5

Fab spot for the night. We've chosen this carpark because the camping site didn't allow dogs (?) The parking is veeeery peaceful and 2 mins walks from the beach, also other paths to explore. public toilets and water available to refill, just a little uncomfortable the way to load the van with the water, as the parking have single road entrance. motorhomes allowed only if discrete (?)

  • 5/5

Planning on heading here. How do you book?

  • 5/5

Amazing spot, would highly recommend! Colin was the friendliest host we had for our entire trip and went above and beyond to host us. The view is incredible and beach is only a 5 min walk away. Fab camp spot overall and can’t wait to come back - Kat, Amelia, Steph

Adjacent Youth Hostel was very friendly and allowed me to use toilet / shower for £5 contribution.

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning scenery. The site is dog friendly, fresh water, ehu (£5 extra), Colin is very friendly and helpful. Great overnight stay.

  • 5/5

Excellent wee stop. Colin who couldn't have been more helpful working on site every day to add toilet block and level pitches. Beaches amazing and worth the £20.

  • 5/5

£15 a night. Great location beside the beach. It says campsite full at the start of the road but the overflow car park was empty. Water facilities, & they take general waste ‘& recycling. Just a new site & he works on it daily so I’m guessing there will be improved facilities by next summer. There is shop & fish & chip shop in the campsite which you can use, dogs are not allowed in the campsite.

  • 4/5

An Amazing beach, the sand is so white and the sea is clear and turquoise! The site is small and great because dogs are allowed and they aren’t on the main campsite. However, we were charged £20 not £15. There’s a sign which says £15-20 for overnight. I think £20 is a little steep due to very limited facilities. Beautiful location though!

  • 5/5

Pulled up here on the off chance. Paid £15 cash you can also do a bank transfer. Pretty basic only one hook up. Was about 10 campers and 10 tents with their cars parked and still plenty of room. Short walk to the public toilets over the stile. Tap on site with a hose you can fill up your water and drain to pour your grey waste. No black waste disposal. Quiet and a short walk to the beach.

  • 5/5

Great informal site for vans, very close to the beach. No facilities other than fresh water and a single EHU, but nearby public toilets clean and well stocked with loo roll/soap/paper towels. The owner, Colin, is lovely and very helpful.

  • 5/5

Basic campsite with water supply. Next to public toilets which also have a tap. Lots of campers parked in the public car park despite no overnight parking signs. We stayed in the smaller campsite as the main one was full -£20 for a camper & 3 people. The location is incredible! The beach is beautiful and worth the long winding road to get to it. Fish and chip shop as well as a general shop.

  • 5/5

Must stop place! The bay is absolutely gorgeous! The campsite was full but there is a new overflow car parking area for campers. Just a field, no facilities but public toilets and drinking water available. Stayed for 2 nights and Colin the owner was so chilled and welcoming. Safe, welcoming and biggest bonus was pets allowed which the main campsite doesn’t offer.
